The Hope In Me

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be defamed.

1 PETER 3:15-16
The Crew

God’s been doing amazing things over the last few months and I know there is a lot to catch up on, but first can we just praise God for the miraculous work He calls us to do? Over the last few months I have gone through a roller coaster as I’ve been pursuing the will of the Lord in my life. I went back to CBI after finishing CSOM in Mexico during the summer of 2020. I continued there faithfully as COVID was wreaking havoc among our school and community. However, God was faithful and we will proclaim that truth unto the coming of our Lord Jesus. I graduated in January of 2021 from CBI with a clear call to go to Calvary Chapel Saving Grace and join the internship program to be further equipped to pursue His call to missions for my life. God put me through a season of leaning wholly upon Him as I struggled to find the funds for transportation and housing before moving to Yorba Linda, California to start the internship. This process lasted 3 months as I attained funds for transportation and prayed for God’s will in housing. As always, where God called, He provided. A pastor at Calvary Chapel Saving Grace prayed and felt called to provide housing for me. God also provided for a car as well through stocks my grandpa had left in my name. All of this came out of nowhere. I had no idea how God was going to provide, but as I felt called to pursue Him in His call to missions, He has faithfully made a way. He is the hope in my heart.

The Call

I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

PHILIPPIANS 3:14

As I’ve started out at CCSG with the internship and pursuing God will further, God has laid a few ministries upon my heart as well as different people that I’m trying to help grow in the gospel. My heart for those closest to home has grown tremendously. If we aren’t reaching out to those in our neighborhoods, stores, towns, etc., then what is the real purpose behind us wanting to do missions? Christ clearly calls us to missions, but missions is wherever we are, and we need to be faithful to pursue that call wherever we are. The message of grace and reconciliation that we have been given is the most blessed thing we have. Who are we to hold it back from others? God has led me into many meaningful conversations with people not only at church or at home, but in the streets as well, when I talk to people about God; His word hasn’t returned void. I encourage whoever reads this to take some time to truly consider whether you are pursuing His will to make His name known to those around you or not. And if that raises even more questions about whether or not you even know His name that well, let me encourage you in that we have been gifted with the Bible for a reason. He wants each of us to know Him on an individual basis and in a very personal way. In turn, He gives us the call to pursue Him and His will for our lives.

Easter Service 4/4/2021

If it is His Will

Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.

JAMES 4:13-17

The Lord has called me to make His name known to those who have never heard it before and, if the Lord wills, I plan on continuing to set aside time to do just that. I go to different areas of the city and seek out people who have been set aside for His redemption message so that we can bring as many to His grace and mercy as He wills. I’ve already done this a few times over the last few weeks and have had the opportunity to witness to people in a town center, at a mall, and in various restaurants and gas stations. God is moving, and my prayer is that He would use me in mighty ways for His name’s sake. If you would like to come along side me in my call to pursue Him further, you can click the link below to help support me for housing, gas for transportation, and food. Praise Reports and Prayer Requests will be below the partner link and if you can come along side me in those prayers as well, I’d greatly appreciate it. Thank You!

A Name for Every Season

1 Corinthians 12:27

Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

PHILIPPIANS 2:9-11 NKJV

We’re now in the home stretch for CSOM! I’m excited to say that I have been greatly strengthened in the name of Christ this last week. The name of Christ in my life has always meant salvation since I decided to believe in His mighty name over everything else. If anything in life contradicts His awesome and mighty name, it’s false. He is that simple! But He’s so complex that He chose to send His only son to atone for what we did. He paid the balance for us by the name of Jesus Christ! He gave us righteousness in His eyes by His name! Praise God! Holy Holy Holy! In what world would we ever see somebody give us everything when we were the ones who took on an eternal debt?

God has shown me these last five weeks that even when He brings me up to the mountains, or allows me to fall into deep valleys, that He is more than sufficient for any season. God is so… good to love us in this way. He will empower us, humble us, bring us to existence and show us how little we truly are. God be praised. Only by the name of Jesus Christ do we even exist. Praise God! Holy! Holy! Holy! Jesus is only beginning to exemplify His name and purpose in my life, and I’m so excited to say that by the name of Jesus Christ, this season at CSOM is coming to an amazingly powerful and purposeful end, all for His glory.

Big Hype for the Work of God!

God did amazing work through the team this last week when we had the opportunity to run the first church service at Capilla Calvario in Primo Tapia, Mexico. Our team rocked it! God saw the need and gave us the opportunity to perform a good work in His name. We had part of the team doing face painting, part of the team delivering the gracious testimony of Jesus Christ in their lives, and some of us playing games and doing crafts with the kids. God provided me with a platform to share His word with the people at the church and teach on John 15:1-8. It was anointed by the Spirit and an older gentleman accepted Christ. To see God working in their lives through the message I delivered and to see God use me for His kingdom was an amazing blessing. All of the time we were there, I saw God moving in and through our team by blessing those at the church and being an encouragement to them.

Nehemiah 8:10

This last week we were taught by seasoned long-term missionaries with 30 yrs experience on the field. They shared with us about the centering of Christ in missions and how to apply Christ to all things on the mission field including the deep need the world has for more mission-minded believers. God also blessed us with the opportunity to help build a drainage ditch for a house in Rancho Cuarenta. We attended a church planting conference hosted by Calvary Chapel Rosarito. The biggest fact that stuck with me during our time at the conference was that only 3% of churches worldwide focus on church planting and the accomplishment of the great commission. God is on the move by the name of Christ regardless of the season we are in. If we choose to abide in the great commission or not is up to us, but He wants us to abide in Him, and that includes the great commission.

James 4:8

Praise Reports

  • God brought 7 people to the Lord this week during various church services
  • God is increasing His Kingdom
  • God used us to help multiple families with food and health supplies
  • God is teaching many people how to better pursue the great commission
  • God is enough
  • God is good
  • Christ is all

Prayer Requests

  • God would provide for me and the team spiritually as we finish off this season of our lives at CSOM to continue walking and seeking Him faithfully
  • God would continue, even after this season, to grow me radically in His name and glory
  • God would continue to reveal His holiness to me daily
  • God would continue to show me His work in my life and in me
  • God would provide for me financially and spiritually entering into this next season

If God is calling you to help in the expansion of His Kingdom to the ends of the earth but feel called to where you are now, please consider coming alongside me in my call to the ends of the earth. You can partner with me by coming alongside me in prayer that God would work in and through me as I walk according to His will. Another way to come alongside me in partnership is by supporting me financially to complete my schooling at Calvary School of Missions and Calvary Bible Institute as God continues to prepare me for the work that He is calling me to.

Between The Rock and a Hard Place

Finishing an Amazing Day at Iglesia De Las Encinas

The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

PSALM 18:2 NKJV

Praise God for the salvation which Christ brings during dark nights and long days! For a long time, I have been trying to pursue a relationship with Christ by doing good works. I’ve sensed His presence through the work that I have done, and seen good fruits from it, but it’s always been a push and pull relationship with God. During this last week, God laid it on my heart to really seek Him out and pray about my relationship with Him, and it put me between a Rock and a hard place. This Rock that I’m referring to is Christ, and the hard place is my works. He brought me to a place where I had to ask if I was going to rely upon Christ to be sufficient for me, or if I was going to continuously seek to be more than what Christ has already done in me and for me. This was a hard place to be because I thought that my works were giving me a better relationship with Him than He already provided, but it was only taking away from what He was going to provide regardless. Romans 4:4 says, “Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace, but as debt.” This verse speaks a lot into what He showed me this week because He was only giving to me what was due as a fruit of my works, but now He is showing me that I can work BECAUSE OF CHRIST. I’m not working to have a better relationship anymore, I just have to ABIDE IN WHO HE IS!

Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt.

ROMANS 4:4 NKJV
Preparing Lunch at Iglesia De Las Encinas

This last week has been filled with amazing things that God still did through me and the team, even as He was ministering to me, which was a blessing in and of itself because He showed me the truth and application of His sovereignty, omnipotence, and omnipresence through that work. The best example I can give of that concept this week is when we went to Rancho Cuarenta. Rancho Cuarenta is a small town with about 30 houses located there. We had the opportunity to walk around the town and invite people to the church that day, and that’s when God really started to show His omnipotence and omnipresence in my relationship with Him. He showed me that even during simple things like walking around a community, He can minister to us through His Holy Spirit. This is a commonly known fact in the Christian church, but to have Him start to express it to me was mind-blowing. He did this the entire day, and at one point I experienced Him speaking through another believer to me. It’s as if my ears were finally opened to hearing His word in my life. The other believer encouraged me to continue to seek Christ in the Spirit and seek after God’s will in my life. God continued like this through the day as we handed out food, provided child care, and ministered to the adults through a sermon, testimonies and fellowship! God is Good!

Playing Soccer at Rancho Cuarento

We did another outreach like Rancho Cuarenta this week where we visited Iglesia De Las Encinas. We provided food, health supplies, church service, child care, and lunch for the families that attended. To finish off the week we attended Calvary Chapel Rosarito where we helped the church during one service and actually attended the other service. God has blessed this week in numerous ways, but my greatest praise is the work God is doing in my life. He’s bringing me to a place where because of my relationship with Him, I am seeking to show others His amazing grace. And to be honest, until now I was seeking to build a relationship with Christ by showing His grace to others; when in reality I can only show His amazing grace and love to others by MY RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM. Amen.

Worship in the Valley

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.

PSALM 23 NKJV

We’re halfway through the school! God has been putting a burden on my heart for the world and those around me. I’ve been shown the amazing parts of God’s heart during my time down here and it has absolutely broken me in a good way. God is amazing in His grace and mercy towards me, but He’s absolutely broken me for the grace and mercy He wants to work through me. He’s bringing me and those around me literally into the valley. Praise God for the valleys!

Though God brings us into the valleys, we can praise Him for the hope He has given us in Christ. If we face death and despair on a daily basis, we can look at Christ resurrected and rest assured in the hope we find in Him. He has given us valleys so that we can look Him dead in the eyes and say, “I’m not good enough, but You are; so let me seek You to know how to grow.” This has been the story for me this entire week; I continue to look at my situation in school, in the mission field, in my personal devotional time with God, and I keep getting shown my lack of humility before the Lord. So this is my prayer for this next week, “God, I’m not able to stand by my own ability and strength, so enable me to look more like you because I know that you are able to do all things in and through me.” God has a lot planned for this next week, so I’m going to let Him move the mountains we talked about last week, and I’ll stand back and watch.

San Vicente, Mexico

This past week, I had the opportunity to serve with the local Calvary Chapel in Rosarito. Our team split into two groups. One group assisted in painting a balcony in the sanctuary while the group I was in helped move benches up a flight of stairs to the second floor. Though we weren’t performing miracles, we were worshiping God by helping to build the resources He has provided to the local ministry. This wasn’t necessarily a valley, but the difference between helping out at a church and helping distribute food to families in need is a big change. God showed me that every mountain can be seen as a valley if we aren’t perceiving it through His eyes. This church needed help and our team rocked out in providing it with a joyful heart. During my time helping out I saw it as a valley compared to helping families impacted by the pandemic. God spoke to me in my reading that day through Isaiah 40:4 which says, “Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill brought low; the crooked places shall be made straight and the rough places smooth.” God showed me that for Him, the hills are lowered, and the valleys raised for His glory. We need to worship in the valleys as we do on the mountain tops because they’re one and the same in the eyes of God.

A few other things we did this week was an outreach to Calvary Chapel Rancho Santa Cruz where we partnered to distribute relief food supplies, a Bible message, and a kids ministry service. We also served at a ranch with pastor Mark & Katrina Kamio. Each of these opportunities was a blessing and a mountain in their own respect, but if we wanted to examine each outreach we would be able to see valleys too. Praise be to God that He is our focus and sharing the gospel is our goal now!

Mountain Movers

So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”

MATTHEW 17:20 NKJV

This past week has been incredible; the prayers that I have received from you all have greatly affected the work that God has done through me and the group. So first off, thank you for the amazing support that you have shown. These two weeks have been so packed with things that God has used to help people see the grace and peace that is found in Jesus Christ. Once again before getting started, I’m more than thankful for those of you who take the time to read this newsletter, I’m blessed by all of you. Together we can move mountains.

This week God has worked in my life personally by showing me how much I’ve been trying to put my hand to the work which He wants to do Himself. It isn’t us who move the mountains in our lives and the lives of those around us, but God. It’s our faith in Him that gives us the ability to do what He calls us to do. Whenever He has given me conviction in a certain area of life that should be changed, I’ve always tried to change it in my own power. God revealed to me that in my own strength I can do nothing to change the world, but by His amazing grace He can enable me to do that work which He calls us all to do, and move mountains. This next week, I will be applying this to my life, as much as it is possible for me to do so, and then allow God to fill in the cracks that I can’t see.

As God has been showing me the blind spots in my life, He has shown me that even in seasons where He is breaking me down and building me up, He still does work through me. Which leads me to show you what amazing work God has done this week. On Saturday, we had the opportunity to serve at a local church and provide families with essential food items to help them during this season of Covid-19. This not only helped them with their daily necessities, but it also encouraged them during these hard times. God was moving mountains by providing hope in a very dark season for many people. Many families in Mexico don’t have the funds required to have a meal every day or to provide supplies for their children’s needs. So when we had the opportunity to provide the parents with non-perishable food and time to talk to other Christians, it changed the entire environment of the room by the time we were finished. When people were walking in, they appeared tired and in need of refreshment, and when they were leaving they were energetic and happy. Thank God for the opportunity He gave me and the team to provide that for them. We not only provided for the parents, but also for the children. We were moving mountains by faith in God’s provision for those who believe. God gave us the funding for backpacks and toys for the children so that we could also support the families in that aspect. The children also received a form of refreshing in that they got to have their hands painted, and paint pictures with people from our team. This was one of many examples of God’s divine work done in and through our team this week. God moves mountains for those who believe in His Son and His work on the cross.

A few other examples of God moving in and through our group during our time at Calvary School of Missions (CSOM) were when we visited Colonia San Fernando and provided Covid-19 relief and spent time sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Also, when we visited Abelardo L. Rodriguez Park in Rosarito on Sunday after church. Our time at the park was blessed because God provided us an opportunity to encourage a man named Martin, a believer, but battling with COVID isolation, we saw God move a mountain of discouragement in his life. If we can’t do anything but encourage another believer, praise God for His love working through us.

In order to be enabled to continue seeking the call of God on my life and to spread the grace of Christ to all nations, I’m asking you to consider coming alongside me through prayer and financial support. The Calvary School of Missions tuition is the biggest thing that I need support with right now. My tuition covers this great opportunity to serve God and includes food, housing, transportation, and study materials. In God’s Will

These last few months have been crazy, God has led me through many highs and I’ve given way to many lows also; thankfully Christ is my identity and He has been delivering me to sanctification daily. During the recent trying times, God has shown me that the daily pursuit of Christ will yield good fruit that can only be grown and harvested in God’s own season. This fruit has revealed itself in many ways, and hopefully this blog will help you see how being in God’s will and pursuing His commission has shown me that.

Over the last few months COVID-19 has wreaked havoc on the world as we know it, thankfully God provides us a safe-haven where we can rely upon Him in any season. I was required to leave Calvary Bible Institute in March due to the limit in California of no more than 10 people in a building at once. During my period away from CBI, I returned to my home in Las Vegas where I had time to pursue God in the Word more than ever. This was a very quiet time for many of us as we were in almost constant spiritual warfare against the enemy as we continuously defended our life found in Christ through prayer. When the limit on congregations was lifted in California, I returned to CBI. It was a very strange month as my first semester came to a close, and the second semester students graduated, leaving only a few of us first semester students remaining. During the final month at CBI God called me to attend CSOM, and praise be to God, I got accepted.

During our time at CSOM God has provided many opportunities to allow Christ to minister to those around us. On Tuesday God brought us to people who had their houses burned down in a fire, and Christ ministered to them through us by means of encouragement and the good news which His blood spoke through testimony by His Son. God also provided us with the opportunity to attend a Calvary Chapel here in Rosarito, Mexico. Through this we were greatly encouraged to continue the work which Christ had put us into. On Thursday, we were brought by God to another local Calvary Chapel in La Gloria, where we were presented with the blessing of building a stage for the church where many amazing messages, by God’s amazing will, shall be taught and ministered to others. Friday was another amazing day where we had the opportunity to serve families at Home X and share the good news with the families that attended. God is doing a mighty work in Mexico and the world. Walking according to His will is a blessing that I wouldn’t give up for the world. He is doing an amazing thing even through the hard times that we’ve received, and I’m excited to continue seeing the work He does in and through the CSOM team.

I’m so excited to see the work God continues to do in my life as He continues to lay the call to missions on my heart daily. As I continue on this path in His will, I want to invite everybody reading this to join me on the amazing journey by reading my newsletter every week and join me in prayer for the work that God is doing in Mexico and around the world.

God be Praised! Hallelujah!
