Broadcasting the Good News

“Where in the world are Bond and Heather?” you might be wondering. It has been a different season for us, and the first time we are sending an update from both here and abroad. Bond is in Nepal and has been teaching and ministering there since early August. I am in So. California and have been working for the ministries that we partner with as well as caring for my dad (Bud) as he battles cancer. Last week, we received good news from the doctor that my dad is improving and the recent chemo treatment worked. There is still some leukemia remaining (less than 10%) and the doctor will monitor him on a monthly basis, but overall he is feeling good. Please continue to pray for Bud’s complete physical healing from the cancer and for emotional strength to move forward without my mom here. With this recent news and my dads blessing, I will be flying to India on October 10th and Bond will travel from Nepal to meet me there. We celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary this month and cannot wait to be reunited after two months apart. Serving the Lord together this fall in India never sounded so good!

Nepal Bible College is Official

Over the past few months, we have been in the process of gaining approval for the Nepal Bible College to become an extension campus of Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta. We are excited to announce that we received the official approval letter. This brings a level of credibility and enables us to have international students as well. It has been less than a year since the Lord purposed in our hearts to see an on-going work established in the capital city of Kathmandu that would continue year round even when we are in another location.  We are excited to be apart of this new work and we are thankful to those churches, families and individuals who have supported us along the way. Every month we wonder how all of the needs will be met, but then we look back at the faithfulness of the Lord to provide a location, translators, teachers, furniture, in-country workers and students we stand amazed.

The Next Generation

One of Bond’s passions in life is to raise up young men to be future leaders and pastors in their community. He has been meeting with several young men each week for a pastor’s symposium class. During the class, the men are able to ask any questions they want pertaining to the Word of God or life in general. In 1 Peter 2:9, it says “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” These young men have gifts from God that they have yet to utilize. The Holy Spirit is readying them for a great harvest in Nepal. Would you pray for them?

Bond was introduced to a Christian radio station owner in Nepal and after visiting the station he could not stop thinking of the potential of reaching the lost through a weekly radio program. One of Bond’s desires it to introduce

expository teaching through God’s Word here in Nepal to reach those who have never heard, but also to encourage the believers as well. This is a unique window of time where where we have an open door for Christian broadcasting, which has only been the case in recent years since Nepal became a secular nation. How cool would it be to not only invest in teaching the 25+ students who study at the Bible College campus each day, but to proclaim the Word to 80,000 Nepali people on a weekly basis. Thanks to donors who gave special gifts, we were able to purchase the recording equipment needed and look forward to seeing the fruit of this ministry that will begin in the near future.

Thank you for being apart of our journey and the ministry in Asia. It is through your prayers that we are strengthened spiritually, and it is through your financial partnership that God provides for our needs and the many ministries we are privileged to be part of. We are honored that you partner together with us as we touch lives together.

With Love From Nepal & USA,

Bond and Heather Gaona
