MADE IT TO MEXICO

I’m finally here! It felt like this time wasn’t going to come soon enough and now I’m finally in Mexico. We arrived in Rosarito Mexico yesterday (July 7th) evening. As I was preparing to leave the Lord provided me with sweet moments of encouragement through many of you. I received a series of texts, visits, and prayers; all of which were ways the Lord was ministering to my heart. Preparing to leave to do something the Lord has called you to do comes with its challenges. There becomes a target on your back where the enemy is now aiming his attacks of discouragement. I hope all of you know that your prayers, and kind words served as a counteraction to every one of those discouragements.
??? SURRENDERED ACROSS THE BORDER ???

You might be wondering what this means….Let all your fears subside! The only thing I’m surrendering to is the Lord. In the single day of being here in Rosarito we have already learned so much – I am beyond excited for all I can learn in the month ahead of me. The first topic and biggest point of the School of Missions is surrender. Hence my silly little “hook, line, and sinker”. As a human being I think it’s fair to say that we run to making plans for ourselves, and creating a vision for what we want our lives to look like. It’s a natural urge, but like many things that we naturally run to the Lord asks us to lay it down. We have been encouraged here as students to lay down our own vision for our lives and surrender it to the Lord.
If you read my previous newsletter you’ll already know a little bit about what the Lord has taught me in this last year about surrender. I am so grateful that the Lord’s lesson over this topic never ceases. Below is a quote from my Pastor, and School of missions teacher, Trent Douglass.
“If it starts with us it’ll end with us…If it starts with God it’ll end with God”
We want our lives to be for the Glory of the God and I think this quote quite simply describes how that is done. God’s plans for our lives can only be achieved with a complete surrender from us. As we surrender we will see the wonderful plans he has for us unfold; which is how I made it here to Mexico in the first place. I hope this encourages and convicts you just as much as it did me.
