Do You Hear That?

Hi Everyone!

It’s surprising to me to say that it’s only been a week since I wrote my last update to you all. So much has happened! I’ve been very prayerful as to what I should write you on this week. So, know that whatever you have received is something the Lord has placed on my heart to bring to your hands. I hope it is something you all appreciate and enjoy reading.

DO YOU HEAR THAT?… Someone is Crying

Can you truly hear what you aren’t listening for? I don’t believe you can. This week I’ve come to a place of intently listening, and I hear the cry. It’s the cry of the lost, the unreached, and those desperate for the gospel they have never heard. AND THERE ARE 3.4 BILLION PEOPLE. People that God loves so fiercely the same way he loves you and I. We are the same in the the way we are loved by Him but we are not the same in the way we have access to Him, but that can be changed.

Throughout this week’s classes we have been discussing the purpose of the big C church, meaning whole body of christ (which exists globally). In studying scripture to clarify this purpose we as followers of Christ are left with a great responsibility. That responsibility is to go and reach those 3.4 billion with the name of Jesus. (Act 1:8, Matt. 28:18-20, John 20:21, Mark 16:15-20, Luke 24:46-49) I am blessed to serve a God who is steadfast in love and abundant in mercies. He offered me freedom, and who would I be if I kept it to myself. Who would we be?

Each week here at CSOM we are assigned a specific book or two to read and finish. This week’s assigned reading was Radical by David Platt. I would encourage everyone of you to read this book if you haven’t already and if you have… read it again. It is sobering and convicting. And honestly if you are someone who isn’t sure why I would spend my summer and ultimately my life in this way I think it might offer you a bit of an insight, and along the way you may find that it speaks it you as well.

This is just the smallest glimpse into what we’ve been discussing this week, but lucky for you I’ll have a notebook full of notes when I come back, all of which I would love to share with you.

OUTREACH UPDATE

The three outreaches we had this week were a dump outreach, a park outreach, and a movie night outreach. Before I get into a few of the details I just want to say thank you for all your prayers. The Lord was certainly moving.

The dump outreach truly brought life into a more realistic point of view. It was a dump… but It was also a home and a neighborhood of people many of which didn’t have a relationship with Christ. It brings me a lot of joy to say that two people were saved during this outreach. One of which was a leader of a satanic cult within the dump! The salvation of this man not only has great power in his life but it has a great power of influence to those around him.

The last two out reaches were fairly similar. They had a focus on children within the community…And somehow I found myself to be a full fledged actress in both of them. I’m sure you are all thinking how much of a bummer it was that you missed out on these two skits haha. All jokes aside they were both a success and it was wonderful to be able to minister to and love on the families that came out for them.
