Before the Summer Simmers Down

Hey everyone! Wanted to share an update on what has happened the past few months.

Life has been moving along after returning from Africa. Only a few weeks after getting home we left to the mountains for our youth summer camp! We had an amazing time and we saw 3 people profess Christ during the week. We were so blessed by many different speakers coming up and sharing the word through Hebrews and we were also blessed by our good friends Rob and Colleen Myers taking our youth out on Big Bear Lake to inter tube! Everyone said that was the highlight of the camp.

This camp was the most Spirit-filled camp I’ve had the privilege to lead or be a part of. The teens were praying with each other and for each other, people were engaged in the teachings and it showed in our small groups, gospel conversations were frequent and many people returned home changed from their experience. Thank you to those who gave scholarships for this retreat, it literally saved people!

On the missions side of things, we have not slowed down here at Saving Grace. We’ve had 5 dessert gatherings this summer and 2 bbq update/sending nights. These are just times when missionaries share an update on what’s going on in their country or a time for those who are going to be sent out to update the body about the process of going. We got to send 3 people to the Middle East this summer! Pray with us that more people are raised up and sent out to the unreached!

The care teams have been going well and our leadership team is doing amazing. We just had a care team leadership meeting where we did some training and heard from a few missionaries about the importance of the care teams. If you are interested in signing up for one of the 10 care teams we have then please click HERE!

This summer we have also been able to go on 2 different prayer walks with LoveLife, a Gospel-centered organization that reaches out to those who want to have or are considering an abortion with resources and a way to keep their baby. The prayer walks are an amazing time for the church to get together and pray; no protesting, no yelling or screaming, just sitting outside a Planned Parenthood and praying for those who can’t defend themselves, the unborn. Join us in praying for the unborn and that the mothers and fathers who are considering an abortion find Jesus and find LoveLife. If you’re interested in coming on a prayer walk, please look at their website or join us on one of the upcoming walks our church partners on.

Another area of ministry I’ve been able to be involved in is FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) at some local high schools. Last year I helped run the FCA at YLHS (Yorba Linda High School), my alma mater, and this year I get the privilege of helping start a brand new FCA club at Brea Olinda High School! A great thing about this year is that one of our youth girls is a part of the leadership of the club which is an answer to prayer. Please pray that we can reach the local high schools with the gospel just like we are trying to reach the world with the gospel!

Praying, prepping, and planning for the new FCA

Lastly, a few life updates on the family. Hope has gotten into gardening and growing food and making more of our food from scratch. It’s been awesome and her food is super delicious! If you want to know more about that, Hope made an Instagram so please follow!

Fletcher fractured his thumb a few weeks ago and has a cast on right now. He hasn’t complained about pain but he has gotten his cast wet several times which means we have been to the hospital to get it replaced multiple times. Please pray he can keep it dry and that it heals up quickly!

Fletcher also began his first year of homeschool this month and is enjoying it. He actually asks Hope to do school most days. He also began speech therapy at Cal State Fullerton and is improving everyday.

Theo has grown a ton in his speech and is speaking really well for a 2 year old. He is making more friends at church and is growing every day! He also enjoys the new school routine and often joins in on Fletcher’s lessons.

Titus is now 8 months old and is standing up on things and crawling everywhere. We think he will start walking pretty soon. His big brothers love him and always want to hold him and play with him. He’s getting pretty tough because of these interactions with his brothers but pray that they are gentle with him.

Thank you for taking time to read this update! Please continue to pray for us and please consider partnering with us financially if the Lord leads. I am currently cleaning pools 2 or 3 days a week and working at the church 2 or 3 days a week. Our church is unable to maintain a living salary for me at the moment so we have made some other avenues of income. We would love to be back full-time at the church and your support would help us do that. We appreciate everyone and God bless!
