We Walk By Faith

Greetings in Jesus’ name!

We have been praying for you all, and we believe that you are doing well by His grace. We are so thankful to you, for your constant prayers for us and the ministry in our country. We are doing well here, in spite of the increase of Covid-19 cases in our country.

These past few months have really not been good humanly speaking. We have seen many of our Christian friends and relatives go to be with the Lord. More than this, so many non-Christians have died during these last two or three months. We are sorry about the death of unbelievers because they are lost forever. We urge you to please pray for the unbelieving Christians (Christians in name only) and non-Christians: that before departing from this world they would accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Burial Service for Our Church Member

One of the members of our church also went to be with the Lord this month. He was a first generation Christian. His wife died last year in November and five months later he died. His wife did not die due to Covid-19, but this brother died due to Covid-19.

His younger son and his family are also followers of Jesus. The villagers are pressuring this family to come back to the Hindu faith. Villagers say, “If you were Hindus, your parents would have not died. Disown Jesus and come back to the Hindu faith.”

Last week, they sent two policemen to this family to pressure them to perform Hindu rituals for the dead. Praise the Lord! This family remained strong in their faith. Though we are not allowed to visit any families during this lock-down, I was able to go and visit this family, encourage them, and pray with them.

Recording Online Church Services

Since we are not allowed to gather together to worship, we are doing our worship services online. Besides our weekly church service, we have a daily meeting with our co-workers Monday thru Thursday from 12 to 1:30 and on Fridays we have fasting prayer together. We also keep in touch with the church members by calling them on the phone. I am also busy translating an English commentary on Acts into our national language.

Physically, my wife and I are not doing well. My wife has severe back pain. When she takes medicine and rests, she gets some relief. But after a day or two, she has the same problem again.

Please Pray For:

  • The pandemic situation in our country
  • For God’s protection over His people
  • For the family that is being pressured by the villagers to reconvert to Hinduism
  • For our health
  • For our daughter. She is a trained nurse and has been working with Covid patients.

Thank you so much for standing with us and for your partnership in ministry.

The Lord Sustains Us

Dear prayer partners and supporters,

Spending Time With My Mother

Thank you for constant prayers and support. We appreciate that you are standing with us in prayers and extending financial support to us even during this tough situation which is affecting everyone due to the Corona virus.

My mother lives with my sister about 6 hours away. We were able to see my mother and celebrate her 92nd birthday. She has trouble hearing, so we could not talk to her much but we were able to spend time with her.

Some families from our church are being persecuted by their village. The government has some programs that help provide villagers work. The Christians are not allowed to work in the village. They are also not given any of the privileges that they should have for being members of the village.

God’s Word Was Shared at the Wedding

The daughter of one of the Christian families was married last month. We prayed that the village people would not cause any problem for the Christian wedding. Praise the Lord! The wedding was wonderful. The weather was cloudy and it rained in surrounding areas, but it did not rain in the village until the wedding program was over and every one was gone.

Helping with the Wedding

Persecution is increasing in our area. Christian leaders and new believers in Jesus are beaten. But, the Spirit of God is also changing lives. More and more Hindus are believing in Jesus. Thank you everyone for praying for the 10/40 window. God is answering the prayers of His faithful ones.

Our Hope in Jesus Is Certain

The Christian Burial of a Woman From Our Church

Greetings to you all! Merry Christmas! Praise be to God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ for sustaining us and providing all of our needs even in this time of the pandemic. Thank you for your prayers and financial support. We have been praying for you–that the Lord would supply all of your needs and keep you and your family safe.

This pandemic has affected every one in the world. Nothing seems to be certain. Praise God that our hope in Jesus is certain!  The day of his return is near. He came into this world two thousand years ago as a baby and we are preparing to celebrate his birth, but now He is coming to take us, His bride, home. Let us hold on to this sure promise of the Lord and be ready to meet Him.

Praise the Lord! We were able to have a Christian Funeral

Last month one woman from our church, who was around 60 years old, went to be with the Lord.  She had been ill, but not seriously ill. She was a first generation Christian. Her husband also comes to church and her younger son and his family are believers in Jesus, but her older son and his family are not. We thought that the village people would create a problem for her funeral ceremony, but they did not. Praise the Lord! These days are not easy for Christians in our country and especially for new believers.
We are still doing audio teachings for our students. We are not sure yet when government will allow schools and colleges to reopen.
Please pray for us and the ministry in our country.

Thank you so much for your partnership in the ministry of the Gospel.

God bless you,

The Lord is My Deliverer

So sorry that it has been so long since we have written. We are doing well. We pray that the Lord will keep you safe as the whole world is going through this pandemic.

We had one week left to finish our fourth semester of the Bible college when a total lockdown was imposed in our country. Immediately, we had to send the students home.  Now the lockdown has been lifted, with some restrictions, but we still can not reopen the Bible college. All schools and colleges are closed.  We can not reopen Bible college this year. When other schools and colleges open then we will also be able to start our new semester.

We can’t gather together for Sunday Service yet. We are having online services.  Praise the Lord for technology! Online service is a blessing. Many non-Christian friends are able to join with us for our Sunday services and are hearing the Gospel!  We pray that these non-Christian friends will believe in Jesus and call upon His name and be saved.

We have been going through some hard times in life. Persecution broke out in the North where our son was. Our son was taken to the police station and flogged (beaten) by the police. He was charged with converting people (to Christianity) with foreign aid. He was continually harassed by the police, but no Christian stood with him. Finally, we had to take him out from there. Now he is with us. Our local co-workers there have been harassed by political people, anti-Christian groups and police. Now, the Lord heard our prayers and the situation is better.

The people (who were harassing our friends in the North) have some photos of us and our local workers with our American friends and with Christian literature. They have gotten these from Facebook. Please do not post any photos of you with any of us. We need your prayers.

Thank you for your prayers and support!

Ever Shout for Joy

Praise the Lord! We thank the Lord for the wonderful work that He has been doing in and through us! 2020 has been going well so far. The Lord has been blessing us and the ministry.  We are so thankful to you for standing with us in your prayers and supporting us financially!

We enjoyed our time with our son, pastor 9. He was with us for about twenty days. We celebrated his 25th birthday together. We thank the Lord for our son. He is such a blessing to us.  The Lord has been using him for His glory in the Mountains. We would request that you continue to uphold him in your prayers.

The hall that we have rented for the Sunday Service has become too small for us, as the Lord has been adding more souls to our Sunday Worship Service. Some of the believers have to sit in a room attached to the hall. These new believers are from Catholic and Hindu backgrounds. We are praying that the Lord will help us buy a piece of land to build a worship place large enough to accommodate more people. Please pray for the funds to purchase the land.

People from other churches are also attending our Friday Bible Study. We meet for the Bible Study in our home. Since more and more people are coming to the Bible Study, the room at our home is not big enough (even though it is 22 feet long and 12 feet wide) to hold more people. We may have to move the Bible Study to the same hall where we hold Sunday Services.

We had been praying for a long time for a property for our Pastors School, and the Lord has provided a property for us. Praise the Lord! Most likely, we will be able to buy the land by the end of this month. We plan to conduct our graduation ceremony at the property on April 4th. Our students have been working hard to prepare a stage and clear the ground for the graduation ceremony.

My wife and I are doing well. Our son and daughter are also doing well. Our daughter has completed her nursing degree and is working as an intern in the same hospital she studied in. She will be completing her one-year internship in April, and she is looking for a job. Please pray that the Lord will help her find a job. It is our desire that she work as a missionary nurse, and that is what she wants to do also.

Thank you for your partnership in the ministry of the Gospel.

Blessed Be My Rock

Happy New Year to you all! We pray that the Lord will bless you with His peace, joy and all heavenly blessings.  We want to thank you for partnering with us in spreading the Gospel in our country in 2019. We hope you will continue to partner with us in the work of Gospel this year as well.

In our Bible Study on Fridays, we finished 3rd John.  We had a potluck meal, and with that we finished the Bible study for 2019. We will begin again in January 2020. We will study the book of Jude.

We had both sweet and sour experiences during the month of December. We had our Christmas outreach program on December 17th. We invited people for the program and presented the Gospel to them through skits and Gospel songs. I preached the Gospel and gave the opportunity to people to respond to the Word.  We cannot ask people to come forward because of the persecution here, but I asked them to pray the prayer of confession and receive Jesus in their lives. We also distributed New Testaments to the audience. During the program, we served them tea. Then after the program, we had a Christmas dinner.

I was invited to be a chief guest for a Christmas program at St. X. Senior Secondary School. I was given time to address the students and teachers. I praise the Lord that I could share the Gospel with them.

We arranged a program for the children who live in the area where we hold our Sunday Service. Many Christian and non-Christian children came and enjoyed dance, games and the Christmas story. They were given gifts and a book called “Who is Jesus?”.

We had some sour experiences as well.  After our Christmas program, many of our students became ill.  They had diarrhea and also vomiting. Eight of them had to be hospitalized in the local hospital, and the next day they were moved to the district hospital (city hospital). They were there for one day and one night.  Praise the Lord!  They all got well and went home for the Christmas holiday.

Our co-worker Pastor 3 was in an accident and got a hairline crack in his palm in his little finger bone. My wife and I also became ill during the last week of December.

We had a wonderful time New Year’s Eve night.  We also had dinner together.  We met for prayer at 7:30 PM and ended at 12:30.  We entered the New Year with prayer and thanksgiving.

Please continue to uphold us in your prayers, that we would be effective witnesses for the Lord in 2020.

Thank you for your prayers and financial gifts!

Sharing God’s Great Love

Merry Christmas to you all from our family! Praise the Lord for His great love, that He has loved us with!

We are busy preparing for our Christmas program to share the great love of God with the village people. We are going to invite the whole village for our Christmas program on December 17th. Last year, two hundred people came for the program, and we hope that this year we will have more people. Please pray that we will be able to present the Gospel through drama, dance, Christmas songs, and the message.

Last month, we had a wonderful time with our Pastors who visited us! It was a time of refreshment and blessing. We were blessed with their fellowship and with their words of encouragement. We also attended a three day conference. Some of our students had never seen a train before. It was a new experience for them to travel by train for 48 hours one way. Most of the students are from Hindu backgrounds, and they had never attended such a conference. They were exposed to a much bigger world.

I am overjoyed not only because I had the opportunity to share the Word at this conference, but more than that, that my son, Pastor 9, was my interpreter. What a joy it was to serve the Lord with my son from the same platform! Some of you can know the joy I felt, if you have had the experience of serving the Lord with your child or parent from the same platform for the first time.

When we came back from the conference, I went to teach during a three-day meeting in a church. This church was celebrating their 7th anniversary. People were blessed by the Word of God. The pastor of the church called me a few days later and told me, “People are still talking about the teaching they heard. They are saying that for the first time, we heard the pure Word of God.” We need your constant prayers for us, that we will preach and teach the Word unadulterated. Pray that we would not preach what people want to hear, but what the Word says.

Thank you so much for partnering with us in the ministry of the Gospel through your prayers and gifts. May the Lord’s special blessings be upon you and on your family as you celebrate the birth of our Savior, and may He make you channels of His blessings to the unsaved ones!

God bless you!

Hungry Hearts for God’s Pure Word

Praise the Lord for opening new doors to serve Him in other churches as well! I was invited to share the Word during a one-day Family Retreat organized by a church in a big city. I spoke during three different sessions. The Lord used me in a very powerful way to touch the lives of the people there. People were blessed by the Word of God. Many people came to me afterward, to share their testimonies of how they had been blessed.

They said that they were blessed because I did not tell them a story; rather, I spoke from the Word–it was the message that they needed to hear. All glory be to the Lord! The same church that hosted the Family Retreat has their church’s anniversary in November. They are having a three-day convention from November 15-17, and I have been invited to share the Word during these meetings. Please pray that those who have heard the Word during the Family Retreat will apply the Word to their lives, and their families will be restored and their children will be saved. Please pray that the Lord will give me His Word and anointing to preach on November 15, 16 and 17 during the church anniversary meetings.

Thank you all for your prayers for my oral surgery. One of my wisdom teeth was removed. It was a two hour and fifteen minute surgery. For four to five days, I could only eat soft food, mostly liquids. I could hardly open my mouth for about a week. The doctor gave me an exercise that helped me to open my mouth gradually. I am doing well now, but I still have pain in my jaw. My other teeth are also painful. I need to get root canals in some of these teeth.

The Pastors School students are doing well. They are enjoying learning the Word. We are thankful for the Pastors who are able teach us on Skype. Last month, most of our students became ill because of the different climate here, but now they are well. On November 2, we will be going to another state for a seminar, and all of the students are very excited. Some of the students have never traveled by train. It will be their first time to travel by train.

In our Friday Bible Study, we are on chapter 5 of 1 John. Verse by verse Bible study is new for the Christians here. They are now understanding the Word. We have our Sunday worship in a rented hall. The Pastors School students have more opportunities to take part in the Worship Service.

My wife had the privilege to share the Word for a one-day Women’s Meeting. There were about three hundred women at the gathering. The meeting was to encourage women to grow in the Lord and make disciples. In our area, there is a great revival among women. More women are coming to the Lord than men.

Thank you for being part of the ministry of the Gospel through your prayers and support!

Training Up Bold Witnesses for Jesus

We are so grateful to the Lord for His grace that sustains us, leads us, and empowers us to the work of the Gospel. Thank you all for upholding us in your prayers! So much is going on in this country, and the things are getting worse and worse for the non-Hindus. We have been kept safe thus far by the Lord’s grace. Please continue to keep us in your prayers, that no matter what the situation is, we will be His bold witnesses, and that the Lord will give us wisdom to do His work.

I have been suffering from an acute toothache. I had root canals for two teeth, but the problem remains the same. So, I was advised to get an oral x-ray. The x-ray shows that both of my wisdom teeth are growing inside my gums horizontally. They are pressing on the roots of my molar teeth on both sides of my mouth. The doctor advised me to have a CBCT scan so that he can decide what kind of surgery to perform to take out the wisdom teeth. I had to wait for a whole week to get the test, because I had to go to the capital city for the CBCT scan, as it is not available in our town. Monday to Friday we have classes, and we have Saturdays off. I am still waiting for my CBCT scan report; I have the CD of the scan, but the written report will be sent by email. Next week, the doctor will likely do surgery to remove one of the wisdom teeth, and then later he will remove the second one. Please pray for me.

Teaching English The Pastors School students are doing well. Some of the students are first generation Christians. They face many problems in their villages from their families, other villagers and from their tribes/community. One of the students lost his father couple months ago, and this month he lost his uncle (father’s brother). The student is the only believer in his family; the rest of his family members are Hindu. Before becoming a believer in Jesus, this student was possessed with an evil spirit, and was like a mad man. His parents gave him to a Hindu sorcerer to deliver him from the evil spirit. The sorcerer kept him in his house with other demon-possessed people. This student’s condition was getting worse and worse. Near the house of this sorcerer, there was a Christian family. Very often, there were Christian meetings in that family’s house. The student could hear the songs that were sung in the meetings. God began working in his life, and he escaped from the sorcerer’s bondage. Then, by the prayers of Christians, he was delivered from the evil spirit! He surrendered his life to the Lord and became a follower of Jesus! It is not easy to forsake one’s gods and become a Christian. During these times, the new believers are forced to take part in Hindu rituals. Praise the Lord for the faith of these believers, who stand firm in their faith and do not compromise with their faith.

Thank you so much for your prayers and sacrificial gifts.

Pouring Ourselves Out for Jesus Who Gave His All for Us

Hello Dear Prayer Partners and Financial Supporters!

Thank you so much for standing with us through your prayers and support. We appreciate your partnership in the ministry of the Gospel. Through your prayers and support, we are able to reach out to the people of our country with the Gospel.

We are doing well. We have long days of ministry; we get tired as we leave our home at 8 am and come back at 7 pm. On Thursdays, we do not reach home until 10 pm. But the Lord is our strength! He gives us grace to do what He has called us to do. I am enjoying teaching the Gospel of Mark and the book of Hebrews in our Pastors School, and the book of 1 John in Bible Study class on Friday nights, and the book of Genesis in our Sunday Services. I am busy studying to learn from the Lord and to give to His people what He gives me. I am very much blessed by the Lord through His Word.

We have rented a hall in town for our Sunday Service. We began church services in July. I have been teaching from the book of Genesis. I use PowerPoint to display the teaching. This is not done here in any other church. It requires a lot of time to type my teachings in Hindi for Friday Bible Study and for Sunday Service. But I love preparing these notes, because they can be printed in a book form in the future, and the book will be a blessing for many people who speak our language.

New people are attending our Friday Bible Study and our Sunday Services. Those who come for these fellowships go home and invite their friends to come. People are hungry for the Word, but they are not fed in their churches.

The Pastors School students are doing well. We have 26 students this year; 14 are in their second year, and 12 in their first year. Our class room is not big enough. It is so full that we have to stand next to the wall while we are teaching. The Lord has given us some non-believer students also, and He uses us to lead them the Him! Last year, we had two students who were not believers, and they accepted the Lord while going to Pastors School! This year, we also have one student who is not a believer. He had never gone to church and never heard the Gospel. He is a Hindu man. We believe that soon he will surrender his life to the Lord.

Prayer Requests:

  • Please pray for our Friday Bible Study and Sunday Services, that the Lord will continue to add people in these fellowships. Pray for the man in the Pastors School who is a Hindu, that he will accept Jesus in his life.
  • Pray for me, that the Lord will use me to bless His people with His Word.
  • Pray for God’s wisdom and strength to do the ministry.
  • Pray for God’s protection over us.
  • Pray for the needs of the Pastors School.

Thank you so much for partnering with us in His ministry!
