Vincent Family June 2024 Missions Update

Greetings from Mexico. In this update I wanted to celebrate mothers and tell you all about our mother’s day celebration! But first, I want to thank all of the mother’s out there, especially the mothers that are reading this missions update! The Bible says this about mothers in Proverbs 31:25 “Strength and honor are her clothing” And I believe that every person has found this to be true of their mother.

This past month we got to celebrate mother’s day and our church had a blast honoring and thanking all of the mothers in our fellowship. Personally, I had a fantastic mother’s day with all three of the mother’s in my life with me at our church! My mom Diane was there, my mother in law Diane (Sarah’s mom who moved to Rosarito recently) was also there, and of course my wife Sarah was there as well! I am so blessed to have three Godly mother’s in my life, thank you Lord!

Our church had a fantastic mother’s day celebration where I got to teach a story of a mother’s love focusing on the relationship that Jesus had with His mother Mary. We also prayed for the mom’s and had a special mother’s day photo booth where each mother was invited to take pictures with their loved ones.

After the service in the patio, we were blessed to give each mother a free mother’s day brunch! The funny thing about the brunch was last year after we served the father’s Carne Asada Nachos on father’s day, we served the mother’s salads, and the mom’s WERE NOT HAPPY! We received at least 20 reminders that the men got nachos, and we weren’t about to repeat our mistake again! Needless to say, the mother’s loved their carne asada nacho plates this year!

In this update, I wanted to let you know what my beautiful wife Sarah has been up to! The Bible says this about the virtuous wife of Proverbs 31:31 “Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.  The virtuous woman of Proverbs 31 was a hard worker, and my wife Sarah is also an amazing and hard-working wife and mother!

For the past two years, Sarah has worked full time in the California Public School system teaching Junior High at a school that is 100% online. Although this job is very difficult, Sarah has excelled in her position and has already been named the lead teacher for 8th grade. One of the main reasons that Sarah took this job was to help us get by with the rising living expenses post-covid and also to help us save towards retirement! (An area where many missionaries fail miserably) I am so thankful for a hard working wife that is able to excel in her job.

Sarah also continues to lead our church’s large and flourishing women’s ministry. Sarah and her team are finalizing preparation for our church’s annual women’s retreat where Sarah is one of the speakers. Please keep our June women’s retreat in your prayers.

Also in May, Sarah was invited to teach at the women’s Mother’s Day event at our sister church down in Ensenada! (Horizonte Ensenada)  At the start of the year, our church planter Hugo Limon made the big move to pass on his church in Culiacan to take over the established church 40 miles south of us, Horizonte Ensenada.

At this mother’s day dinner, Sarah was the featured speaker. Now not all missionaries can preach fluently in a foreign language, but my bride Sarah makes it look easy! Even though this was a women’s only event, I snuck in to hear her teach and I was blessed to see the 150 ladies in attendance get touched, challenged, and blessed by the word that Sarah shared!

God has done amazing things in our church and ministry over the years, and I am so blessed to have Sarah as the partner that God chose for me. I couldn’t have done any of the ministry that I do, without this faithful woman by my side.

Finally, I want to thank you once again for partnering with us in this great missions work in Mexico. We are honored and blessed that you have chosen to support us and pray for us as your missionaries. We love you and give thanks for you!

Con mucho amor de Mexico,  (with much love from Mexico)

Mike, Sarah, Grace, and Daniel
