Set Your Mind On Things Above

Thank you, everyone, for your prayers. Despite Covid and school closures the Lord has been faithful to me and my family as we have continued in the ministry.

One big change and update in my life was on April 29th, 2021 when I got married! It was a difficult time as we faced lock-downs due to increased Covid cases. We couldn’t call all our friends and family to attend, and many couldn’t travel due to Covid. It was a small but beautiful ceremony. The Lord protected us from the virus despite it spreading so quickly in our region.

Now that we are married and festivities completed, we look forward to moving forward together in the ministry. My wife is the daughter of a pastor and grew up as a missionary kid travelling all over the country. She speaks three languages and has a similar upbringing as my own. She went to school for nursing and has worked the passed 3 years in a hospital in the northern part of the country. She resigned from that hospital when we were married as she’s now living here with me in the southern part of the country. We are waiting on the Lord to see where He’ll lead us and how He’ll use her nursing skills.

In the book of Proverbs 1:7 Solomon says, “The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Knowledge”. Solomon didn’t ask the Lord for wealth but for wisdom and the Lord provided for him. I am learning not to depend on earthly things but to set my mind on heavenly things. Colossions 3:1-2 says:

“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.”

There has been a lot of down time in our area due to Covid. We have faced strict lock-downs which do not allow us to go out or have people come in.

It has been a great time for me to study the Word and read many books. Some of the books I’ve been reading are “Hunger for Reality” by George Verwer; “The Great Commission Lifestyle” by Robert E. Coleman and “Absolute Surrender” by Andrew Murray. Its been very edifying and I’ve enjoyed the time to read.

Thank you for your continued prayers and financial support which allows us to focus on the Work the Lord has set before us! Please continue to pray for our country as we are suffering from severe new strains of Covid. Pray for our family to stay healthy. Pray for our students and staff as they are also waiting for school to reopen.

Blessings
