  1. Newsletter: Spring 2008

    Dear Friends,
Spring greetings from Esztergom, Hungary! All of creation reflects the
Lord’s beauty and majesty. He has shown Himself strong in the Kids Club
ministry in Sturovo, Slovakia by bringing kids back whom we have not
seen in a while. One young girl, Brigi, had been stolen
away by the enemy last year. In answer to your prayers,
the Lord has brought her back. During the winter months
when many had lost interest, Brigi was always there.
Every Friday she was waiting for us to arrive, and on
Sunday mornings Brigi was waiting to go to church. She
often brought new friends to church and Kids Club. We
have seen God change and grow Brigi into a young teen
who prays for others and reads the Word.
The winter months were a time of steady plowing and preparation for
planting. Twice a week Sam made the three-hour round trip train commute
to Budapest for Hungarian language school. Improved language skills give
us opportunities to share the love of Christ with the Hungarian people. We
look forward to the Lord using what He has taught us to impact the lives of
the Kids Club children. Seeds continue to be planted when they see our
family change as God brings us victoriously through life’s challenges.
Over the past few months God has continued to share His love and teach
us new things. He renewed in us a desire to first serve the One who called
us, the Lord Jesus. Our ministry journey here takes much patience and
watering while tending, but the Lord has reminded us that our hope is in the
harvest! Where we are not always faithful, the Lord is! We’ve been blessed
with opportunities to meet some of the parents and share what Kids Club is
all about, and we anticipate seeing God touch them through their kids. Our
prayers continue for these parents, and we know that the Lord will draw
them in His time. God’s Word never returns to Him void!
We’re continuously encouraged to see fruit from the Kids Club ministry.
Through your prayers and support we can reclaim what the enemy has
taken. We’re eagerly awaiting all that the Lord will do in this summer’s
VBS outreach. May our lives continue to reflect the love of Jesus and
boldly lift up His name. To Him goes all the praise, honor, and glory.
    Praising Him,
    The McCartneys
