Vincent Family September 2010 Missions Update
Summer Fun!
Greetings to you from Mexico! The summer has now come and gone and we wanted to recap some of the exciting things that God did here through the ministry in this past month.

Mother Daughter Luncheon
We began the month of August with a Mother daughter luncheon. Many of the mothers in our fellowship came out for a special day of fellowship and pampering with their daughters.

Mom's getting the ultimate Makeover with their daughters!
During this afternoon event, the mothers and daughters completed a number of fun activities, but the highlight (at least for the daughters) seemed to be the “nail room” and the “hair room.” In both of these activities, the daughters were allowed to give their mom’s the ultimate makeover. Needless to say many of the mothers returned home with some creative hairstyles and with their nails painted in some very interesting colors.

In spite of all the fun, the focus of the mother daughter event was the sermon. Sarah presented a message titled “The Bride and the Bridegroom” taken from Matthew Chapter 25. It was a blessing to witness God bringing restoration and healing to the relationships between the many mothers and the daughters in attendance. The afternoon ended with the mothers and daughters praying and sharing communion together.

The next week our church hosted our annual summer vacation Bible school for children. The theme this year was “The Harvest” and for the over 100 children that attended, their week was filled with rip roaring fun!

Children enjoying Vacation Bible School
The Bible school staff, decked out in country western attire, led the four age divided groups throughout the church which had been transformed into a farm. Each day of the week the children explored the farm and visited the animal pens to complete a fun craft, the crop fields for outdoor fun, the feeding trough (for yummy snacks), and the barn for a Bible lesson taught from the mouths of the farm animals.
That entire week our church was filled with smiles and laughter from sunrise to sundown. A sight that we know brought much joy to our heavenly Father’s heart.

Praying for some of the newly baptized believers
Our church finished up the summer with our annual “End of the Summer Beach Baptism and BBQ Bash!” We couldn’t have dreamed up a more fantastic way to say goodbye to summer than witnessing 17 new believers making public professions of their faith through baptism.

A father that baptized his son with me
A special blessing at this particular baptism was the 10 older children and youth that decided to be baptized. Seven of them live at two local orphanages that call our church their home. It was a blessing for me to baptize these youth that have suffered through so much, but have now been given a wonderful 2nd chance at life by our Lord Jesus Christ.
At our church, whenever we have an older child or youth that wants to be baptized we ask their parents to discuss salvation and baptism with them ahead of time. If they decide as a family that they their child is ready for this next step, we have the parent baptize the child with me as their Pastor. It is amazing to see these fathers join in to baptize their children.

Grandpa and Grandmas Kettle Corn comes to Mexico
Our family waved goodbye to our summer with a special visit by our parents here to Mexico. And as a special blessing, for the first time they crossed the border with their tasty kettle corn business.
When my parents arrived, our family traveled the 10 miles east to Tijuana where we visited them at the Tijuana Street fair that they were working at. Our children were having so much fun with Grandpa and Grandma that Sarah and I left them for a few hours, where they got to use their expert Spanish to work selling Kettle Corn.

Finally, once again we would like to thank each one of you for partnering with us. We couldn’t do any of this work without your love, prayers, and support. We love you!

Prayer Requests:
1. Please pray for our upcoming citywide outreach events this fall.
2. Please pray for Daniel and Grace’s new upcoming homeschooling year. We desire that not only do our children grow academically, but more importantly spiritually.
3. Please pray that God would continue to provide support for our family, the church, and the families in the church during these difficult economic times.
