Our Testimony

Darryl, the son of a bi-vocational lay pastor in Missouri, grew up in a Christian family and church environment.  At the age of five, he accepted Christ as his personal savior.  During his time as a student at a secular university, he nearly lost his faith.  Christian radio and research into the evidence for Christianity renewed his faith.  From 2000-2003 Darryl worked as an English teacher at a university in Cambodia and ministered to students and others outside of the classroom.  During this time, God called him to be a long-term missionary in Cambodia and to focus on developing multi-media resources that clearly proclaim the Truth of God’s Word.  Darryl earned an MA in Christian Apologetics from Biola University.

Kayo was born in Japan into a non-Christian family.  She attended a Christian high school where a Christian teacher planted the seeds of the Gospel.   She accepted Christ while she was a college student in Tokyo.  During short-term mission trips God called her to be a long-term missionary.  She came to Biola University and earned an MA in Bible Exposition from Talbot.

Darryl and Kayo met at Biola and have been sent out as missionaries by Calvary Chapel La Mirada.  They were married in 2004.  They have been missionaries in Cambodia since September, 2007.  Benjamin was born in 2008.
