Long News, January 2018

JANUARY 2018       LONGNEWS     No. 2b

Our journey to Austria this last week was better than most of our adventures over the years. One never knows how a long day of flying will pan out, but things went fairly smoothly. Thankful for that!! Mike (our right-hand man) picked us up and drove us through some pretty awesome snowfall as we made our way through the alps to Millstatt, from Munich. It was beautiful, but turned our three hour ride to the castle into FIVE!

Since we got here, our team pulled off the running of the “2018 CC Western European Pastor’s and Leaders Conference” here at the castle. We had over 115 pastors come, and we were all very blessed. They were so low maintenance, they made it easy for us serve them, and in fact, served us with their love! A team of 15 people from Italy and Germany came alongside our home team here and helped serve the group. Without them, and the Grace of the Lord, we would have never pulled it off so smoothly.

Presently, a small group of us are in Budapest for the “CC Eastern European Pastor’s and Leaders Conference”. Such a blessing to be here for the first one hosted in Budapest… Pray along with us that God would move mightily among our brothers representing Eastern Europe.

These next couple of months here at the Castle will involve renovation on the main floor bathrooms of the castle, in the dining hall. One of the last of the bathrooms that were never changed since the purchase of the castle in 1988.  We are also getting settled into our small home adjacent to the castle and will be doing some renovations here as well. Please pray for strength to get these things finished.

Another plan of ours is to travel to Germany to visit our family who we seldom see. So blessed to be able to spend time with our daughter Amy and her husband Michael and our three grandchildren Jonathan, Katlynn and Kimberly… We have missed them.

We covet your prayers for a clear hearing of Gods voice, as we seek Him for His plans for the castle in 2018. God has already started to move our hearts concerning the future of this place. We are a little more than excited, to be a part of the bigger picture for this place reaching Europe. A wide door for effective service —I Co 16:9

Part of that will include building our team for the work here at the Castle. We presently have half the team needed. So please pray as the word goes out East & West. This is not an easy task, as every position is a missionary endevour. Please pray that all involved would be richly blessed with faithful supporters, and amazing health.

Blessings upon you – our home team,

Nick and Sue

Some fell on good earth, and produced a harvest beyond his wildest dreams. Matthew 13:8

High School Classes – 1984

It’s been over 3 decades now since I wrote my very first missionary support letter. It was to support the 6 month outreach tour I would take throughout Europe back in 1984. Only 2 1/2 years old in the Lord, it would be a trip that would change the course of my life forever. It was mind blowing to see the favor God was giving us, along with the openness of the youth to the gospel. I couldn’t do anything else but return year after year, and go through those God appointed doors where the truth was being received effectively. Those doors would eventually lead us to planting the first Calvary Chapel in Western Europe just 4 years later in 1988.

Our First Facility – 1990 – Upstairs Train Station

Now after 25 years of living in Germany, and a 5 year sabbatical in the States. Sue and I have been asked to take the leadership of “Schloss Heroldeck.” Calvary Chapels retreat center in Millstatt, Austria. Once there, we hope to finish a lifelong dream and establish a school of discipleship/evangelism & music ministry. For us, this is an even wider open door to minister to Europe effectively.

To finish His work Jn 4:34

In January of 2018, Sue and I move back to Europe, and we’re calling upon those who might consider partnering with us. Please pray about being a part of our home support team, both prayerfully and practically. There’s no way we can do this without a team on the Homefront sending us out.

Many think this is a paid position, but it’s not (ergo this letter).  Please note that This particular support letter is a one time THING

In the future, you will receive more newsletters and more details of how God is leading us.

If you’d like to become a financial support partner, click on the button [BECOME A FINANCIAL PARTNER] to your left, sign up, and your missionary dollars will become eternal rewards. Thanks so much for considering us, we’d love to have you join our team!

IN HIS SERVICE, Nick & Sue Long

A Note From the Director

You are receiving this e-mail because Nick and Sue Long have added you to their personal e-mail list. Also, If you wish to sign up to receive monthly prayer requests from the Long’s and the rest of our Missionaries, you can do so by CLICKING HERE and filling out the e-mail sign up form.

If you desire to partner with Nick and Sue Long financially you can do so in a couple of different ways –

Electronically (Check or Card) – Either click the button below that says, “Become a Financial Partner” or visit their website at sgwm.com/long. That will take you to our donation page where you will find a couple of different options. The main two I would like to highlight is the, “single gift” option and the, “monthly gift “option. The single gift option is there for you if you desire to give a one-time gift and the “monthly gift” option is there if you desire to give on an ongoing basis. If you click that it will ask you what date you would like your gift to be processed (on the 3rd or the 18th). I would highly encourage you to consider the monthly gift option simply because it helps the Long’s manage their budget and know how much is coming in and on what day.

Check or Cash – You are welcome to send in a check or cash to – 17451 Bastanchury Rd. Suite 203 Yorba Linda CA, 92886. If you send a check please make it payable to Saving Grace World Missions and in the Memo Line write – “Long”.

All donations are tax deductible and you will receive a donation receipt once a year.

Another very practical way you can help SGWM better support the Long’s, as well as all of our missionaries is to “Like” our Facebook page and follow us on Twitter. It is extremely helpful in getting the word out about all the amazing things the Lord is doing around the world if you share our pages with your friends as well as Like and Comment on our posts.
