Our outreach this morning was unlike any other. We all sat in on classes at an LDS institute at Weber State University. The purpose was to go in, ask questions and make connections with Mormons in class. I was able to connect with a student I was sitting next to and share with him after class. He mentioned something common LDS people say, “Some things in the Bible have been lost.” I asked what he meant and he described what Mormons teach as “the great apostasy,” that there were pieces of the gospel of Jesus that were lost until they were “restored” through “the prophet” Joseph Smith. I got to share with him the reliability of Scripture, my personal testimony, and being saved by grace.
This is one short story of many that have already happened in our first two days in Utah. Please be praying for our team (names all listed below) and for this very spiritually dark place, we are here until Friday (the 14th). God willing I’ll have many more stories to come! Thank you for sending us!
