A Note from Pastor Brian

Bringing Two Kinds of Water

Dear brothers and sisters:

Bukuya is a small rural village about two hours outside of Kampala.  The people there live by growing crops, and a number of the villagers follow Islam or Catholicism. By God’s grace we have been given farm land in the village and we hope to provide economic opportunity for our Arise Christian Fellowship brothers and sisters to raise their own crops to sell in the Kampala Marketplace. At the same time we seeking the Lord about the best ways to reach the local people.

I visited Bukuya for the first time last September. While there I saw the well (pond) where they get water and my heart was moved for people. It was so dirty and obviously not ideal for drinking. I wanted to help them get clean water. As I researched the situation more I discovered the pond is made from underground running water. If we can use a well to gain access this water the village will have a clean water source. We have gotten estimates for doing this and the cost is $1,000. Please pray for God’s provision for this need.

We did our first outreach in Bukuya this month. Along with sharing the gospel we dewormed the children and presented them with a soccer ball as a gift from Calvary Chapel Saving Grace. The outreach only increased our desire to begin the process of helping to provide clean water.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for remembering us in prayer.  Your prayers are precious to us which is why I am sending this note to you today—so that you can pray about this opportunity that God has put before us.

God bless you!
