The time has finally arrived … 

I want to thank you all for your prayers, encouragement, and support!

After months of prayer, planning and preparation the students and leaders of Calvary School of Mission 2023, joined together at CC Saving Grace for a wonderful time of prayer, sending us out on our journey to Mexico.

VISAS FOR ALL!

After church we loaded up our vehicles and drove from Yorba Linda to the San Ysidro border crossing.

First stop as we crossed into Mexico was to take care of some official business, purchasing Mexican Visitor’s Permit visas for the team. 

Fortunately, we beat most of the tourist traffic and the process went very smoothly. In a short time with visas in hand, we continued our drive through Tijuana and south along the coast to Rosarito, where our school will be stationed for the next 4 weeks.

Our Home away from home in Rosarito

Rosarito’s Connections House, owned and run by my friends Ron and Kristy Struska, will be our home and school base for the next 4 weeks. The Connections House, opened in 2016, is a multi-level property they have designed and built specifically to house large mission teams like our CSOM gang. In addition to their great hospitality, making us all feel “right at home,” the Struska’s have had years of experience coordinating outreach opportunities in the surrounding communities, which makes this a great training headquarters for the Baja Mexico portion of our school.

Class begins!

I am so grateful to be joining these amazing men and women God has brought to the School of Missions. It has been fun meeting many of the students and having the opportunity to hear their unique stories of how the Lord has directed them to the school. 

Classes began early Monday morning with Pastor Trent encouraging us to not set expectations for what we need to learn, but enter into the teaching as a blank slate…ready for the Lord to write His directions on our hearts as we explore what the Bible says about Missions and being followers of Jesus, open to what He has for us and where He directs us to go.

Just a couple days in and I can already tell this is going to be an amazing experience!
