Sarkar Update October

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” – Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV)

We stand amazed at all that God has prepared for us and now we get to watch as He reveals His perfect plan for our lives in Nepal.

A few weeks ago, the Lord placed it on our hearts to not only start a School of Worship, but to be part of starting a Bible College in Kathmandu. After a lot of prayer and several phone calls with our missions pastor, Brent Kaser, we began to look for a building that would be large enough for both schools. Pankaj talked to several of his pastor friends to make the need known and within a few days, we heard back from one of them. He told us that there were two buildings that were available to rent, but one in particular that he thought would be perfect for what we were looking for.

We went to see the building with completely open minds and quite honestly, neither one of us were expecting it to be exactly what we were looking for. Boy, were we wrong! The second we walked onto the compound, we looked at each other with amazement. It was beyond our expectations and imagination.

During the tour, we learned that this beautiful, 28-room, building had started out as a Bible College but due to lack of funding, it had to shut down. With each room we saw, God confirmed that this was the place we are supposed to start the schools.

A few days later, Pankaj met with the landlord to get some more information on the building. We found out that the landlord is a pastor and wants the building to be used for ministry purposes since that is what it was originally built for. He said that he has had two offers from other places but he wants us to rent it! The landlord also told Pankaj how he is very familiar with Calvary Chapel and how he loves the teaching and theology. He was given some of Pastor Chuck’s teachings several years ago and he still uses them as study tools. He had even received personal, monthly support from a Calvary Chapel when he first started his ministry, 10-years ago!

We were so excited to see how the Lord had been setting everything up 10-years before any of this was even on our minds! How amazing is our God! He is the Alpha and Omega, our Jahovah-Nissi. He is our Jahovah-Jireh, our El Shaddai – He is worthy to be praised!

After Pankaj came back from the meeting, I could not wait to send an update to Pastor Brent about all that God had been doing. I sent him a short video-tour of the compound as well as a detailed email with all that was discussed at the meeting. The next day, Pastor Brent asked for me to call him. He shared the video with our senior pastor and several other pastors at our church and everyone was super excited to see it. From there, he started talking to the church and mission boards. He also sent Pastor Scott Cunningham and Pastor Brian Brodersen, at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, all of the information. To make a long story a little shorter: We were blessed to hear that Calvary Chapel WestGrove and Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa have committed to help underwrite the cost of the monthly rent for the building for the 2014 calendar year!!

This is where we would like to reach out to each of you reading this update. In planting this new work, there are additional needs with regards to monthly operational costs and initial set up costs that still need to be met. We would like to ask you to prayerfully consider partnering with us to help get these schools up and running by early 2014. Classes are scheduled to begin for the School of Worship and Bible College by March 2014 – God willing.

IMG_4962Please pray about how you can be a part of this amazing responsibility God has placed in front of us.  If you would like to make a one-time donation or to become a monthly supporter of the schools, please visit the School of Worship – Kathmandu website by clicking HERE. **Please note this is a completely separate account from our personal support at Saving Grace World Missions.** All donations are tax-deductible and will be used to help teach, disciple, and train the people of Nepal and it’s neighboring countries.

In addition to financial needs, we are also in need of short-term and long-term teams and/or missionaries to come and help teach at both of the schools.

If you would like more information about coming to teach at the schools or would like a financial breakdown of what is needed for start up and monthly operational costs, please email us at: sarkar@sgwm.com. We would love to pray with you and give you more information about how you can get involved.
