“But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed.‘”
Matthew 25:26
As you know, we have been going through many discouraging health problems and other challenges since the end of last year; but God’s grace has been sufficient. May and the first part of June were extremely difficult for us. Thanks for your faithful prayers and support, especially during times when we didn’t have the ability to mobilize special prayer support.
God also raised up key parts of His Body here in Cambodia to help and encourage us. In the process, one brother from South Asia and one brother from Kenya got into a conversation about how in separate bible colleges they both studied from (probably unofficial) copies of Christianity: Reasons for Faith. This is the apologetics/evangelistic book I co-authored many years ago. The brother from Kenya told me that he and many other evangelists and missionaries have used the lessons from that book to reach thousands for Christ.
Decades ago, I had the dream of reaching beyond the borders of Cambodia to other nations. However, the doors never seemed to open for me to do so officially or directly. So, I gradually gave up on it and assumed it was just my own ambition. But God already made this vision and dream come true through unofficial means. And without the recent trials, I probably would not have received this encouraging testimony until eternity.
A couple of weeks ago, God arranged for me to meet another missionary who also requested me to share the above book and more than 50 related videos and scripts with his new ministry. His ministry here in Cambodia is equipping Cambodian Christian teachers to be prepared to live out and share the gospel. One module that this organization is developing is to help the teachers answer difficult questions or challenges about their faith. Please pray for this ministry to impact many students and teachers for Christ across this nation.
The combination of testimonies, opportunities, and trials have encouraged and challenged me to renew my focus on equipping believers to confidently share their faith. So, I’ve been adjusting my roles in ministries such as the international men’s ministries. These are areas where other brothers are stepping up so that I can focus on evangelism/apologetics through teaching and writing.
Please keep all three of us in prayer. God is faithful and knows what we need before we even ask.
In Christ’s Hands,
Darryl, Kayo, and Benjamin
