Boy has this been an interesting year. But I thought that I would use this update to remove our focus from the craziness around us and remember how amazing our God is. God has been faithful and is moving in amazing ways, so please, read on if you want to partner with me in all the amazing things that He has been doing.
Shortly after returning from our vision tour to the Middle East, the whole world shut down and it’s almost as if God had pressed a big pause button. Streets were empty so suddenly, there was almost nothing left on the shelves in the supermarkets and we were all left with nothing, but our faith and hope and God, but oh how wonderful it is to have to only rely on that. During our time in “quarantine,” I was blessed to be able to continue to work, but beside that God used that time in my life to draw me nearer to Him! With so much extra time, I added extra readings to my daily Bible readings, as well as longer time simply sitting in silence and meditating on His word! I almost wished that the quarantine would last forever, but as things started opening up, I found that I was still able to do those things, with ease. It just took a little more discipline that I wasn’t using before. However, God is starting to open up the world for us again to go out there and reach the lost and hurting!
I would like to thank you all for your prayer and financial support in helping reach the Middle East, and it fills me with joy to inform you that the Lord was speaking, and I know that I will return. I was able to get a rough estimate as to what it would take financially to live out there. And I was able to get a small taste, like one of those Costco samples of what ministry would look like out there. And let me tell you that it was delicious, and that it made me want to go back for more. However, ministry out there would be very slow among non-believers, almost like having to allow something to thaw. I was able to see that in order to reach the people there, it takes time, patience and love. When visiting their homes, we must submit ourselves to their manners, which are different at times to the manners seen in western countries. Not only that, but they love to communicate in the form of stories. I was amazed to see our translator go from story to story in the Bible in order to get a point across to the refugees that we were with and how they understood what he had to see. They never interrupted, they simply listened to the story till the end, and then they gave either a look of acceptance to his words, or they expressed their concerns with what he was trying to say. Now ministry with the believers is another thing that I very much look forward to. They are so filled with the joy of the Lord. And ministering to them would come in the form of teaching them the word of God!
God placed the call on my heart to be a pastor a year ago, before going to the School of Missions, and I am so amazed at all the opportunities that He has given me in just the last couple of months for teaching. Shortly after returning from the Middle East, I had gone out to Utah to announce the School of Missions at a conference out there. While I was there, the Lord placed on my heart to ask pastor Trent if I could join them in Mexico for the school. To my amazement, he told me that they had been previously praying for someone who could go with them as a guys’ dorm leader. So I am now on track to go to Mexico with the school once again on July 6th. Oh how faithful our God is. Not only that, but I have also been given the opportunity to be a part of the amazing team of guys who have been leading the morning devotions over the past couple of weeks, and we plan on continuing strong. Please continue to pray that the Lord would anoint me for the work that He has placed before me and that I may continue to be faithful to Him, His call and His word.
Thank you for joining me through all this, for your prayers and your support. I am excited to continue this partnership that the Lord has allowed us to be a part of. Thank you also for taking the time to read this and I pray that the Lord may continue to bless you, keep you and fill you with His joy and peace. Stay tuned for more updates to come!
For His glory,
- God has allowed me to return to the School of Missions as a leader
- God has been opening the door for me to teach His word
- Pray that the Lord would provide financially as I have been laid off due to the pandemic.
- Pray that I may continue to be faithful to the calling that the Lord has placed on my life and that I may be able to grow in the knowledge of His word so that I may be able to teach His word faithfully.
