Happiness and Heartbreak

“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.” Isaiah 6:8

Calvary School of Missions

The Calvary School of Missions is a new program that provides teaching, training, ministry opportunities and internship for young adults who feel called to serve the Lord full-time on the mission field. We wished we would have had something like this before launching into the 100’s of unknowns that awaited us when we stepped out and began ministry in Asia and Africa. We had several mentors, but so much of what we have learned over the past decade was on the “job”.

This past month, we were invited to teach for a week in Rosarito, Mexico at the Calvary School of Missions. To be in the midst of a group of young people who have hearts to reach the nations with visions of planting churches, starting orphanages, and taking huge steps of faith was encouraging for us. We were able to teach on living a life of faith, equipping nationals, being a blessing and not a burden and a host of other topics. Sharing our story, reminded us of how far God has brought us, how faithful He has been every step of the way, and how truly thankful we are to have you partnering with us in this crazy journey He has us on.

We also had the opportunity to visit Calvary Chapel Rosarito and Bond was privileged to teach the mid-week service to a packed house. This is where the Lord led us when we first received training from Pastor Mike and Sarah Vincent who have been such great examples to us over the years on so many fronts. Praise God they have planted 22 churches with more on the way.

Pray for the current students at the Calvary School of Missions as they have a few more weeks and then will be placed in an internship. Pray the Lord would launch them all over the world as truly the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few. Pray for Calvary Chapel Rosarito as they serve as a hub in Mexico and that many more church planters would be launched out.

Happiness & Heartbreak on the Family Front

Breanna had a blast this past month as we went on a Cousin Camping trip with our family, celebrated her 4th birthday, went on her first bike ride and was blessed with swim lessons. While we had fun making memories in CA that we will all treasure, we also experienced a lot of time in the hospital as Heather’s dad Lee (she has two dads) is battling cancer. It is times like these where leaving family is heartbreaking as video calls are just not the same. Please keep Heather’s dad Lee in your prayers as he is on hospice.

We arrived safely in Nepal and request your prayers as school has started this week. Please also keep our friends in S. Asia and the various campuses in prayer as there were several serious issues that took place there this past month. Pray that God would protect each campus, all of the staff and students and that the work of the ministry in S. Asia would continue to go forth without any hindrance.

With Love from Nepal,

Bond, Heather and Breanna Gaona
