Vincent Family May 2023 Missions Update

Greetings from Mexico,

I hope that you and yours had a wonderful Resurrection Sunday! Our church had a fantastic Easter week and in this update I want to tell you all about it. The theme of our Easter week was Living Hope (Esperanza Viva) and my main Bible text was taken from Luke chapter 24 and the message from the angels at the empty tomb that Jesus has risen and He is alive!

At Calvary Rosarito, we love to make Easter a week-long celebration. We do that by having daily devotions during the week that teach about the important events in Jerusalem of Jesus’ final week alive. Of course this culminates in Good Friday where we worshipped with a concert. Our worship team (along with my son Daniel) led us into God’’s presence as we remembered the cross and the love that Jesus has for us!

At the weekend services we had plenty of fun activities for the entire family. This included a delicious food court, Themed Photo booths, and a super fun clown show for the kids featuring an amazing professional clown family (Vida Clown) that attend our church.

The focus of the weekend were our church services, and we were blessed to host our largest (post-covid) crowd in 3 years! Nearly 1600 friends joined us live for our Easter services and 50 of them were first time visitors.  We also had about 20 first time professions of faith, and it never get’s old seeing people respond to God’s free offer of salvation through Jesus Christ.

For me personally, this Easter was a family affair. We not only had my parents in town with us, but also my daughter Grace who moved out a few months ago up to the US to get a job and lives with Sarah’s mom in Hesperia. (Our first child to fly the coup) It was a blessing to have all of us together (including Sarah’s parents, Ted and Diane, and Mitch and his family) for a Easter family lunch after service.

The truth that Jesus is alive is a truth that changed the history of the world! And in my Easter teaching, I reminded our church of five reasons that the resurrection brings us a living hope, and I wanted to share these reasons with you as well!

#1- The resurrection reminds us that we no longer have to fear death. #2- The Resurrection allowed us to receive the Holy Spirit. #3- The Resurrection reminds us that there is glory and crowns on the other side of the crosses (trials) of life. #4- The Resurrection reminds us that in the same way Jesus resurrected, we will too! And #5- The Resurrection reminds us that Jesus is Alive!

Once again I want to thank you for your partnership over these past 21 years on the mission field of Mexico. It is through your prayers, that God meet’s our spiritual needs, and through your financial giving that God meets our physical needs. We love you!

Con mucho amor de Mexico,  (with much love from Mexico)

Mike, Sarah, Grace, and Daniel
