As a family we have decided to visit the churches of our students and friends once a month to see how they are doing and to bring them some encouragement from Gods Word.  With the permission of each pastor we have also decided to allow you to join us on that journey so that you will be more informed as you think about and pray for the churches of Uganda.  We pray that these short Pastoral Bios would encourage you in your walk with God and that you would grow in your love for Jesus as you see how he is moving in the hearts of so many people!

Pastor Okidi Stephen was 9 years old when he was kidnapped by the LRA (Lord’s Resistance Army) and forced to fight in Kony’s rebellion.  Stephen was forced to fight for 6 years and during that time he was promoted to the rank of Major and was Kony’s treasurer.  After escaping Stephen Joined the Ugandan Military.  During that time God revealed Himself to Stephen and saved him.  God took a broken man who was enslaved to satan and turned him into a man after His own heart who loves people and advocates for life.  2 years after getting saved Stephen married Aloyo Margret and together they have 8 children.  

Calvary Chapel Opit was founded in 2008 in the village of Opit in the district of Omoro. Stephen became the pastor there in 2009. Close to 100 men women and children attend church there and are fed spiritually and God has used Stephens church to plant 3 branch churches.  Their passion is the Gospel of Jesus Christ and their vision is to preach the Gospel to all people.  Calvary Chapel Opit also has operates a primary school.
