Hard to Go

Hard to Go

“The Spirit also helps in our weaknesses.  For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”  Romans 8:26

I can honestly say I did not feel ready to come stateside with the boys. God is moving so much and I didn’t want to miss a second of it. Being able to help all the Calvary’s unite through the children’s ministry was an amazing blessing! One of my missionary friends was sharing that she hopes it doesn’t all fall apart while I’m gone. That brought me to my knees. As I prayed, God reminded me once again, that He doesn’t need us and His work continues even when we are away. The Holy Spirit does the work and we are just blessed to be part of it. While stateside I get to continue listening to the trainings on the Calvary Curriculum website each week and translate them into Ugandan English. I email the training to the Children’s Ministry leaders and they go over it at their weekly meeting. I look forward to seeing all the Holy Spirit will do through the precious new servants and children of God!

It is also especially hard for us to be away from Vincent and all our Ugandan children/siblings and friends that live with us. Our Ugandan God-made family! This is when we also see the Holy Spirit work through what is hard for us to pray and put into human words. Comfort, strength, teaching, interceding, our God has everything we need for every season of our life! We appreciate your prayers for us especially in this time!

His Saving Grace

“God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

Vincent shared with me that the mother of the Muslim man trying to kick all of us off our land has gotten saved! She has been meeting privately with Vincent for some time getting prayers for health issues. He has been able to help her and pray for her.  She shared with Vincent about a blanket she burned because it was itching her and people told her it was from under water (meaning witchcraft). Vincent was able to share with her that most likely it is possible she just might be allergic to the fabric. This is the only one of the stories I can share that God used to start softening her heart. All I can share more is that God turns lies into truth and hate into love! This last Sunday, as she was at our compound, she accepted Christ! She is looking forward to going to church and learning more about God. Please be praying for her! Her family members are more on the extreme side compared to other local Muslims. Please also pray for her health! God is so good!  Sorry for no photo of her at this time.

Praise Reports

  • Finished the first of my series of doctor’s appointments. Excited to share that it is my bladder that has fallen and not my uterus! We are still waiting for insurance to approve the blood work to check for markers for ovarian cancer. If this bloodwork comes back ok I will not need surgery! We may even be able to have one last baby! I have remaining appointments with the allergist to see if there is any way to help my severe and growing allergies causing my throat to swell often and results from the dermatologist.  Zachary started school and his therapies.  He will have his IEP around January. All of this will determine when we can head back home to Uganda.
  • We traveled safely! Our car protected us and Vincent made it back to Midigo and started teaching right away. Our trip to Ireland was successful and amazing! Blessed to spend time with the Clancy’s who were some of the first missionaries to encourage me and have continued praying for us all these years. There are some medical students praying to come and visit us in Midigo and a bookstore that said they can donate as many books as the students can carry for the community library! Praying God continues to lead the way! The boys did amazing on all the flights and travels. They adjusted to American time and culture almost instantly, although Ian’s accent stands strong.

Prayer Requests

  • Please pray as we finalize the last type of land tile this coming month. We are hoping to start leveling the land and building soon.
  • Please continue to pray for the Football/Soccer team.
  • Pray for the team from Calvary Chapel West Grove going to Midigo this coming month.
  • Please continue to pray for Chandiru. The young Muslim girl we have been helping with the mass in her cheek. It is cancer but we are taking her for treatment regularly. Please pray God will continue to provide for her treatment and that God can use this hard time to save her and her family.
  • Please also pray God opens doors to share while we are here and give Vincent strength through the crazy schedule and all the needs in Midigo. Please continue to pray for us while we are apart. We are all missing each other terribly already!
