Join in the Work

July was one of our busiest months! July 12th marked our one-year anniversary as missionaries, July 14th Aaron was ordained as a pastor, July 19th was our sixteen-year wedding anniversary, and we ended July with a bang as we celebrated Isaiah’s 8th birthday on July 31st! In-between all those personal mile markers, ministry was happening as Regeneration kicked off its opening night on July 11th.

Regeneration is a weekly recovery ministry taking place every Thursday night at Calvary Chapel Napa. This program involves a lot of community outreach. Each week Aaron has been taking the church van out to local apartment complexes, spending time at the shelter, or going door to door in some tougher neighborhoods extending a personal invitation to individuals and families that may need help with alcohol or drug recovery. We are also reaching out by offering dinner and goodies that are generously being donated by a local bakery each week to those that attend.

This past week Aaron has been down in Monterey receiving some intensive training on the second program that will be launching in late fall/ early winter here in Napa. This ministry is called The Bridge Napa. The Bridge is a one-year live-in discipleship/work-based program aimed at helping people to be free from addiction by allowing Christ to change their life from the inside out. This program was founded in Monterey and is a ministry of Calvary Chapel Monterey. It has been in operation for the past 15 years. Aaron will be one of two Pastors overseeing this program. He will be a part of running daily operations, Bible studies, intake processing, and providing support for the house manager and the men living in the house. The program is designed to have a lot of community service opportunities in order to be positively connected and involved in the local community. There are prayers to open a women’s house, as well, in the near future. To find out more about The Bridge you can visit www.tbrm.org

Our lives as missionaries have been unpredictable to us but perfectly laid out to God. After praying for so long for direction in ministry it is exciting to see things begin to take shape. God’s plans are amazing and far beyond our understanding. Aaron’s niche in law enforcement was drugs. He had a real knack for finding people that were up to no good and more often than not drugs and/or alcohol were involved in those contexts. The people that Aaron spent 16 years chasing down to bring to justice, he is now chasing down to bring the hope and restoration that is available through Christ. Over the years, during his career in law enforcement, he was able to build a wide range of community connections and God is using many of those connections in a tremendous way to make inroads for The Bridge and Regeneration to be a resource for Napa.  This month we want to ask that you would prayerfully consider supporting us financially. As wonderful as it is to be back serving as missionaries in our home community, it is much more expensive than Mexico! Right now, we are about 30% funded as missionaries here in Napa. Aaron is not on staff at the church, his position is that of a missionary pastor, which is great because he is able to dedicate all of his time and attention to serving the Lord through The Bridge and Regeneration.

The battle for souls is underway here in Napa and it is not the job of a select few but the job of the church as a whole to fulfill the great commission of making disciples of all nations…including ours. When you support us, you are sharing in the work to let people know that Jesus can transform lives. We are asking you not to just support “our ministry” because this isn’t “our ministry” this is God’s ministry. We are asking you to be engaged in what God is doing here in Napa. Your partnership allows us to continue to serve full-time (and beyond) on God’s mission. Financial support raising is probably the most dreaded task a missionary faces! So, thank you for considering partnering with us in the work God is doing. You can find ways to donate by visiting www.sgwm.com/mosley and clicking on “Become a Financial Partner” or you can find the same button at the bottom of this email. We do want to give a BIG “thank you” to those of you who have been financially supporting us this past year. You are making a difference and it is an honor to be serving with you in ministry.

1 Corinthians 3:7-9 “It is not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow. The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work. For we are both God’s workers.”

We understand that not everyone can join in the work financially but here’s how you can join in the work by praying for us this month:

  1. Pray for God to open up many doors to minister to those that are addicted to drugs and alcohol. Especially pray for the contacts that Aaron makes each week with people on the streets that their hearts would be open to the Lord.
  2. Pray for both ministries: The Bridge and Regeneration, that they would have a great impact in our community and for God’s kingdom.
  3. Pray for our family as we find a new normal in full-time ministry. We are finding out ministry is not a 9-5 job! Its everyday and all hours.
  4. Join with us in prayer as we seek the best options for schooling the kids this coming fall.

Thank you all for your love and support.
Until next month!
