New Year, New Things

We were so grateful to welcome our beautiful baby girl into the world on January 13! We decided to name her Cristina Lizbeth, named after our moms (Kristy & Elizabeth). Thank you to our sending church Calvary Rosarito for allowing us to have her baby dedication there. Praise God we have her American passport now and now we just need to get her Mexico paperwork done (as well as Brittany’s & Kimmy’s). Also while we were in Rosarito God took our good friend Chuck home to Heaven. It was a sad time, but also beautiful to remember all of the sweet memories we had together. We returned to Calpulalpan the first week of February along with Kristy (Brittany’s mom) to help us get situated in our new house.
At the church we were able to do a marriage dinner for the couples for Valentine’s Day. It was a sweet time of fellowship and encouragement to keep striving to be a better spouse every day.
We also in April had our church’s 2nd anniversary! Praise God for the full church service we had, for the 87 adults and 20 kids who came, for the time of food and fellowship, for the 6 people who were baptized, and for how God is moving and working here in Calpulalpan!
It has been such a blessing to see the people in our church grow into servants and leaders. Taking steps of faith and trying new things. Two new things that we did with our church was: a prayer retreat and a missions trip! The prayer retreat was a sweet time of studying, praying, and worshiping surrounded by God’s beautiful creation. We are so grateful and proud of each person who stepped out in faith to go on the mission’s trip. 7 out of the 10 people who went on the trip are all youth from our youth group! It was a blessing to see how God used each of them in a special way on the mission trip to Calvary Cocoyoc. We look forward to the many mission trips that we will be doing in the future Lord willing.
Of course we had to have a celebration for Dia del niño (Day of the kids)! All of the children ministry leaders and servants put together games for the kids like a little carnival. They won tickets at each game and got to redeem them for prizes at the prize table! Praise God we were also able to a special breakfast for the moms in the church for Mother’s day. Sister Esme shared a devotional, sister Dennis had a sweet craft for everyone, sister Estef made a delicious breakfast. Such a sweet time together sharing the many ups and downs of motherhood and encouraging one another.
Another first time thing we did was a men’s retreat! There was about 22 men who went on the retreat, from our church, from Calvary Cocoyoc, and a few other friends as well. They had a blast playing games, cooking carne asada and burgers, time for Bible studies from various people, time of worship, and simply a time of fellowship together.
Praise Reports:
- Our baby girl Cristina was born healthy with no complications
- We celebrated our 2nd anniversary with our church
- The Sunday service was getting so full that now we have 2 services on Sundays!
Prayer Requests:
- For God to provide and help us with the planning for the Youth Camp in August
- For the servants and leaders in the church to continue strong and keep growing spiritually
- For our family adjusting to being a family of 5 now
- For God to guide Brian on how to train up those who God choses to be the assistant pastors

Año Nuevo, Cosas Nuevas
Estuvimos muy agradecidos de dar la bienvenida al mundo a nuestra hermosa bebé el 13 de Enero. Decidimos llamarla Cristina Lizbeth, en honor a nuestras mamás (Kristy y Elizabeth). Gracias a nuestra iglesia, Calvario Rosarito, por permitirnos celebrar la dedicación de nuestra bebé allí. Gracias a Dios, ya tenemos su pasaporte Estadounidense y ahora solo nos falta completar sus trámites para México (al igual que los de Brittany y Kimmy). Además, mientras estábamos en Rosarito, Dios se llevó a nuestro buen amigo Chuck al cielo. Fue un momento triste, pero también hermoso recordar todos los dulces recuerdos que compartimos juntos. Regresamos a Calpulalpan la primera semana de Febrero con Kristy (la mamá de Brittany) para ayudarnos a instalarnos en nuestra nueva casa.
En la iglesia, pudimos celebrar una cena de matrimonios para las parejas el Día de San Valentín. Fue un momento bonito de compañerismo y ánimo para seguir esforzándonos por ser mejores cónyuges cada día.
¡En Abril también celebramos el segundo aniversario de nuestra iglesia! ¡Alabado sea Dios por el servicio completamente lleno que tuvimos, por los 87 adultos y 20 niños que vinieron, por el tiempo de comida y compañerismo, por las 6 personas que se bautizaron y por cómo Dios está obrando aquí en Calpulalpan!
Ha sido una gran bendición ver a los miembros de nuestra iglesia crecer como siervos y líderes, dando pasos de fe y probando cosas nuevas. Dos cosas nuevas que hicimos con nuestra iglesia fueron: ¡un retiro de oración y un viaje misionero! El retiro de oración fue un tiempo hermoso para estudiar, orar y adorar rodeados de la hermosa creación de Dios. Estamos muy agradecidos y orgullosos de cada persona que dio un paso de fe para ir al viaje misionero. ¡Siete de los diez participantes eran jóvenes de nuestro grupo de jovenes! Fue una bendición ver cómo Dios los usó cada uno de ellos de manera especial en el viaje misionero a Calvario Cocoyoc. Esperamos con ansias los muchos viajes misioneros que realizaremos en el futuro, si Dios quiere.
¡Claro que teníamos que celebrar el Día del Niño! Todos los líderes y siervos del ministerio infantil organizaron juegos para los niños, como si fuera una pequeña feria. Ganaron boletos en cada juego y los canjearon por premios en la mesa de premios. ¡Gracias a Dios, también pudimos ofrecer un desayuno especial para las mamás de la iglesia por el Día de las Madres! La hermana Esme compartió un devocional, la hermana Dennis preparó una manualidad para todos y la hermana Estef preparó un desayuno delicioso. Fue un momento muy dulce compartiendo los altibajos de la maternidad y animándonos mutuamente.
Otra de nuestras actividades nuevas fue un retiro de hombres. Asistieron unos 22 hombres; de nuestra iglesia, de Calvario Cocoyoc y algunos otros amigos. Se divirtieron muchísimo jugando, cocinando carne asada y hamburguesas, con estudios bíblicos de varias personas, tiempo de adoración y simplemente un momento de compañerismo.

- Para que Dios nos provea y nos ayude con la planificación del Campamento Juvenil en Agosto.
- Para que los siervos y líderes de la iglesia se mantengan fuertes y sigan creciendo espiritualmente.
- Para que nuestra familia se adapte a ser ahora una familia de 5.
- Para que Dios guíe a Brian en el entrenamiento de quienes Dios elige para ser pastores asistentes.
