The Steps Of Faith…

1 year ago, I had a desire for a deeper and more intimate relationship with God. I didn’t just want to know Him. I wanted to know EVERYTHING about Him. I wanted to know the good and the ugly. The Way, the Truth and the Life.

So I took a step of faith.

Leaving my stable and comfortable home and family behind. Forsaking all to know God.

I remember last year (2024) talking to my mom about this mission school I wanted to go on and how I knew that this was scary because I didn’t know anyone and it was a “dangerous” place. As I talked with my mom trying my best to describe the faith I had that God would take care of me. (While also dealing with the spiritual warfare and being scared that my liver would end up on the black market.)

She was watching a Roman movie (something weird per usual). As I was describing the trust I had that the Lord will protect me, the movie showed a scene where the Roman soldier was getting attacked and he held up his shield to  millions and millions of arrows flying at him. It was an intense part of the movie and he ended up not getting hurt by one arrow. I pointed to the tv and I said “that’s what it’s like, that’s how I feel.” (At that time I didn’t know that this is actually scripture.)

Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭16‬ ‭

“above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.”

So, I took a step of faith…

I attended Calvary School Of Missions (CSOM) in summer 2024. There’s so many amazing blessing God did to even get me there, I hope to share one day…

1 year later…

Now, this year I prayed and asked God what He wanted me to do. Yes, I had these desires but what I wanted more, is God’s will. After praying, talking to my pastors and leaders, reading, fasting, and more praying, I know what to do.

Again, there’s so many times where the Lord spoke to me and aligned blessings for this to be confirmed, I hope to share everything one day. The first thing was sermons my pastor was teaching. One of his points was “Do You Really Want To Know The Will Of God?” This was convicting for me because after my pastor asked me to be a leader for CSOM 25’ I almost immediately said “no.” I had this plan in my head to stay here in California and pay off my debt.

My roommate Serena was later asked to join the leadership role. Since then she also was battling with the same things. Such as not wanting to leave her job and having to figure out her finances etc. Every time she would come across something that seemed impossible she would say something like “I trust God though” and the CONVICTION WAS INSANE!! How could I limit God like that?!

I took a step of faith by sending out my last newsletter and meeting up with a friend to talk about the situation. The next day… GOD SPOKE! I was doing my devotionals when I was rereading a chapter I had read the day before, except I didn’t read the whole thing till that morning.

II Corinthians 8:10-12

“And in this I give advice: It is to your advantage not only to be doing what you began and were desiring to do a year ago; but now you also must complete the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to desire it, so there also may be a completion out of what you have. For if there is first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what one has, and not according to what he does not have.”

DUDE! This is was just perfect timing. I believe God wants to increase my faith as iv’e been praying for that diligently. Exercising the gift of faith has been difficult at times. However, if anyone were to see my life, I want them to see the faith Christ has given me.

So, I’m taking a step of faith…

I’m going to CSOM 25’! Praying and seeking God diligently for Him to provide the finances. This was the main and probably only reason why I thought I couldn’t go. BUT GOD is bigger than that.

I pray that you would join with me in this calling God has set before me. Which is to fulfill the Great Commission! My heart breaks for the people who don’t have a future or a hope. What I’ve come to realize is that God’s heart is very often broken for His children. I want the whole world to come to know Jesus. I want all to come to repentance and the knowledge of Christ. How much more do you think He wants that?

So, would you join us?

WITH PRAYER:

Please be praying that God would provide financially. Pastor Joel once said “haven’t you ever thought that because YOU prayed, it happened?” God hears my prayers, and I know He hears yours too. Join with me in praying diligently for people who live in darkness and that God would send out more labors into the field.

WITH FINANCIAL SUPPORT:

I know for someone people it can be uncomfortable sharing a number. However I feel led to be open with you guys… 3 months ago I was in debt around 27,000 dollars. I was drowning and I couldn’t serve my Father as much as I was called to because of the bondage I was in. Now, June iv’e cut that down to 6,000 dollars! All glory to God! THANK YOU JESUS! I continue to press on working, serving and most of all, first seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness.

Journey to the Cross

“That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3‬:‭10

Hi everyone!! Thank you for reading this month’s newsletter! I want to start off by apologizing for not writing for the month of April. Your prayers have been heard and answered! I really have been growing in the time management part of life. However, it’s still something I continue to grow in. I would love to be able to share every blessing God has given me and every word He has said. Instead, I’ll be sharing key moments that happened during Passion week!

Stater dinner time!! This was my first ever Jewish tradition!Everyone was able to pitch in and bring some delicious food and drinks. Pastor Nick led a whole group of us in the usual Jewish traditions like the washing of hands, partaking of the bitter herbs, Matzah etc. This was a blessing because I really got to see what they used to do BC days. I loved learning about it, but honestly, I’m so grateful of what Jesus did on the cross and fulfilled the ultimate sacrifice. We don’t have to do these traditions or sacrifices anymore. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

Easter Sunday!

There isn’t enough words to describe the gratitude I have towards Jesus. This was my first Easter celebrating it for the true meaning, Jesus! I had the opportunity to serve in the kitchen! So the team and I started with prepping, baking and cooking. I was so very joyful I was able to serve along side Brian and the rest of the team. As soon as the worship started, I just started bawling my eyes out. I reflected on where I was at just 1 year ago. I was in such a dark and lonely place, heartbroken and felt like I was without God. To now, being completely surrounded by people who love me like family and were worshipping God. I was in such awe of Him and His presence I had such an overwhelming thankfulness to Him. For Him. Not just that, but what He did on the cross for me. He demonstrated His own love towards us, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

OH HOW TIME FLIES….

I am beyond amazed of the fact that I can look the same, BUT WOW. My mind and spirit is changed. 2023 I was living “my best life” working 2 jobs, full time college student and weightlifting. To 2024 I was wanting a deeper relationship with God and trying to walk in this “new” life. All the way to 2025. A missionary training student with a hunger and passion for the Lord Jesus Christ.

PRAYER REQUEST:

Almost 1 year ago my life was changed when I took HUGE step of faith by going out to Mexico for 6 weeks with a random Church I’ve never heard of. Scared that my liver would be on the black market, I trusted God. After surviving the most ethereal experience, I now have an opportunity to serve and lead a group of students that are also taking a step of faith! I am extremely blessed to have this opportunity! However, this is difficult for me as I’m still paying off some debt. I always knew that the Lord could provide for me to go. However I didn’t really want to accept that He would. After lots of prayer and words of encouragement, I want to be obedient. So, I ask that you all would be along side me. Praying diligently that the Lord would use me where He calls me. That I would be able to raise support not for me, but for the investment and the furtherance of the LIVING GOSPEL!

Answered prayers:

  • I’ve improved on my teaching and changed my studying style
  • Getting better at scheduling and being timely
  • I wake up almost every morning with a worship song in my heart

Prayer Request:

  • The Holy Spirit would set a revival!
  • That the Lord would free me from the bondage of debt so I can follow Him freely!
  • That I would not have doubt when asking God to move
  • That God would allow me a way to go to CSOM

Ways to Support:

PRAYER:

The Lord constantly reminds me how much prayer is important. Even when He was talking to His disciples in Matthew 9:38. While He could have said “Go!” He, instead said “pray”.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT:

John 12:3 Tells us that Mary, regardless of having little, she gave Jesus a very expensive oil. Not regarding the fact that she could have sold it for twice as much. Instead, she realized the worthiness of Christ and how everything else became worthless when it came to serving Christ.

SHARE THE VISION:

Even if you are not able to help financially, prayer and word of mouth can go a long way! I love to share the story God wrote using me. This is His story and He so graciously allows me to share it.

Thank you all for your time and support! I pray that this would go forth and that you found encouragement through this. Have a blessed day!

Love, Ariana

A Journey of Grace

“ Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrew 4:16

Welcome back beautiful creations of God!

I’m honored that you are taking the time to read and interact with me! This month of March has been…. What’s the word… pruning! Well, so far, this whole year has been. I’ve had to surrender lots of like things, people, ideas, desires and materialistic things. (I wish it were that easy to surrender this weight) JOKES! (Kinda)

Last time we spoke I caught you guys up on the last few months in mostly pictures and very general information. LIKE MOVING TO CALIFORNIA! Anyway this time I want to get in deep; getting into the juicy stuff…

February 25’

Yes, I know! I just said we were in March, BUT things also happened at the end of February that I want to share!

Gerry posing for life group dinner!

Life group is basically when the congregation gathers in groups and attend different houses. (Usually at the pastors house) It’s a time of eating and fellowship with friends but in smaller groups! We do this instead of midweeks and I love it! It’s a time where we can be more open and honest, where everyone has a chance to express themselves. We help one another with prayer, encouragement and love. On this specific day, I cooked the chicken on the grill (my first time eee!) and everyone helped with bringing rice, salad, drinks, beans etc. However, this year we’re doing 2 months life group then 2 months men’s/women’s Bible study.

Praying for the persecuted

There was a call in the Middle East to attack a group of Christians. With horrific violence and evil doings, of course those that were targeted were asking for prayer. So, that’s exactly what we did. We had a time of interceding for them, with everyone making their request made known to God and especially a head of protection for the dads, mothers and children. A couple days later, the attack was called off. The Lord protected them and are able to worship God through this time of terror. Prayer changes things.[Psalm 34:17]

On the way the conference!
David Guzik at CC Downey!

The By Faith conference was amazing! This was a beautiful reminder that God is really faithful when we are faithless.

The worship was absolutely insane! I love that the presence of God was in that room!

We had many gifted pastors teach and were able to encourage us with focusing on the core subject, faith.

I had the privilege to hear David Guzik, David Rosales, Wade Oniell and John Prandall! There was other amazing teachers there like Art Reyes I wasn’t able to see teach however it was truly inspiring and encouraging.

Table talks
College outreach
Behind the scenes editing

This is convinced ministries! I first joined this team around November/ December. I realized that I had so much to learn about apologetics and about defending the word of God while not so much attacking the persons beliefs but to ask them questions to help them question their own faith.

I always had a love for editing and having a social media platform. Now, the Lord used all that I had learned for His glory. We are small but mighty group who want to help get the word of truth out!

We are still new and currently in a trial and error process. This takes time and endurance. However, knowing this will work out for the furtherance of the gospel makes it all worth it.

Grace
Surrendering to trust to receiving

I sold my car! At first, I tried my hardest to keep the Honda. I tried working hard and tried convincing myself that I should keep it. However, after learning about financial peace with Dave Ramsey I learned lots about financial wealth. The Lord had already been preparing my heart for this moment and was already working. I put my car up on Facebook marketplace and one week later it was sold. Another week passed and the Lord provided me with this beauty named Grace. Fully paid off, this lovely couple at church sold me the car and now I am able to focus on paying off the debt I have and allowing God to use me for His glory. One thing I came to realize, is that if I want to be sent out one day, I can’t have debt. Neither will have a fancy red car across the world.

I want to give a humongous thank you to everyone who has blessed me with accountability, guidance, prayer and grace. I know that you are a gift from God because I wouldn’t know how to do anything like this without you.

Answered Prayer:

  • Growth in financial peace
  • Taking class on time management
  • Surrendering everything the Lord calls me too
  • Growing in evangelism and sharing the faith

Prayer Request:

  • Growing and improving on teaching kids/ practice sermons
  • Wisdom on time management and budgeting
  • That I would have a heart of worship
  • To obey where the Lord wants me for summer

Ways to Support:

PRAYER: If I can request anything of you, it would be that you would pray for me. The things I wrote above but that the Lord be magnified in my life. I’ve seen the Lord answered prayer and I know He hears.

FINANCIAL PARTNERSHIP: Although I don’t know where the Lord wants to send me, I would love to go on vision tours and be able to experience different cultures.

SHARE THE VISION: I would love to be able to connect with people interested in supporting a missionary or even just staying in touch. I love when people interact, then I know that this is not in vain.

I thank you all for the time you took to read and write back. It means so much to even see an encouraging word or hearing that you read makes my heart abound. May God bless you and keep you all the days of your life!

Love, Ariana

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭33‬ ‭

He stands at the doors and knocks…

Hello everyone! I hope all is well! Let’s get you caught up on what the Lord has been doing!

August/ September

Drawing Jesus walking on water
Saying goodbye
Bonding time with hairstyles and worship

In August our team went to an unreached tribe in the mountains of Mazatlán. Here we were able to minister and share the good news. They not only received us, but they also received the good news of Jesus Christ.

Pastor Antonio has recently donated over 70 Spanish Bibles to their tribe. With lots of patience, love and dedication, we are all still praying for many leaders to be raised up to pastor their own church!

Saying bye to family
Saying bye to friends

Returning from Mexico and the school, our leaders helped us on this next step journey. I mean, what are we supposed to do after ministering and loving these people, to have them receive Christ- to just leave?

This is not the end. My goal is to see it to the end. Not just to preach, but to teach. That’s when I knew, the Lord isn’t calling me to just preach the gospel but to teach. To dwell in the land He will call me too- long term.

So, I had to say goodbye. It’s never easy, BUT praise God I even have people to say bye to! I packed my bags and I moved to California!

I still visit for holidays! However, each time that I go, it tasks a toll. Looking back at my old newsletters, I knew the cost. Now understanding it- is something else. I pray that my family sees the good works and glorifies our Father in heaven.

October/ November/ December

October activities
November/ December activities

The holidays are so weird now! My first ever Halloween as a Christian! It was the best time ever! We went to someone’s house and was able to set up a popcorn, hotdogs, cotton candy, drinks and of course candy. While hundreds of people came, we were all able to spread the gospel and share the love of Jesus. It was such a fun time.

November was my first whole month living here, I started school and was working. At first it was really lonely and slow (now it’s the complete opposite) I celebrated Thanksgiving with my church here and with my family back in Las Vegas. This was such a blessing.

The reason for the season: Jesus! December was full of peace and serving. There were many events inside and outside of church. I was working hard doing my homework and being social. I definitely would say I should’ve been resting at the feet of Jesus more.

January/ February

Sabbath and conference
College outreach

January was such an awesome month. I received prophetic prayer at the beginning of the year and it was so encouraging and a special experience. I recently ended a relationship, so I was on a spiritual high and felt so close to the Lord. Being broken hearted is much easier to call upon the name of Jesus.

We are currently in the month of February and so far, it’s been really challenging. I feel as though I am in a dry season. However, after speaking to some wise counselors and fellow saints, they helped me realize that IM HUMAN. Feelings and emotions aren’t bad, but they are not something to rely on or to have confidence in. They are a good indicator to point us to what we need (which is the Lord) but not to always listen. We aren’t always going to want to serve or workout or even get out of bed BUT GOD— listen to the word of the Lord. Proverbs 16:3 says “commit your works to the LORD, and your thoughts will be established.” Often times we tend to not WANT to do read our bibles or pray, we can either listen to the flesh and not do it (often times it’s not drawing near to the Lord) or we can commit ourselves to the work (reading and praying) and the Lord will establish our thoughts.

This is a difficult season I’m in. It’s continuous surrender and taking up our cross. I would love prayer for this! Even doing this newsletter has been very difficult, my goal is to send one out every month. (You all have become my accountability partners)

I thank you all for your precious time. Thank you for your fellowship in the gospel and I pray you all abound still more and more in the knowledge and discernment of our Heavenly Father.

Answered Prayers:

  • I am growing in the Lord and becoming the women He’s called me to be!
  • My older siblings Anthony, Julio, Jacky and Deedee have all put their faith in Jesus!
  • The Lord completely providing a way for me to continue this path in doing missions

Prayer Request:

  • That I would be able to organize and keep to a budget and time management
  • That the Lord will provide provision to go on a vision tour
  • That I would be used to be the salt and light of the world (evangelism)

Ways to support:

  • PRAYER. IT CHANGES THINGS! Jeremiah 29:12, The Lord listens to us!Prayer is the most loving and effective ways to show you care, but that you also support me.
  • FINANCIAL PARTNERSHIP. Philippians 4:18-19, God has really blessed me with all that I have. If the Lord has put on your heart to support me in this way, I thank you and pray, knowing that the Lord will supply all your needs too.
  • SHARE IN THE VISION. My hearts desire is that all will call upon the name of Jesus; I can’t do this alone. Sharing this or even what the Lord has been doing in my life can and will help.

Thank you again for your generosity and patience.

“The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26

Love, Ariana

The Goodness of God

Hi everyone! Week one complete! I’m so excited to share with you some of what God has been doing in my life currently! If there’s any part you would like to know more about in detail please feel free to leave a comment down below or reply back to this message!

Tuesday July 9th, 2024

As we arrived to visit Pastor Eddie in CC Home X, he welcomed us in and started to share with us his testimony. He told us all his highs and lows of growing up. Everything that led up to surrendering and living for Jesus Christ. He told us about his near death experiences living as a gang member, as a drug dealer, becoming a father, and being wrongfully imprisoned. This was over the course of many, many years of constant battles and hardship. The Lord always found a way to try to let him know that he was there for him through all of that.

Pastor Eddie sharing his testimony

Since then, Pastor Eddie has been teaching the young and old all about the Bible. He even does many other things in his community like visiting many people down at the dump. Calvary Chapel Homex they typically go down 2-3 times a week (sometimes more). Eddie gave us the privilege of leading us and introducing us to tons of our brothers and sisters living down there. The Lord led me to talk to Pascual, he told me that he’d been living there for a few years now and has wanted to attend church. Due to back, knee and hand mobility he has difficulty getting to and from places. He also told me that he knows about Jesus and has wanted to build more of a relationship, but also has trouble reading.

Praying for our sister

Friday July 12th, 2024

After going to midweek service and teachings throughout the week we were finally able to do another outreach! This time we decided to go to a park down in Rosarito! As soon as we got there we quickly set up our stations like face painting, nail painting, bracelet making, balloon art and a play! We spilt up in groups and went around the neighborhood telling everyone about the event we were hosting. Many of them came, but for lots of them we were able to share the gospel and pray for them.

I was able to talk to a few parents, kids and even hold this cute, chunky baby named Santiago. After some time I kept noticing this woman sitting alone in the distance. I prayed that the Holy Spirit would bless my evangelism and give me the words He wants me to use. As I went up to her, she was very sweet and told me that she was taking care of her niece and nephew. I asked her if I could practice telling her my testimony in Spanish since I’ve never done it before and wanted to practice. Through all the ‘uhh, umm, and huh’ I was able to share with her my experience. Before I left, we prayed. She continued to ask me questions so I stayed talking to her. She shared with me that she had been feeling depressed for a while now since she was lonely. I shared with her the good news, and asked if she had dedicated her life to Christ, she told me no, but that she would like too. I smiled, and walked her through Romans 10:9. I was extremely proud and happy for her, I prayed for her once again, made sure she had our church information and she went on her way. After that we decided to pack up and head back home.

I would just like to thank God for all those opportunities he allowed me to go through. All those people I was able to meet during the week and just on the streets. Thank you Jesus!

I would love if could you pray:

~To remove the cultural beliefs I’ve been attached to for so long, so that I may be sent to reach the unreached and share the good news.

Are You Ready?

My name is Ariana Landaverde and I’m here in Rosarito, Mexico for the summer. I’m attending the Calvary School of Missions for the next 6 weeks. This school’s main focus is to help educate and help guide young people who feel a call to missions to understand that calling. I’m attending a school with classes from 9am all the way until 12. In the afternoons we are going out in the community to do different outreaches in partnership with local churches. We’re having worship nights, guest missionary speakers, and many other activities during the day.

Before leaving to Mexico, we all met in Orange County, California. My team and I received prayer from the missions sending church right before our journey. This was such a moving and beautiful experience. You can truly feel the Holy Spirit move!

Receiving prayer from church at Calvary Chapel Saving Grace

I came here to learn more about Jesus. Not just know about Him but to know and have a relationship with Him. To fully surrender myself to live out His will in my life! This was the first lesson that was taught! To be like a blank sheet of paper, ready for knowledge, ready to receive His word.

Having this time to truly spend time with God is a blessing and an answered prayer!

All staff and students as we departed to Mexico.

I would love to pray for you! If you have any prayer requests please leave a comment below or respond to this email!
