On August 5th a couple of girls who have served at the Mission held a fundraiser for a new wheelchair for Sela. They raised nearly $10,000 which is enough to not only pay for a very nice chair for Sela, but Eddie and Jena also will be able to get new chairs too.
Throughout the years we have cycled through many chairs for the kids, but they have never had absolutely brand new chairs made specifically for them. We have been grateful for the many people who have donated a wide variety of chairs and equipment for the kids. We have always had to “cannibalize” parts from other chairs to build chairs that only come near to what the kids need, often obvious by the assortment of different colored parts.
In the meantime, the man from Riverside California, who is going to build the chairs, brought some very nice used chairs down so that they will have a little more comfort while the specific chairs are being built.
All of this is the our Father in heaven answering many years worth of prayers for chairs for the kids. We want to sincerely express our gratitude and appreciation to everyone who has had a part in contributing to this aspect of the kid’s care. We will send out pictures when they arrive.
Thank you and God bless you all.
