We feel very blessed that over the years we have had wonderful men and women invest, disciple, mentor and pour the Word of God into us. From our formative years to college to church planting to serving on the overseas mission field there are countless people (so many of you reading this right now) who have spent the time, resources and funds to equip us. The precious people in the countries we minister in, haven’t had the same opportunities, teaching, or resources….until now! We find it such a great honor to give out freely all that has been entrusted to us.
Teach With All Your Heart
This past month, we focused solely on teaching the Nepali nationals the Lord has put before us. Bond was able to teach the books of Acts, 1 & 2 Kings, Exodus and Theology with our CCBC Nepal 
students this semester. In addition, the week of April 17 – 21 we were able to host pastors and our graduates who came from all over Nepal (some traveled 15 hours by bus) to reach Kathmandu for additional training in the Word. Bond and the other teachers were able to spend time teaching on the work of the Holy Spirit, 1 and 2 Timothy and Calvary Distinctives to further equip these men as they stand on the front lines. The days have been full of teaching this past month, but Bond always has such joy accompanied by a beaming smile that the Lord allows him to do what he passionate about.
Tuesday nights is set apart for our CCBC Nepal girl students, where the older women taught the younger women as in Titus 2. Even though we don’t feel older, we have the opportunity to teach the 
handful of college gals the Lord has entrusted to us. In a previous gathering with the girls, it was shared that they did not know what there gifts and talents were and therefore the worry is that when they graduate they won’t know how to be a blessing in their churches, families and villages. Heather had the honor of teaching on spiritual gifts and it was a sweet time as they began to recognize the unique calling and gifts they have been given. The young gal Angita who translated shared, “Thank you for letting me use my gift. I got to learn so many new things. I am thankful for the amazing Word. I am really encouraged by everything you shared”.
It still amazes us that Jesus took 12 disciples and imparted and taught the Gospel to them and they took the message to every corner of the world. To think that the same could happen here in Nepal is exciting!
Live It Out
Most of our students are in the classroom for 8 hours a day. We don’t just want them to have the knowledge, but we also want them to live out what they are learning. Mark 12:30-31 says, “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.”
This semester we have taken the students to serve at the leper colony, orphanage, medical camps, demolition sites to help earthquake victims and to various villages to share and practically love our neighbors.
Student outreach trip is always a highlight of the semester as the ministry is all student led. They learn dances, skits, sing, share testimonies and give a message and many for the first time have boldness to walk in all they have learned. This year, we traveled to an area about 5 hours outside the city where one of our CCBC Nepal graduates is now pastoring. We camped with our students at the location where there will soon be a home and church for Pastor Milan’s family and the community. It was great to see our students step up to love the people in various villages we visited and to do it in an area where a bible teaching church is established, which was a dream come true for us.
Easter was another opportunity to pass out invites in our community to our neighbors, shopkeepers and friends we have made in the area where the campus is located. Bond taught Saturday and Resurrection Sunday services. On Sunday, the sanctuary was packed full with overflow outside in the courtyard. Many college students and young people filled the hall to hear for the first time that Jesus died and rose again for each one of us. After service, CCBC Nepal students served a meal at no cost to all who attended Calvary Chapel Kathmandu that memorable day.
There Is No Place Like Home
We have a few more days in Nepal to complete our time here this winter / spring and head stateside later this week for a brief time before we head to Uganda for summer. Here are a few of the places we will be visiting this month. Hope to see some of you!
