God-Controlled Change

God has been moving and doing great things here in Calpulalpan. Praise God we had our second baptisms, and there were 4 youth/young adults who were baptized! It is so sweet to see our church family grow and take steps in their faith. (Click here for more pictures)

Alexandra, Andrea, Bianca, and David stepped out in faith and got baptized! Also thank you Calvary Rosarito for providing our first 20 baptism t-shirts!

We were able to do a fun summer outing with the church as well. We went to a nearby park where we played water balloon volleyball, swam in the pools, played soccer and volleyball, had a carne asada, had a time of worship and a devotional. It was a sweet time of fellowship between us all and we got to know each other better. (Click here for more pictures)

After almost 4 years of Brian’s father struggling with kidney failure disease, on October 1st of this year he passed away due to an infection in his catheter. It has been a very difficult, sad and exhausting time for our entire family and especially for Brian’s mother who was always taking care of her husband. We know and have faith that one day we will see him again in Heaven. We have peace and hope. Although while we trust that we will see him again, we miss him very much and it is not easy to get used to his absence. At the same time we are very grateful for all our friends and family who were by our side during this time of difficulty. Especially our entire family in Christ here in Calpulalpan. We were pleasantly surprised to see their empathy, love and support towards our family. We can confirm that God has truly given us a new family in Christ here in Calpulalpan through his church. It was very encouraging for us to have the team come from Calvary Rosarito after the passing of Eduardo. They helped us out so much while they were here. We are so grateful for the blessing that they were to us and people of Calpulalpan. They did a children’s outreach where we had about 80 kids! The theme was ‘Jesus is my superhero’, so fun! The kids loved it and we were able to share the Gospel and invite them to our church. The ladies from the team did a women’s event for our church and the neighboring churches. Praise God we had about 45 ladies come out for the event!

The team was also able to help us with a big portion of the construction that needed to be done on the property that was donated to the church for us to be able to move there. They were able to put on a new roof, patch up the walls, stucco all the interior walls and the front exterior wall, and did all the electrical work for the sanctuary! We are so grateful for all the support from our family at Calvary Rosarito! (Click here for more photos)

On Sunday, October 15th, Brian felt the Lord telling him to give a teaching about hope instead of continuing with our verse by verse study through Mark. With everything that is going on in Israel, he felt it would be good for the church to hear a message of hope and encouragement. In the first service there was a lady who brought her mom to church with her. Now this lady’s mom is Catholic and she never thought her mom would come to church with her, but she kept inviting her anyway. The day before, her mom was feeling very discouraged and with lots of doubts and worries because of the things happening in Israel. So the same Sunday that Brian was teaching on hope, she came. And praise God because at the end of the service she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior! God is good!

After the team from Calvary Rosarito left we wanted to have a time of worship and prayer at the new church building to show everyone how the building is now and that we are planning to move there soon. It was a joyous time of prayer and worship. We explained to everyone how we are planning on moving to the new church building in November. It will not be an easy change, as change never is easy. But it will be good for us as we will no longer be paying rent, and can instead use that money to invest into our own church building.

• For comfort and peace for Brian & his family as they mourn the passing of Eduardo

• For provision to build some bathrooms for the new location of our church
• For provision for Brian’s family for funeral expenses and wisdom for the changes and procedures they still have to make after Eduardo’s death
• To find a better house for our family to move into soon
• For provision and wisdom to plan Christmas events that reach and bless our community
• For wisdom for the changes we will make this next year for our church

Dios se ha estado moviendo y haciendo grandes cosas aquí en Calpulalpan. ¡Gracias a Dios, tuvimos nuestros segundos bautismos y hubo 4 jóvenes/jóvenes adultos que fueron bautizados! Es muy bonito ver a nuestra familia de la iglesia crecer y dar pasos en su fe. (Haga clic aquí para ver más imágenes)

También pudimos hacer una salida divertida de verano con la iglesia. Fuimos a un parque cercano donde jugamos voleibol con globos de agua, nadamos en las albercas, jugamos fútbol y voleibol, comimos carne asada, tuvimos un tiempo de adoración y un devocional. Fue momento muy bonito de compañerismo entre todos nosotros y llegamos a conocernos mejor. (Haga clic aquí para ver más imágenes)

Después de casi 4 años de que el padre de Brian luchara contra una enfermedad de insuficiencia renal, el 1 de Octubre de este año falleció debido a una infección en su catéter. Ha sido un momento muy difícil, triste y agotador para toda nuestra familia y en especial para la mama de Brian que siempre estuvo cuidando a su marido. Sabemos y tenemos fe que algún día lo volveremos a ver en el Cielo. Tenemos paz y esperanza. Aunque confiamos en que volveremos a verlo, lo extrañamos mucho y no es fácil acostumbrarnos a su ausencia. Al mismo tiempo estamos muy agradecidos con todos nuestros amigos y familiares que estuvieron a nuestro lado durante este momento de dificultad. Especialmente toda nuestra familia en Cristo aquí en Calpulalpan. Nos sorprendió grandemente ver su empatía, amor y apoyo hacia nuestra familia. Podemos confirmar que Dios verdaderamente nos ha dado una nueva familia en Cristo aquí en Calpulalpan a través de su iglesia. (Haga clic aquí para ver el servicio de vida)

Fue de mucho animo para nosotros que el equipo viniera de Calvary Rosarito después del fallecimiento de Eduardo. Nos ayudaron mucho mientras estuvieron aquí. Estamos muy agradecidos por la bendición que fueron para nosotros y la gente de Calpulalpan. ¡Hicieron un alcanze para niños donde tuvimos alrededor de 80 niños! El tema era ‘Jesús es mi superhéroe’, ¡muy divertido! A los niños les encantó y pudimos compartir el Evangelio e invitarlos a nuestra iglesia. Las damas del equipo hicieron un evento de mujeres para nuestra iglesia y las iglesias vecinas. ¡Alabado sea Dios, tuvimos unas 45 mujeres que asistieron al evento!

El equipo también pudo ayudarnos con una gran parte de la construcción que debía hacerse en la propiedad que fue donada a la iglesia para que pudiéramos mudarnos allí. Pudieron poner un techo nuevo, reparar las paredes, estucar todas las paredes interiores y la pared exterior frontal, ¡e hicieron todo el trabajo eléctrico para el santuario! ¡Estamos muy agradecidos por todo el apoyo de nuestra familia en Calvary Rosarito! El domingo 15 de octubre, Brian sintió que el Señor le decía que diera una enseñanza sobre la esperanza en lugar de continuar con nuestro estudio versículo por versículo a través de Marcos. Con todo lo que está sucediendo en Israel, sintió que sería bueno para la iglesia escuchar un mensaje de esperanza y animo. En el primer servicio estaba una señora que llevó a su mamá a la iglesia con ella. Ahora, la mamá de esta señora es católica y nunca pensó que su mamá vendría a la iglesia con ella, pero siguió invitándola de todos modos. El día anterior su mamá se sentía muy desanimada y con muchas dudas y preocupaciones por las cosas que pasaban en Israel. Entonces, el mismo domingo que Brian estaba enseñando sobre la esperanza, ella vino. ¡Y alabado sea Dios porque al final del servicio aceptó a Jesús como su Señor y Salvador! ¡Dios es bueno!

Después de que el equipo de Calvary Rosarito se fue, quisimos tener un tiempo de adoración y oración en el nuevo edificio de la iglesia para mostrarles a todos cómo está el edificio ahora y que estamos planeando mudarnos allí pronto. Fue un tiempo gozoso de oración y adoración. Les explicamos a todos cómo planeamos mudarnos al nuevo edificio de la iglesia en Noviembre. No será un cambio fácil, ya que los cambios nunca son fáciles. Pero será bueno para nosotros porque ya no pagaremos renta y podremos usar ese dinero para invertir en el edificio de nuestra propia iglesia.
