Walking by Faith and Not By Sight

Calvary School of Missions has officially come to an end! I’ve loved every bit of this journey that God has taken me on. I want to thank all of you for your prayers. Prayer is powerful and it encouraged me to know that my family in Christ kept me in their requests to the Lord. Because of your prayers, we were able to keep on going clothed with His strength and love sharing the Good News of Christ Jesus. I am grateful to God for placing you guys in my life!

“Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders. Let me walk upon the waters, wherever You would call me. Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander and my faith will be made stronger, in the presence of my Savior”

Oceans by Hillsong

I want to share what the Lord has taught me throughout my time in Mexico. I hope you are all encouraged by it. This song is my cry to God. I’ve truly had to take steps of faith. Coming to this school was a step of faith. During my time in School of Missions, I had to take a major step of faith, and even now I must take another step of faith. This is what our walk with God consists of, steps of faith. When we are obedient to Gods call we must step out where trust is without borders. Fully trusting in the One who has called us. Stepping into the unknown is scary but it’s where we experience who God is in a way that we never have before. I want to know God deeper and for that to happen, I must walk there. There are no shortcuts in this walk with God. Everyday we must keep in step with His Spirit and it takes faith to do that. It takes keeping our eyes on Jesus and not the storm that surrounds us. Jesus told the disciples “where is your faith?”, when they woke him up because of the storm. They were amazed when He calmed it so easily. The Lord asked me the same question when I was fearful to take a step of faith and I ask you to reflect on this question also. Where is your faith? Do we not trust that Jesus has everything under control? We can’t trust Him with some things and then not trust Him with the bigger things in our lives. If we put our trust in God, then we are all in, not holding anything back. Let Him take you deeper! Take that step of faith. Know that this will make the enemy angry. The enemy hates when he sees children of God walking faithfully and focused on His call. Be engaged in this spiritual battle!

No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.

The Unreached, Reached!

My team and I had the opportunity to spend a weekend with a tribe who had once never heard the Gospel of Jesus. They are called the Kuare Tribe. Now they are reached with the Gospel. Join me in prayer for God to send someone to live there permanently among the Kuare and plant a church. In unreached areas, it’s important to church plant, so that the nationals can be discipled and learn from missionaries what it looks like to have a relationship with Christ.

My heart was so joyful on the Sunday Service we held for The Kuare. It was amazing to see how people from all around the tribe were coming to listen to the worship and the Gospel messaged being preached. As I was listening, I looked around the circle and saw The Kuare. I could imagine them serving in the church that God wants to plant there. I pictured greeters, ushers, pastors, worship leaders, and hearts serving God one day! The Kuare were so sweet and wanted to learn about this God that was presented to them. It broke my heart to know that I was among a people who had never tasted a sweet relationship with Jesus let alone heard about Him! I saw such a need for the presence of at least one follower of Jesus to teach them. I saw the need for Gods word in their heart language! We take for granted all these things we have. Pray that God would send people into His Harvest!

Reach them

I’ve heard it said throughout this school that “the unreached are unreached because they are hard to reach”. No one wants to go to these difficult places because of the harsh climates and harsh living situations. We must be willing to give our lives to follow Christ. Die to yourself. That means letting go of our comforts, our plans, and our lives to obey His command to go into all the world and make disciples of all nations. I pray that God would reveal to each of you what part you can play in His Great Commission and walk by faith in it!

Thank you for following me on this journey!

In His love,

Alani
