Gearldine Wilkins January 2010 Update

“And who is sufficient for all these things?”

“Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as [being] from ourselves, but our sufficiency [is] from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit;  for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.”

These verses in 2 Cornithians were one of several encouragements I was blessed to receive at the annual Missions Conference in Murrieta, CA.

Every January, I eagerly await what the Lord will minister to me at the conference. Many times He reveals another layer of flawed human thinking I have. He peels away earthly wisdom a layer at a time. Thank you Jesus!

I want to be transformed by the renewing of my mind. Don’t you? Please, Jesus, wash and clean our minds with your truth. The refreshed feeling I receive at the conference comes from being showered with the presence of His Spirit, cleansing of His Word, and the fragance of Christ(life) emanating from missionaries who are ministers of the Gospel.

Thanks again for your prayers, letters and email. The last two weeks of January are crunch time for the next issue. Please pray for the staff and volunteers. The Spring issue continues to change. In particular pray the Lord will guide us on how to share what He is doing in Haiti.
