Living in a Dump!?

Hello again Friends and Family!

We are having an amazing time here in Mexico at CSOM. this week has been packed with lots of mission classes, missioners sharing their testimony, worship and prayer for the nations, outreaches, and much more. There is no way to fit it all into this letter. It’s been wonderful for both Olivia and I as we grow in our service to God as a married couple.

We went on 3 outreaches this week. the first was an outreach at a dump. I know this sounds crazy, and it is, but there are people living in the dump here in Mexico. This reminds me of the dump that I (Olivia) served at almost weekly for Sunday afternoon church service in Cambodia. Nathanael and I were able to visit that dump last year when we visited Cambodia. although we have both seen people living in a dump, it is still so heartbreaking and hard to see people living in this reality. We were blessed to be able to serve these people with the same love that Jesus loves us. We partnered with the local church Calvary Chapel Homex. This church goes to the dump often and shares Christ with them. We did a pop up church service and 2 people confessed Christ as Lord. One of them was a guy who was actually a satanic colt leader, so we praise God with great joy in our hearts for this soul that was snatched right out of darkness into the light of Christ!

The second outreach we were able to do was a park outreach. We went around the neighborhood and invited all the people around to come to the nearby park where we were had a clear presentation of the gospel, a skit, children’s programs, face painting, soccer, and more. Through this we were able to share the gospel individually with parents and children, and we were also able to witness one lady come to church on Sunday and confess Jesus as Lord!

the last outreach of the week was at a church nearby called Calvary Chapel La Gloria. there was a great turnout and we did a similar program as we did at the park outreach. Many people heard the word of God and seeds were planted and watered.

Some prayer requests we have include:

  • Please Pray that the seed fell on fertile soil and that those people would grow in the Lord and produce good fruit.
  • Please Pray that our marriage would continue to be strengthened.
  • Please Pray against sickness for our team as many of us are sick.
  • Please Pray that God would provide the finances we need to pay for the school

We would love to be keeping you in our prayers as well, so please let us know how we can be praying for you!

Thank you so much for reading our newsletter and for your prayers!

Till the last one knows,

Nathanael and Olivia Douglass
