Disaster Relief
I was able to join a disaster relief team to Louisiana. We linked up with a ministry called After The Storm 4 Christ led by faithful ministry couple, Bob and Cate. They follow natural disasters and minister to families that have been devastated by them. A few years ago Bob and Cate sold all they had to buy a mobile home and live as full time workers of this amazing ministry God placed on their heart.
We were able to minister to multiple people including a family of three who’s house had been severely damaged by the hurricane. We did a lot of clean up and by the second day Shelly, the mom of the family, was telling us with tears in her eyes how thankful she was that we had come from California to come help and clean her house. One favorite thing about this trip was that it wasn’t just about cleaning homes, somebody from our team was always talking or praying with a member of the family whose home we were cleaning. Any person could come and clean their house, but only the Lord could minister to their hearts in the way He did through our team. You can watch a video of the Louisiana trip here:
South Asia
I had the opportunity to join a small team in a country in South Asia for about two weeks. We came alongside the work being done at a Calvary Chapel there where the Lord is raising up students to be trained up in the word of God from places all over the country. We were able to join for their ceremony where 15 students graduated! 90 percent of this countries population is unreached. 90 percent. Millions of people do not have anyone near them preaching Jesus and spreading his love to them. The students being raised up and sent out at the college are ministering to this unreached population.
80 Percent of people in this country grow up in Hinduism. This is Pastor Aanand. He is the head pastor at the Calvary. I spent much time with him while in the country and at one point I asked him his personal testimony. He was raised in a hindu home and told me that he used to sacrifice, “A chicken every week.” The lord eventually touched his heart through his brother and now he is doing an amazing work for the Lord.
While in the country we went to a leper colony and handed out jackets in preparation for the winter time. Yes, leprosy still exists today! (We also call it Hansen’s disease). Just like in Bible times, these people are outcasted from their society. They live together in their own village and we were able to share the love of Christ in word and action. One man whom I gave a jacket to was so filled with joy that he started to dance! Believers have been coming to this specific leper colony for many years, so there is already a strong Christian presence in the neighborhood. Please pray for the Hindu people that live in the village to come to Christ and for the Christians there to be a light.
Upcoming Trips
I am preparing soon to travel once again. In December to Mexico and then in January to Utah. My friend Jared is leading a trip to Utah with Campus Revive to minister to the mormon community there and I am so excited to be joining them. We are linking up with a man named Russ who hosts teams to do outreach to mormons on college campuses and other places in Utah. Utah is the Mormon capital, 2 out of 3 people there are mormon and it is the home of temple square. This is where young people are trained up in doctrines of demons. One thing in common I noticed with all of these trips is that I am not doing anything new. I am coming alongside works that God has already begun. Whether it is disaster relief with Bob and Cate, training up people in the word of God with Pastor Anand, or preaching the gospel to Mormons with Russ. God is already moving in these places. God has raised up these workers to labor for the gospel. It is a joy and honor to witness what God has already set in motion. Your partnership for the gospel is not in vain. Lives are being changed not just for temporary needs, but for something much more important. Lives are being changed for eternity. When we get to heaven we will not regret our investments.
