Dear friends, family, and other faithful prayer and financial supporters,
Thank you for FIFTEEN years of faithful prayer and financial support of our ministry work in Mexico. When we moved to Mexico back in the summer of 2002, we could never have dreamed what the Lord had in store for us! And as we reflect back today, we stand amazed at what God has done here in the hearts and lives of this community. We can only refer to the promise given to us in Ephesians 3:20, that our God ” is able to do exceedingly above all that we could ask or think!”
Having only six local adults come to our first service in that small home Bible study, God has grown our church to a place where we now minister to twelve hundred people every weekend! And there are many more in our community that consider us their church home, and depend on us for assistance and encouragement during their own times of crisis.
Over the years, our church has moved four separate times, and each time God has eventually blessed us to outgrow each facility! Throughout each of these moves, we continued to believe that God could do even greater things, so we never considered purchasing any of those smaller church properties.
But 5 years ago, God brought us to our present 15,000 square feet facility centrally located on the Rosarito toll road! Some of you might remember the dirty graffiti covered and neglected industrial building that our people, along with many gifts from you, were able to turn into a beautiful fully equipped worship center.
This coming summer we will not only celebrate our 15 year ministry anniversary, but we are now facing a new and unique challenge! The 5-year lease to our beautiful facility runs out! The owner wants to sell and has given us the opportunity to purchase the building or move on to find another location to gather. After praying together, our family and church leadership believe that now is the time for us to step out in faith and ask God to do a miracle! And we believe that God wants to bring many partners together (both locally from our Mexico church facility and stateside friends) to purchase this facility!
Will you join us in praying, as we prepare to raise the funds to be able to finally purchase and call our church home ours? Our local congregation has already begun to give to this project, and they have given generously and sacrificially, but there is only so much that a Mexico church can do! Also, on Saturday evening July 1st, we will be hosting the “Make our church home ours” dinner up in Yorba Linda, California. (Orange County area)
At this banquet, I (Mike) will be giving a slideshow history of our church, and share about the amazing things that God has done through our local church, and the 15 church plants that we have sent out! But the focus of this banquet will be on presenting this great partnership opportunity to our friends and supporters. Please be praying with us that God will bring the people with the faith and resources to meet this challenge.
