  1. Newsletter Update: Summer 2007

    Summer Greetings from Hungary!
We’ve lived in Hungary for a year and have so much for which to be thankful. Your faithful prayers and support made this
possible. We were blessed with a mild winter—making traveling by bicycle especially nice—and with dry weather when traveling
to Kids Club. Spring was very beautiful with large rolling fields carpeted in bright yellow flowers.
In May, we witnessed fruit from seeds planted during our first short-term mission trip here four years ago. We took three boys and
two girls from Slovakia to a 3-day youth conference at the Calvary Chapel Bible College in Vijta, Hungary. God had put these
three boys on our hearts during that first mission trip, which led to our moving here. At the conference, all five teenagers enjoyed
meeting other Hungarian Christian kids, hearing God’s Word through praise & worship, Bible teaching, and a concert by Extreme
Generation, a Christian Hungarian band. Many hearts were open to the Holy Spirit, and the conference ended with one of our
youth accepting Christ—a wonderful reminder that serving Him is all for His glory!
God instilled in us a love for the “Kids Club” kids, and we are humbled that He uses us to impact their lives. We’re not providing a
flashy program, but we witness God at work each week as we share our hearts and the love of Christ. Most of the kids are from
divorced families with only their moms to support them. They need to know they are loved and safe when spending time together.
This summer we will be blessed to serve with a short-term mission team from Fredericksburg, Virginia, who will provide a VBS
for youth in Esztergom, Hungary and Sturovo, Slovakia. Pray that the harvest will be great.
Praise God for His answers to prayers above and beyond what we imagined for a spacious house with a yard that provides enough
room for the youth from Kids Club to come and hang out, and a driveway to park the VW nine-passenger van He also provided.
We pray that this summer will give you a renewed hope and vision for the Lord’s plans for you. Everyone needs to hear about the
love of our Savior, Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the cross. Who knows where the Lord may lead you?
    Praising Him,
    The McCartneys
