Vincent Family September 2019 Missions Update

Greetings from Mexico,

In this month’s mission’s letter, I wanted to give you an update on my son Daniel, who just turned 17 and is beginning his Senior year of high-school as a homeschooler! Daniel was just 2 weeks old when we moved to Mexico to plant the church, and he is Mexican in every way except for his skin color!

Daniel has also become famous around our church because when the doors are open for any event, Daniel can usually be found there serving, and laughing, and enjoying his friends! Sarah and I have also been blessed by Daniel’s servant’s heart! Daniel began serving at the church as a children’s ministry helper at just 10 years old. The last two years, Daniel has moved on to become a leader in our church’s high energy kids worship time that we call Kidz Praise!

Daniel has also self taught himself piano, and grown into an accomplished piano player. Presently, Daniel is serving in the youth group as the main keyboardist on our church’s youth worship team. Our youth lead our congregation in worship one Wednesday a month, and one of my greatest joys as a father, was presenting the message of salvation in the sanctuary, while my son Daniel accompanied me playing some background worship music on the keyboard!

Daniel’s other joy is basketball! Unfortunately, I didn’t do a very good job of getting him to love my LA Lakers, and for some strange reason, he has become a dedicated Houston Rockets fan! But Daniel doesn’t only follow the NBA, he has also become an accomplished basketball player in his own right!

A few of you might know that way back in the day, I was a college basketball player at Pacific Christian College (now HOPE) , and I even was blessed to set a couple of their scoring records. Well Daniel has now become the best basketball player in the family, and I can’t even keep up with him in our 3 point shooting competitions anymore.

Daniel has been playing in the local city adult league, and is also on the main youth basketball team in our city! We have talked often together about the importance of being a Christian witness to these other players, and one of them is now regularly coming to church!

Recently, Daniel and I had the privilege of traveling with some friends to visit our new church plant in Oaxaca City! While there, we were blessed to move the church into a new large building, and also host a 2 day Biblical Counseling Conference.

Throughout the conference, Daniel was in charge of leading the children’s ministry, and he did a fantastic job with the children. He also assisted me on the keyboard while leading the new church in worship. I am so thankful and blessed to have Daniel as my son. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for him over the years, I believe that God has great future plans in the ministry for him!

Finally, I want to thank you once again for partnering with us here in the ministry! It is through your prayers that God meets our spiritual needs, and through your financial partnership, that God meets our material needs. We are honored and blessed to serve the Lord as your missionaries here in the ripe fields of Mexico!

Con mucho amor de Mexico,  (with much love from Mexico)
