Dear Friends and Family,

Thank you for your prayer support and interest in the ministry of CC Magazine.

Many things have happened since my last update in April. Calvary Chapel Magazine(CCM) was blessed to participate in three conferences, each of which afforded an opportunity to talk about recent changes in the magazine.

Issue 44 was the first issue with an expanded contents page, a practical application page, a full page dedicated to God’s plan of salvation, and photos in the praise and prayer section. Please take a few minutes to look at them and let me know what you think.

MAY

CC Magazine writer, Debra, answers questions.

In May, the staff was encouraged at CC Philadelphia’s annual missions conference.  It is not well known that as a means of support CCM sells picture greeting cards containing photos suitable for framing/displaying. We were encouraged when several conference attendees purchased cards. Please send me an email if you would like more information about these cards. Currently, CC Costa, CA and CC Aurora, CO sell them in their chapel book stores.

It was at the Philadelphia conference that we established our Facebook page and added our first album of photos. Later we added a video of a CCM shipment day at CC Fredericksburg.

JUNE

In June, Tom Price, editor, and I attended the annual senior pastors conference in Murrieta, CA. This conference is an opportunity to  talk with pastors about missions and how the Lord is using their fellowship of believers to share the Good News. Through these conversations, we believe the Lord will reveal stories for up coming issues.

It was also an opportunity for me to answer questions pastors have about the ministry of CCM. We like to remind pastors that CCM is a ministry partner. As you know, CC Magazine is not just a collection of “good” stories. It is a testimony of God’s ongoing work through the body of Christ “for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”

This year we encouraged pastors to affix address and contact labels on the back of the magazine before distributing them at their churches. When the magazine is shared in the community the labels gives residents a local connection to a worldwide ministry.

Finally, we participated in CC Downey’s annual missions conference. This was the first time we had the privilege to share with believers at CCD about the ministry of CC Magazine and it was a tremendous blessing.
It was encouraging to hear first hand from Clive Welsh, a missionary in Belize. He looks forward to reading the magazine each quarter. He said, he reads the magazine cover to cover as soon as he receives it, then passes it on to the pastor at Saving Grace Christian Fellowship, Spanish Lookout.

JULY

I returned to Virginia in late June and immediately began working on finalizing the Fall issue. It went to the printer on July 29th. Lord willing, it be in the mail August 10th.

FINAL THOUGHTS

May I ask that you consider giving a gift subscription to an international missionary? It would be a gift encouragement and a way for them to feel connected to the extended church.

The last three months were jammed packed. There continues to be an onslaught of spiritual attacks. Please remember us in your prayers.

May the Lord bless you and keep  you in His love.

* Pray for us as we begin to work on issue 46, Winter 2011
* Pray church bulk order cancellations will stop.  Each cancellation has an impact. Pray for the Lord to provide for CC fellowships.
* Pray for Tom Price, editor. Please ask for wisdom and discernment for Tom as he leads the minstry through challenging financial times.
* Please pray for the ministries in each issue and the missionaries in the praise and prayer section
* Pray that I daily surrender all to Jesus and draw close to Him.
* Pray for my personal mission trip to Egypt. I am part of team from CC Aurora returning to Egypt in Oct. Please pray for the ten-member team and for believers in Cairo.

April 2010 Update

Dear Saints,

As we at CC Magazine report on the work the Lord is doing around the world,  I believe the Lord is using His work of the

Magazine in similar ways. Yet, it is rare for us to hear or see the fruit of the Magazine ministry.

I am thankful when the Lord allows us to hear  how He uses the Magazine to reach believers and non-believers.

As you read the testimony below, remember your love, your  faithfulness to pray for us and your  personal sacrifices are bearing fruit for the Kingdom of God.

Hi Dena!

I don’t know if you remember me, but we met early one morning in Murrieta during that beautiful sunrise. I just wanted to write you and let you know what a blessing the Calvary Chapel Magazine has been to me over the years. It has also been a tool the Lord has used for my life…

About 5 years ago (maybe longer) I started really having a heavy heart for missions-I believe that during this time the Lord was planting France in my heart as I just “knew” it was the call He had on my life.  At that time, I was quite young in my walk with God and not ready or stable enough for the mission field.  When I stumbled upon that magazine at church (I go to Costa Mesa Calvary Chapel and they provide copies for the church body), I found the missionary prayer requests in the back of the magazine. Since it’s organized by countries I found France right away and was introduced to the missionaries there and their needs.

Immediately I was able to minister in France through prayerand a small amount of financial support.  Over the next several years I looked forward to each season’s edition of the magazine and would read over various prayer requests, but always following the work in France.  It was there that I found out about the Calvary in Nice as well as in Paris and in time was able to visit both.  I went to CC Paris several times and visited Nice last April for the first time.  On Monday-four days from now!- I will be moving to Nice, France to begin my own venture on long-term, full-time ministry in France.

This magazine has such purpose of uniting the body of Christ.  It not only can actually connect people, but it makes all of us, the body of Christ, aware of what He is doing all around the world through these Christ-centered, Bible believing Calvary Chapels. .  The works are amazing and I know there are people who are brought 1. to a deeper relationship with Jesus as they see the fruit of His ministry 2. to a call into mission work (either support or as an actual “goer”) 3. understanding of the bigger picture of the body of Christ.

Anyway Dena, it was wonderful meeting you and thank you so much for your ministry!
