Hey y’all! We are officially done with week three of CSOM 24, God is moving and I’m so excited to see what God has for the next few weeks moving forward. Thank you all for the prayer and support! Can’t wait to see you guys soon!

We tend to live our lives in a bubble when it comes to other countries, especially because we don’t live there and it doesn’t really affect us directly. On October, 7th, 2023 Israel was attacked by Hamas, this attack involved armies from the Gaza strip sending attacks into southern Israel. Where Jewish people were raped, tourtured and killed. This is when my worldview changed forever… When I found out about the attacks in Israel I was shocked because I had no idea why the attacks were happening. I felt clueless why these things have been happening. I never really watched the news or listened to any type of politics because I thought it was better to stay out of it. Why? Because it was hard to face reality.

We had a pastor come and teach us this week, and it has impacted me a lot with the work he and his wife are doing in Africa. I have always had a heart for children. Hearing about all the horrible things going on to these children in Africa has been really hard for me to hear about. I decided to start doing research and find out the truth of what has been going on. After reading, I found out that there is a lot of sex trafficing, girls being married off young, and so much more than I can’t even begin to explain. In Africa, approximately around 40% of girls under the age of 15 are married off to their own relatives who are around the age of 40. Women are used to having as many children as they can so that they can use their children to be workers. 1.5 million marriages are polyamorous marriages in Africa, each man has over 5 wives each, so that they can have more and more child workers. Asentus “Danger” Akuku is a man who died at 94 years old with more than 100 wives, and 200 children in his lifetime. I always try and think about what if I was one of the 40%? What if my mom or sister was part of that 40%? I asked that God would break my heart for what breaks His. God has been working on my heart, hearing all of what’s going on has been breaking my heart more than I ever thought. Even though these woman do this for survival and protection it still breaks my heart. This is one of the many reasons we need to go and tell these people about the gospel.

I have gotten the amazing opportunity to teach the childrens ministry class at the park outreach with Calvary Chapel La Famila and God was working big time in my heart and using me for His glory. I got to teach on King David and Absolom and honestly I haven’t really heard the story before, but God worked through me and 4 kids got saved!! (all God)
Later that week I got to serve in the nursery 1st service at Calvary Chapel Ensenada and got to meet this amazing little boy named Santi and he is so adorable. He feel asleep in my arms and slept most of the time but I still got to show him the love of Jesus. Then second service i got to go into service but it was in all spanish. I couldn’t really understand that much but it gave me a taste of what its like to do missions in a place where you can’t understand their language.
