Open Doors and New Opportunities

“These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”:
“I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.”

REVELATION 3:7-8

Hello family and friends!

I am praying that you all have been well and that the Lord has been revealing Himself, His faithfulness, and love to you all! I am beyond thankful for your continued support and partnership in reaching this dark world with the light and truth of Jesus Christ. In this last month, since being back from my travels, I have been trudging right along with my missions internship at Calvary Chapel Saving Grace. God truly is so faithful to bring open doors for the future and new opportunities for the present. I cannot wait to share some of these things with you all!

Joining a New Prayer Group

Something I joined about two months ago that as been a blessing to me spiritually, is a once a month prayer meeting for the national christians and missionaries in the South Asia area. Coming together with other believers to lift up our brothers and sisters to the Lord, to hear of their challenges, and also their victories in Christ has been very amazing and eye opening. I am thankful for the hope that Jesus is bringing to this region and ask that you also would be committing this area to prayer as God puts it on your heart.

College Outreach Evangelism

Another opportunity that I have gotten through my internship is to go to a local college and evangelize once a month with a group. It has been exciting and encouraging to see the Spirit of God at work in the hearts and lives of these students. Some are opposed to the idea of Jesus, but others are very open as they ask questions and consider the seriousness of what truth is and where their eternal destination will be. A few have even come to faith and turned their hearts to their Savior Jesus Christ. Many students we talk to are christians or go to church; there are even students that meet for Bible studies once a week. This has also been a time of personal growth in learning how to share confidently and articulately who Jesus is, why we need Him, and other truths found in the scriptures.

Region of the World on My Heart

If you recall a few months back, I mentioned that the Lord has been leading me to a specific region of the world. God has been so faithful to confirm this unreached area, which is Southeast Asia. This place has truly grown in my heart and I have loved researching these people groups, their cultures, and the languages. The Lord has even opened doors for me to interview and have meetings with missionaries in these countries, as well as talk with nationals. I am praying about possibly going to this area sometime in the fall and I’m so excited for what the Lord has in store for the future.

CSOM Leadership

God is so good and I am so grateful to announce that I am fully funded for this summer’s leadership position at the Calvary School of Missions. I want to thank each and every one who financially supported me. It truly means so much and I cannot wait to show you all the fruit of your contributions in just a few months as we make our way to Mexico.

  • Please pray for all my friends who moved to the Middle East, that the Lord will give them strength and grace in this adjusting season

Thank you for taking the time to read this update and for joining in on the work that God has called me to! It is such a beautiful gift to realize that the Lord doesn’t need our help in fulfilling His plans, but because of His love, He wants us to take part in spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth! I would greatly appreciate your continued partnership with me in prayer as the Lord continues to prepare me for cross-cultural ministry, as well as through financial support, if you feel led to give. Any amount of a one-time or monthly donation is an absolute blessing for future mission trips and eventually for being sent out as Saving Grace World Missions requires 80% monthly funding before moving to the field. It means so much to me, thank you all!

Stepping Foot in the Holy Land

View of Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives

Hello family and friends,

I want to thank you for praying for my time in Israel, as well as my friend’s wedding that both took place this past month. These events were such a blessing and I can’t wait to share what the Lord did.

Being in Israel was more than I could have imagined! It was an amazing and life changing experience. Stepping foot in the Holy Land, walking where Jesus walked, and allowing the Word of God truly to come to life in a way it never has before is something I will forever be grateful for. The sights, smells, language, culture, etc was all so new, but I loved taking it all in as this was my first time in the Middle East. It was very interesting to see the dynamics in this country and more specifically in Jerusalem as there are Jews, Christians, Muslims, and more all living within these close quarters. There were people from all over the world walking around this country and touring the holy sites, in which the Lord further showed me the depth of His love as it goes far beyond the barriers of languages or cultures. “For God so loved the world!” We were able to do so much and see many incredible sights including; Joppa, Mount of Beatitudes, Sea of Galilee, Jordan River, Caesarea Philippi, Dead Sea, Jerusalem, and more. I wish I could share all the details, but there is just not enough time, so with that, here are a few highlights…

One of the sweet memories I have is when we were at the Garden of Gethsemane and we got to take time to find our own space, pray, and seek the Lord. This is the garden where Jesus prayed to the Father, “saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” (Luke 22:42) What an incredible time to remember these words of Jesus and an opportunity to pray this prayer to the Father for myself as well. Especially with this weekend being the first Easter since being back from Israel as we remember all that Jesus did by His death and resurrection, it is such a fitting time! I have so many dreams and desires of what I would love my future to look like, but I must remember that God’s will is best. His ways are higher and He truly sees all and knows all.

Another way the Lord spoke to me was during our last day in Jerusalem when we visited the Garden Tomb and got to go into the tomb believed to be the one Jesus was buried in. I had time to read over the Gospel accounts of the resurrection and I also read in John were Jesus appears to Thomas after resurrecting and says, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” (John 20:29) This really struck me with the importance of our faith and how much more fulfilling it was to be in Israel already believing in all the things I saw and heard. I did not need to go there for my faith to be secure, however it did make me feel closer to the Lord in a new way. God reminded me to not miss what He has for me because of unbelief! It was an encouragement for the future to remember the goodness of God and to keep believing even when I might not see the Lord working, because the truth is, He is always at work.

After a long travel day from Israel, I was home for a good 3 hours then left to the airport to catch my next flight up to Washington for my friends, Jonny and Jordan’s wedding. This was such a sweet time in which God was truly glorified and present in the midst of the wedding. As one of the maid of honors, I also had the opportunity to share a toast in which I preached the gospel during it. Please pray that the Lord touched the heart of the unbelievers there.

Other Exciting News

I have the opportunity to go back to Mexico this summer to be a leader at the School of Missions. I am so excited and grateful to get to serve there, as well as continue to grow in being a leader. As a leader, I will be available to the students and help with outreaches as we partner with many Calvary churches and do park events, kids programs, and we do an outreach trip into Mazatlán and Culiacán where we have plans to, Lord willingly, reach an unreached tribe with the Gospel. God did an amazing work in my life during that time last summer in which He launched me into where I am now and the path He has me on, so I have no doubt that the time there this summer will also be a blessing! With that, the cost of this is $2,000. I know the Lord will provide and I have total confidence in Him! If you feel led to support me at all, I would greatly appreciate your partnership in the furtherance of the Gospel and my preparation for serving the Lord cross-culturally in the future. Any amount would be a huge blessing! You can do so by clicking on the blue link at the bottom of this page.

COLOSSIANS 3:17

Hello family and friends,

I am praying that you are doing well and that these newsletter updates will continue to encourage you as you partner with me in the work of the Lord. Well, the month of February was a busy, but certainly blessed month for me! I look forward to sharing the things God is doing and has been teaching me recently. One lesson the Lord has been showing me and definitely will continue to show me, is what it means to truly live a Christ-centered life. Especially in the midst of the busyness of life, events taking place, and good work to be done for the Lord; if I forget the purpose and reason behind why I am doing it, I am completely missing the point. No doubt, this also carries over into preparing for being on the mission field at some point and all the excitement or even hard times that will come with this, I must remain dependent on Jesus knowing that this can only be done through the power of His Holy Spirit!

At the beginning of the month, I got the opportunity to attend the missions conference at Calvary Chapel Westgrove where we were stirred up for what the Lord is doing around the world, specifically amongst the unreached people who have never heard the Gospel or the name of Jesus. We got to hear from various missionaries and pastors on the importance of being a disciple who makes disciples and so on, as this was the theme of the conference. This conference was such a blessing to be a part of!

Another incredible experience I had was going down to Tijuana, Mexico for the day with my home church, Calvary South OC to serve at Calvary Tijuana’s Valentines Dinner. In addition to this, we were able to visit one of the Haitian refugee camps there, which was a really impactful experience for me. This was the church’s first time meeting these Haitians and working with them, so it was a learning and growing time for all of us. To hear their stories and why they had to flee their country brought so much compassion to our hearts and it was a blessing to be able to share the Gospel with them. I gravitated towards the children, as I usually do, and it was so much fun doing crafts with the kids that were all to glorify God! I am grateful for the time we had with the sweet Haitians, despite it being short, but I am praying that I have an opportunity to go back again!

The last event I want to share from this month is going up to the Calvary Bible Institute (the school I attended last year) with Pastor Trent and others from Saving Grace for the “Purpose of the Church” class that Pastor Trent teaches. It was a 2-day block class with 12 hours total of teaching on missions, sharing the Gospel, and reaching the unreached people groups of our day. I also was able to share in front of the class on my experience at Calvary School of Missions and encouraged the students to take a step of faith if they feel a call towards missions work. The response was great and there are many interested in missions, so please pray for the Lord to open the doors for the students to come to CSOM this summer!

March is an exciting month for me as well, as I will be going on an Israel trip with my family and Calvary South OC, then afterwards traveling up North for one of my best friend’s wedding that I get the privilege of being in. I cannot wait for what God has in store and all I will experience being in the Holy Land! I look forward to sharing pictures and stories in my next newsletter. Please pray for our time there and for my friend getting married.

Praise Reports:

  • My friends and I have had opportunities to evangelize and share our faith this month, especially amongst the Jehovah’s Witnesses
  • I attended 2 Calvary conferences, one on missions and one for pastors and leaders which was such a blessing
  • A successful Valentine’s Dinner at Calvary Tijuana
  • Many students at CBI are interested in missions and a few have already applied to School of Missions

Prayer Requests:

  • Please pray for the Jehovah’s Witnesses we talked with
  • Please pray for the Haitian refugees health, families, and that they would come to know the Lord, as well as for opportunities to visit them again
  • Please pray for the CBI students who are interested in missions, that the Lord would direct them and open doors for the ones He wants to go to CSOM this summer
  • Please pray for my time in Israel that it would be such a blessing and that God would reveal more of Himself to me
  • Please pray for my best friend’s upcoming wedding that it would all be done to glorify the Lord

Focusing on the Goal

PROVERBS 4:25-26

Hello family and friends!

Prayerfully the first month of 2023 has been well for you. It has been a busy, but blessed month for me as I am continuing to keep my eyes on the Lord and see His hand moving so evidently in my personal life and as I prepare for the future. As always, thank you so much for your partnership in prayer and finances. It means more than you know; not only in my life, but much more importantly to the Lord as we all actively take part in His work.

I started out the new year by joining Calvary Chapel Saving Grace in a week of prayer and fasting in which we all took that time in different ways to seek the Lord and truly give Him the first part of this year to set the tone for the rest of the year to come. God grew me in that week and spoke to my heart by reminding me that I must continually rely on His strength because I can’t do anything lasting or fruitful apart from Him! Staying focused on the goal at hand of reaching the world for Christ’s sake is so important to me. I am so eager for what the Lord has planned for my future, but He is also reminding me that I must enjoy the process along the way because it is essential for fruitful and long-lasting ministry overseas. This is why I am “reaching forward to those things which are ahead” (Philippians 3:13) and reminding myself that all the Lord has me doing in this season is for that ultimate purpose.

One of the events we had during the week of prayer and fasting is what we call, “Secret Church” in which we have a prolonged time of worship, prayer, and Bible study that lasted until midnight. It is to emulate what a secret church meeting might look like in the persecuted countries of the world. We do this to remember and intercede for our brothers and sisters facing hardships because of their faith. It was such an impactful time and left me so grateful for the freedoms we have here to worship and share our love for the Lord openly.

A group of us interns got to attend the Calvary Costa Mesa Missions Conference and host a booth for the School of Missions

I recently went out with a team to Fullerton College for an evangelism event. It was an amazing experience in learning how to better share the Gospel! We met many Christians which was encouraging, as well as others who were Jehovah’s Witness’, Catholic, atheist, etc. Praise God that one man named Bryan gave his life to the Lord and it was an amazing and emotional moment for him! Please be praying for him to get plugged in at the church and start growing in his walk with the Lord. Please pray for the seeds planted and watered in the lives of the others we had the opportunity of talking with.

Walking to Fullerton College to spread the Gospel

Praise Reports:

  • God is speaking to me more and leading me to a specific region of the world
  • Our weekly classes on culture, teaching the word, as well as ministry at Saving Grace has been fruitful
  • A man gave his life to the Lord at our evangelism event at Fullerton College

Prayer Requests:

  • Please pray for protection for our brothers and sisters around the world in persecuted countries
  • Please pray for Bryan who gave his life to the Lord at Fullerton College
  • Please pray for all those we got to share the gospel with at Fullerton College
  • Please pray for the Lord to continue equipping me for the future and speaking to me on the country, timing, etc
  • Please pray for the Lord to provide financial support for future missions trips He opens the doors for me to go on

Thank you for taking the time to read this update and for joining in on the work that God has called me to!
