The ministry in Soroti, Uganda is moving at warp speed. In the first two weeks of October 2013 we have seen the hospital equipment arrive, the hospital furniture purchased, delivered and in place, The Calvary Chapel Soroti land purchase completed, the foundation for the church and security fence begun and the church tent that will accommodate 100 worshipers purchased and on site. We expect that by the end of October the church will be ready for opening as will the outpatient services building at the hospital. As Mary and I have said before, because of God’s work here the people of Soroti, Uganda will be blessed spiritually and physically for years to come. Please enjoy some of the photos we have taken this week.
In this picture, Dr. Juventine (center) with Calvary Chapel Soroti worship leader Robbins (left) and on the right is the Dr.’s brother Sam. All examining the new church property with the hospital in the back ground.
In another exciting development, the hospital operating room facility construction has begun with the completion of the foundation. We are praying that God will deliver the remaining $25,000 needed to finishthe work.
Above, Dr. Juventine, Sam and Mary measure out the rooms which will make up the operating theatre. The completion of this facility will allow women who need a C-Section to be treated at the hospital and not have to be transferred to the government hospital where many women have had to deliver their babies on the floor of the facility.
A “BIG” Thank you to the women of the Prayer Shawl Ministry at First Christian Church in Huntington Beach, California who have agreed to crochet and knit baby caps for all the babies born at the Bethesda Hospital Soroti. The first 15 arrived today and will be ready for our first deliveries.
Finally, Mary and I are busy packing for our return to the U.S. November 10, 2013. We look forward to seeing all of you when we return.
