Ends of the Earth Ministries

The Douglass Family

Please keep me in prayer as I travel on a two week trip to Sudan, returning March 3. Our national missionaries will be gathering in one location for a time of encouragement, Biblical training and rest. These men and women are working in extremely difficult areas. They daily face a spiritual oppression as they strive to bring the gospel to remote tribes who have been steeped in witch craft and animism for centuries.

Most of our missionaries are Kenyan and even those who are Sudanese, are working within tribes that have very different cultural norms than they are familiar with. I will be teaching them various aspects of culture, its impact on the community as well as the missionary and how to adjust and embrace a culture so the message of the gospel can be received. Our times of discussion are always eye-opening as I hear the difficulties that our missionaries face.

Please pray this time would be refreshing for them and that they would be strengthened to continue serving the Lord amidst the tribes He has called them to live among.

Thank you for your prayers.

Yours for the Unreached,
Pastor Rob ~  email: info@eem1040.org

Praises:
For a great visit with Cindy’s parent’s last weekend.

Prayer Requests:
-Please keep praying for us and Noah. We were at the dr today after a long night. He is coughing like he is clearing his throat. We are now going to be putting him to sleep on his tummy cause we have had a couple of times where he spits ups and acts like he is drowning. Also we will be adding rice cereal to his bottle to help try and keep it down. Plus we are to finish his medicine. Dr wants both Chris and I to take CPR class. We will be having him have x rays on friday (Feb 24th) where they will put special stuff in his bottle and x raying him while I feed him. Pray for me for strength and energy and to trust God with Noah’s health and life. We am tired of trying all these different things. It is wearing on both of us. Pray we would cling to Jesus as we walk through all of this health stuff. He is our little love and we love him so much. Thank you friends!

- For our walks with God…that they would be rich and full.  Also for cindy to find time each day to spend time reading the word.

- For the Health of our family.  Colds are going around again..pray for protection and good health for all of us, especially little Noah.

- For a second car for us. God has a perfect timing.  Pray that we would trust Him for the perfect car for us.

Thanks for praying!! We are so thankful for you.

Marc & Linda McSweeny

Prayer Requests:

1) Please pray for the birth of the child and our adjustment to our new family life. Pray for strength and wisdom as we will have even more responsibility than now.

2) Pray for Linda’s CD, that God would give her wisdom for the final production decisions. The finishing touches have been a source of unforeseen stress and we would like to be finished with it soon.

3) Pray for the Open Doors information & prayer night on March 2nd, that it would be well attended and that it would stimulate the church to prayer. This is also a great opportunity for our new convert to get involved in the church. We are praying the event would encourage him.

4) Please pray for a renewed passion for the Lord for myself. I feel like the concerns of daily living and my responsibilities have weighed down my heart a bit.

Thanks for your prayers and support!

God bless!

Please Pray for Nepal

SGWM is committing the month of February in praying for Nepal.

The land-locked nation of Nepal between China and India was, until 2006, the world’s only officially Hindu nation, with 86 percent of the population being Hindu and only 0.6 percent Christian. Today, Christians make up 2.8 percent of the population while Hindus account for 75 percent. People who convert from Hinduism to another religion may be socially ostracized, and proselytizing is officially prohibited.

Government: The new Interim government established in 2007 is officially secular and protects the right to practice one’s religion. The Interim Constitution denies the right to proselytize.

A strong Buddhist population in Nepal recently rose against a group of Christians and drove them out of their village with their pastor.

According to the Voice of the Martyrs, Canada, the Nepali pastor was accused of bringing a foreign religion into the village and teaching ideals that were offensive to society.

Attackers also accused Christians of bribing and coercing other villagers into converting, an act frowned upon by society.

While the anti-conversion laws are not officially in effect in Nepal, anti-conversion law language has been used by the Nepali government in their ongoing process of drafting a constitution.

A worker with the Voice of the Martyrs helped the believers resettle in another village.

Please join us in praying:

1. Please pray for lasting peace for Nepal—and for its people who have suffered so much to find true healing and redemption in Christ.

2. Please pray that the missionaries in Nepal will be filled with joy, Christ’s love and physical stamina as they diligently take His Good News to their people. Pray they will encounter receptive hearts, and pray for new believers to be strengthened daily in their faith.

3. Pray for believers in Nepal who are facing hardships for the sake of Christ.

4. Pray that the passion these believers have for Christ will be the light that draws others to Jesus (Matthew 5:14-16).

5. Pray that Christians will practice their faith with courage.

6. Please pray that hostility against Christians in Nepal will cease and that believers will be allowed to live and worship freely. Pray that despite the lack of freedom to share the hope of faith in Christ, the Lord will give Christians opportunities to evangelize.

Thank you for praying for us! Your prayers are impacting lives and helping

“Reach the Nations…One Soul at a Time”.
