Medical & The Massive Needs

Dear Family & Friends,

When there are just two of us, it is difficult at times to host large outreaches as we simply lack the manpower, resources and many of the talents necessary to meet the endless needs we encounter.  The past month in Nepal was a welcomed change for us as we joined with two short-term missions teams comprised of 33 people, representing 6 churches from 4 different countries.

The Worship and Medical Missions teams were able to host 2 worship leader conferences, an outreach concert, vacation bible school for children in the slums, Promise Child day in the village, pastors conference, women’s conference and a medical clinic for 4 days where 700+ patients were treated. It was a privilege to serve alongside such a committed team of people!

Bringing Medical to Many

It was an honor to pull up in a bus on the bumpy dirt road with doctors and nurses who sacrificed their busy schedules to descend upon Gidhenia Village where we lived for several months in 2012. The love and attention that was given to each person that came to the make shift medical clinic was astounding to watch as hundreds were treated each day.

The goal was not only to provide medical attention, but also to share about our great God who loves and desires a relationship with every person. A portion of our team was dedicated to sharing the good news with those who had never before heard of Jesus. One specific woman came to request prayer from Bond and another Pastor who was translating. At the end of their time together sharing about who Jesus is and what He had done for her, Bond asked “would you like to receive Jesus into your life?” She replied, “Jesus made such a great sacrifice for me, why would I not give my life to Him.”

She went on to share that she had many family members and friends that had not heard this message and was requesting that we come to her home to share these wonderful truths that she had just heard for the first time. Omprekesh attended the School of Ministry with us in Fall 2012 and we learned that he lived in the same village as the woman Bond prayed with. Bond was able to introduce this new believer to Omprekesh so that he could follow-up with her family.

This story was repeated countless times as our team shared, prayed, encouraged and loved on the precious people in East Nepal. It was awesome to see the lives of thousands of Nepali’s impacted both physically and spiritually as the good news went forth, people heard the Gospel for the first time EVER and many responded!

Compound Coming Together

We are in the preparation stage of cleaning and readying the new facility and future home of the Bible College and School of Worship in Kathmandu, Nepal. We have been reflecting back 10 years ago to the countless hours we spent renovating our first church building in Santee and how it was all worth it. Our vision is to see the Bible College established and filled with future pastors and leaders who will be trained up in the Word of God to reach their communities and villages.
