Hold a missions Bible study

Invite people to look at topics relevant to missions. Here are some books and ideas to get you started:

Host a dessert party

Invite some friends over for dessert and mix it with some insight on missions. Have a missionary or missionary kid tell their story; show a missionary video or discuss an excited event that is going on in world mission; pray together for missionary prayer requests.

Share the word about SGWM

• Take a friend or family member through the SGWM web site.
• Print SGWM materials and give them to people interested in missions.
• Share the SGWM video or give items with the SGWM logo and web site address.

Help individuals connect with SGWM missionaries

• Give a friend a missionary's address, a blank card, an envelope and postage.
• Give a friend a missionary's phone number and a phone card.
• Give a friend a missionary's e-mail address.
• Introduce missionaries on home assignment or home staff to your friends.

Talk to your church leaders

Spend time with you church leaders – pastor, missions pastor, elders, missions committee – and talk about missions. Share SGWM's vision, and discuss the idea of the church partnering with SGWM or with an SGWM missionary.

Promote a missionary

Become an advocate for a missionary in your church, group, study, or circle of friends.

• Talk about their vision for ministry.
• Share their prayer requests.
• Encourage people to give to meet their financial needs.

Encourage prayer for World Missions

Subscribe to SGWM’s e-mail list, and share the requests with your church, your small group, or your friends.

Adopt a project

With your church, group, study, or circle of friends, find an SGWM project you would like to get involved with. Have a bake sale or a garage sale, or find creative ways for others to help raise funds, such as walkathons or auctions.
