ABOUT

Hey friend!

So you want to know more about us, do you? That’s a tad stalker-ish…

We kid. We kid. Welcome to our blog! We are so glad you’re interested in missionary raising and supporting because, believe it or not, we’re passionate about that ourselves.

Isaac has the profound privilege of working alongside our Saving Grace World Missions missionaries from the home office and helps oversee the care teams at our church, Calvary Chapel Saving Grace (CCSG). He gets to build relationships with missionaries all over the world and then facilitate their care from the home front through prayer and practical support (do you live in a country that doesn’t sell Oreos? No problem, Isaac will bring you 5 boxes when he comes to visit you).

What is a care team, you ask? A group of missions-minded believers who meet together to pray over a specific missionary’s prayer requests for that month, but also pray throughout the month, reach out to the missionary, and simply love them through relationship. People who refuse to allow the old adage, “out of sight, out of mind” to be true of the missionaries we have sent. Care teams play an integral role in missionary furloughs as well; providing a place to stay, lending a car to drive, offering an airport pick up or drop off, meeting for coffee, inviting for dinner, etc. You can imagine how hard it can be for missionaries to navigate coming to the States, having sold everything for the sake of the Gospel and retaining little to nothing in the place that was once “home.” Care teams help supply the lack and Isaac helps organize the many details that go into that aspect of care.

Isaac also gets to pour into the missions training students (MTS) who are being raised up to GO. We believe that training is an essential and sometimes overlooked piece of the puzzle when it comes to longevity and success on the field. What differentiates the life-long missionary from the burnt-out, battered saint who comes home within the first three years of being sent out? We believe, proper training. The missions training students undergo a six-week intensive training program in Mexico which touches upon the Biblical grounds for missions, the cultural dilemmas missionaries often face, and other practical and theological topics pertaining to missions. During the rest of the year, the students serve in the ministries of our church and attend classes, including a preaching class which Isaac is a part of. He has the opportunity to listen to the students exposit a portion of Scripture and critique them so that they can improve and grow in their ability to teach the Word. In addition, Isaac meets regularly with some of the male MTS for discipleship.

Isaac is the youth director at our church and teaches through the Bible every Sunday and Wednesday. I serve alongside him in the youth ministry and have the joy of co-leading the Japan care team.

We’ve been married since the summer of 2020 and have an ever growing quiver of sons who are an absolute riot. If you want a good workout, feel free to come over and play with our kids, they’ll keep you busy for hours.

Well, that’s the gist of it, but we’d love to satisfy any further stalker-tendencies you may have. Just reach out and ask away.
