Haiti Team Update 2 – From Pastor Brent Kaser
Nancy Kaser here, reporting for Brent…
The team has arrived safely in Croix de Bouquet. They finished setting up their tents at around 2am, Haiti time. The trip there was very long, and they are all quite tired, but they are rejoicing in how God has already shown His favor to them.
The team arrived at LAX with 1700 lbs of medical supplies, over-sized relief pods, and questionably-sized carry-on backpacks. We had prayed that the airline would be lenient on the over-size charges… and they ended up WAIVING ALL FEES!!! We are rejoicing because this means that even more of the funds that each missionary raised can be used for the Haitian people.
During their layover in Puerto Rico this morning, they met up with a team from Firefighters for Christ, who were heading home from their own trip to Haiti. The FFC team was able to share with our leaders some tips that they learned that will save our team valuable time and resources, and should help them maximize their trip.
The team is uniting and the jokes are flying- particularly between Dr. Yong Park (who weighs in at 115 lbs) and Joe Pendergrass (who tips the scales at 400 lbs). Dr. Park has claimed Joe as his own personal bodyguard and is insisting that Joe’s only role on this team is to get between him and “Bubba.”
Please pray that the team will be rested and ready to do some serious ministry in the morning. We are so thankful for your partnership.
Until the last one hears,
Nancy Kaser for the Haiti Team
