The Countdown Begins

Day Countdown

We’ve started the countdown of the number of days until we will no longer be able to rent Connections House. That’s right. If you haven’t heard this story, allow us to quickly catch you up. God directed us to this facility after over a year of praying and many months of searching. It seemed to be where God was calling us, and it has proven to be an absolute blessing! We have a two-bedroom apartment for our family, a separate home with six bedrooms that sleeps 26 people, a separate room to house up to four more team members or volunteers, a large dining area, five bathrooms, a basketball court/recreation area, a huge garage/parking area, and more than enough outdoor space for teams to have meeting or just hang out in. And all this sits on three city lots, is secured behind a metal fence, and is located only five minutes from church and downtown Rosarito.

The other important piece of information here is that the owners were not so keen on renting the place, as they were looking to sell. However, with the Lord’s help, they agreed to rent it out for one year. After that, in order to stay, we will need to purchase the property in three, large lump sums. The first payment of $55,000 is due on March 1, 2017 (198 days from now). The second payment in the same amount will come due March 1, 2018, with a final equal payment due one year after that.

2016-08-12 CR Group at CR Summit - Saddleback Church, Lake Forest, CA

Kristy had the opportunity last week to attend a 3-day leadership training summit for Celebrate Recovery. This is a ministry that Kristy has been part of for two and a half years (almost two years of which she has been in charge of all the worship for CR). It was a huge blessing to spend this time learning how to better provide worship, as well as learning more about Celebrate Recovery and how it has helped so many people overcome their hurts, habits, and hang-ups. It is truly amazing to be part of a ministry that has changed so many lives!

The only problem with this situation exists because we are Americans trying to purchase land in Mexico. Therefore, Mexican banks will not give us a loan because we are American, and American banks will not give us a loan for Mexican property. So the alternative is to raise the funds for the ministry to be able to purchase the property. The countdown has begun, and God has provided $3,100 so far toward the purchase. We are asking all of you and the churches that we have partnered with to consider giving to this vital aspect of our ministry. It has been such a relief to have dorms for our teams to stay in. Before Connections House, we had only one option for team housing that is nearby. Everything else would have required the teams to drive up to ninety minutes round trip every day, which as you can imagine, would seriously cut into their ministry team.

If you would like give, you may do so at the address below. If you have questions, we would love to answer them. We are also available to come and speak to your missions/elder boards, to pastors, or at any fundraisers you/your church would like to organize. We know that the Lord will be faithful to provide! Please pray how He would have you partner with us on this journey. Thank you so much and God bless!!
