During the aftermath of the earthquakes in Nepal, our co-workers have gone through a trying time but the Lord has strengthened them. Bond and I see how being stateside during the past few days has enabled us to assist in sending a team of pastors and emergency responders into the devastated areas. The team leaves for Nepal with supplies and funds over the next few days. The goal is to meet immediate needs, assisting in the recovery efforts, minister comfort and the Gospel and put plans in place for the future efforts of recovery for the months / years to come.
The Khokana area is 3 miles away from our campus in Nepal. The man is searching through the remains of his home for whatever he can still use. He and his family survived the earthquake but have now lost everything. Many of our students are in similar situations as their families and villages have been greatly effected by this tragedy.
Please be praying for the team, that the areas of greatest need would be identified and that the love of Christ would shine brightly to the people of Nepal who are hurting and in great need both physically and spiritually. You can also get involved by providing funds for supplies at www.sgwm.com or www.promisechild.org.
