God knew (of course)… I should say, God started making plans a year ago knowing precisely when our DIF inspection would finally come. A year ago Bandon Christian Fellowship made reservations for their high school group. The day they showed up we received notice that DIF was coming at 10:00 the next day for the inspection.

Throughout the last year and a half we knew that this day was coming. Although we had lots of significant help from various groups for specific major projects there were always a multitude of little things we were always hoping we could pick away at, but never really could find enough time. Twenty-five people came with the Bandon group, and in two hours we got everything done that had bugging me for two years. Sure, it would have been nice to have it done earlier to have the place looking nicer and have the peace of mind, but God was making a point. He’s the one who makes sure things get done when they need to be, and no sooner than when they have to be done.

In my faulty reasoning it is irresponsible to leave things for the last second. But for as much as we were praying, wishing, or willing we could get more done, God was not fretting in heaven, saying, “Oh, no!” He apparently prevents us from accomplishing more so that He can demonstrate His superior designs and orchestrations. If we had it our way we would have been saying, “Yep, ‘WE’ got it done.” But now we can’t take any credit for it. We can only say, “HE got it done.” And all praise, honor, and glory be to God Almighty, for He alone is worthy.

Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into this or that town and spend a year there and do business and make a profit.”

You ought to say instead, “If the Lord is willing, then we will live and do this or that.”

James 4:13 & 15

We keep praying for more staff. Our Father has been answering that prayer. There are staff girls who are coming. We still have a need for staff guys. But this we now know; if He answers our prayers and sends us staff, it is for His glory, and, if He answers our prayers with a no and doesn’t send more workers it will be also be for His glory. Now we know that we just need to wait and be looking for what amazing way He’s going to reveal His great designs.
