So Much is Changing!

Dear friends and family,

December was definitely a month of big changes! Let’s start off with the most exciting:)

Engaged!

Geoff and I got engaged this month!! On December 10th, my best friend and biggest crush got down on one knee. We started courting last December after a season of waiting on the Lord for His direction. Then, after a phone call with my dad, we began a long distance relationship (he in California, I in Mexico)! It has honestly been the most challenging year I’ve ever had, yet God was with us through it all. The Lord has been so faithful and gracious, we are excited to keep growing and run this race together.

Leaving Rosarito!

With 2022 coming to its end, so has my time on staff at Calvary Rosarito also made its conclusion for the season. I am so grateful for my year here in Rosarito. I got to learn so much while working at a sending hub church (a church that plants churches). I learned how to teach God’s Word through making a bible study, how to use camera equipment for video projects, and received my first opportunity to edit a book! It is so incredible what happens when we allow the Lord to take full reign over our lives! I couldn’t have imagined half as great a year as this could happen to me. Yet God made it happen.

I’ve had such a joyful time living here and serving at Calvary Rosarito. It was such a blessing to end off the year with a sending service, a church service where we sent out Calvary Rosarito’s 35th church planter! The church planting couple our church sent out was Brian De La Cruz and his wife Brittany- a couple I had met while serving at the Connections House last summer. I’m so happy I got to be here to see them sent out to the South of Mexico to plant Calvary Conexión!

Moving to Orange County!

As of January 2nd, I will have moved into a house in Yorba Linda with 5 other girls who are in the missions internship program I am joining! Thank you so much to those who prayed for my moving preparations, I am pleased to share that the Lord answered that prayer better than I even hoped!

I will be looking for a job when I move and will be starting the internship program at Calvary Chapel Saving Grace on January 9th. Please pray for a smooth transition!

Preparing for Japan!

I am still planning to go on a 2-week trip to Japan to seek the Lord in the question of truly being called there. I will be going with a small team at the end of March and will be purchasing the tickets in January. I hope to update you with the details of this trip in my next newsletter! In the meantime, please keep the trip in prayer and if the Lord lays it on your heart to partner with me financially on this trip, there is a secure giving link at the bottom of this page.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my last update of the year! I hope you all have a happy new year and that we can see each other again very soon!😊

Sincerely,

Lydia Boubion
