Vincent Family September 2017 Missions UPdate

Dear ministry partners!

Last month, I was blessed to take a missions trip to visit one of our newest church plants! What made this trip extra special was that it was the first missions trip that I was able to take with my 15 year old son Daniel! Back in January of this year, we sent out our 16th church plant to the 2nd largest city in Mexico Guadalajara. (Over 8 million inhabitance)

Lalo and Linda Fernandez (our church planters) have done an amazing job planting this church, and after just 8 months they have a small but healthy congregation!

My son Daniel has been a faithful servant at our church (along with many of our other youth, so over the past few months our staff has been planning a father son mission’s trip! On this trip, I was accompanied by a  a missionary friend (Bradford Larson) and one of my close friends and assistant Pastors Fernando Serrano. We all have 15 year old sons, so we decided to use this trip to not only serve the Lord but bond together.

After arriving in Guadalajara, we spent the first day exploring the city center, testing the local cuisine, and hitting some of the museums. (These are homeschooled boys, so had to include HISTORY and Geography lessons,  whether they wanted them or not)

The main focus of this trip was ministering to our new friends in this church plant! On Saturday Fernando and I taught a FUNDAMENTALS of the Faith conference. With teachings on Jesus, salvation, the church, and serving, the over 40 adults in attendance were focused and attentive.

Our three boys were in charge of the children’s ministry! They handled the 10 children expertly mixing in Bible stories, games, snacks and arts and crafts over the four hours.  The local children enjoyed our sons children’s ministry so much, that they asked the Pastor if they could do it all over again on Sunday!

On Sunday we had the privilege of leading worship for the budding church and I was able to teach about the resurrection of Jesus from the Gospel of John! We were pleasantly surprised to see this group of mostly new believers not only serious about their faith, but eager to study their Bibles.  We also had a homeless man wander in, attend the service, and make a first time profession of faith!

Our church was able to provide this young ministry with a sound system, cables, and microphones.  It is so encouraging to see God moving in this largely unreached city packed wall to wall with people.  But for us as fathers, our greatest blessing was seeing our boys praying and serving and leading us in devotions.

As the Apostle John so ably put it 2000 years ago, “I have no greater joy than to hear my children walk in the truth!”  (3 John 1:4)  Please keep this young church plant in your prayers, and join us in asking that God will continue to add daily those that are being saved, just like He did in the days of the early church!

Thank you once again for your love, prayers, and financial support of our family here on the mission field of Mexico! It is through your prayers that God meets our spiritual needs, and it is through your financial giving that God meets our physical needs!  We love you and appreciate you!

Con mucho amor de Mexico, (with much love from Mexico)

Mike,  Sarah, Grace, and Daniel
