Vincent Family April 2021 Missions Update

Greetings from Mexico,

Everyone loves a good story, especially when it’s true! In this update, I am happy to share an amazing story with you of a changed life that only Jesus can do! My friend Eddie first showed up at our church 12 years ago. With a knife in hand, he was stalking a guy that attended our church from time to time that had stolen from him, with plans to murder him after the service.

This was nothing new to Eddie. He had been in more deadly gang fights than you could imagine, and the very fact that he had survived 8 gunshots and a lifetime deportation was a miracle. But as Eddie sat in our church service, fiddling with the knife in his pocket, something miraculous began to happen. He began to listen to my sermon, and at the end of the service, he threw the knife in the trash, and professed faith in Jesus Christ for the first time in his life!

Over the next few years, Eddie brought his live in girlfriend to church and they both were saved, then baptized! Eddie even proposed to his girlfriend in our church sanctuary, which led to an amazing wedding celebration and then a few children as well!

Eddie eventually became one of my good friends, and I would talk with him from time to time about church planting. You see, Eddie doesn’t only have the gift of gab, but the biggest smile I had ever seen, and a magnetic personality. Three years ago, Eddie entered our church planting school, and he began the class with (how can I say this) much room for improvement.

But as Eddie worked on his preaching and leadership skills, God began to put the Rosarito dump and the poor families that live there on his heart! Two and a half years ago, Eddie began a weekly Bible study in the dump and the small neighboring community called Homex.

Over time God made things crystal clear, He was raising up a church in this devastated community, and He was calling Eddie to be their pastor and church planter. Fast forward 3 years, and at the end of March, I had the privilege and honor of ordaining Eddie and sending out his family and missions team as our church’s 27th church plant!

The community of Homex is one of the poorest and most dangerous communities I have ever visited. Located just 30 minutes from Rosarito, it seems to be a world away because of the crime and hopelessness of the people living there. Yet this is exactly the place where God has called us to plant our newest church!

Eddie and his gifted wife Jeanette, have started a feeding kitchen for the children, and they have rented a small house where they host their weekly church services. They have worked hard to raise up some local leaders, and they pick up a group of people from the Rosarito dump (15 minute walk away) that are also committed to join up with this new church!

I have had the privilege and honor of joining the team quite a few times, and this is a very fruitful ministry! Only God could take a man that had murder on his mind, and transform him into a Pastor and church planter. Please keep this new church plant of Homex in your prayers, and if you’re interested in visiting or supporting them, please let me know!

Finally, I want to once again thank you for your faithful partnership with us as your missionaries here in Mexico. It is through your prayers that God meets our spiritual needs, and through your financial giving that God meets our physical needs! And it’s an honor and a privilege to share with you in this fruitful work!

Con mucho amor de Mexico,  (with much love from Mexico)

Mike, Sarah, Grace, and Daniel

Vincent Family March 2021 Missions Update

Greetings from Mexico,

I hope this update finds you and your family healthy and blessed! In this update, I wanted to do a special THROWBACK EDITION! As we approach our 19th year of serving as missionaries here in Mexico, I wanted to take a trip down memory lane with you and glance back and give thanks for all of the great things God has done!

We were sent out from Calvary Chapel Saving Grace in Yorba Linda, California back in June of 2002.  At that time, Grace had turned 2 years old, and Daniel was less than one month old! (I have often laughingly told our church planters, I don’t recommend church planting with two babies two or under!) Our welcome to Mexico was having our vehicle stolen from the front of our double wide mobile home. From the beginning, it was obvious that the devil didn’t want us here.

After 6 months, our small home fellowship meeting in a living room in a house up on the hill had grown to 12 adults, and it was time to look for a little storefront to rent. Our first rented sanctuary had room for only 20 chairs, and we loved it!  We were so blessed to have two small rooms to gather in, a small sanctuary and packed out children’s ministry which was led by Sarah every Sunday!

Little by little God added new believers to the church, and after 2 years in our small facility, we made the move to the church on the hill. What a blessing it was to spend 7 years on that hill and see the Great things that our Lord wanted to do.

It was during that time that God began to stir my heart about church planting, and we started up our church planting program! And it was in that facility, that we were able to send out our first three church plants! It was also during those foundational years that God began to bring strategic church partners and called men and women to partner with us in this great work!

After 7 years in the wonderful facility on the hill, God called our church to move one final (I hope) time in 2012. At the perfect time, God opened up a large factory off of the famed Rosarito toll road, which has become our church home for the past 9 years!

What a blessing it is to reflect on all that God has done. The baby dedications and the weddings and the baptisms, and changed lives! God transforming our local church to be a sending hub of church planting to the nations. God’s promises are true, and He has truly done “more than we could ever ask or imagine” (Ephesians 3:20)

Over the years, I have come to realize that the ministry constantly changes.  The people change, the facilities change, the challenges change, but there is one thing that never changes, and that is God and His faithfulness. In fact, if I had to whittle the past nearly two decades of ministry down to just one phrase it would be this, “God has been faithful!” The Bible puts it this way in 2 Timothy 2:13,  “Even when we are faithless, He is faithful!”  Even when our faith has faded, God has remained faithful every step of the way!

Another key part of our ministry has been you, our precious ministry partners! You too have been faithful every step of the way through this long journey. And it’s been through your faithful prayers and financial support that we have been able to remain here in Mexico as your missionaries over the past 18+ years!

I want to finish up this “Vincent Throw back edition” update by saying, thank you Lord for your faithfulness, and THANK YOU to you, our faithful ministry partners!

Con mucho amor de Mexico,  (with much love from Mexico)

Mike, Sarah, Grace, and Daniel

Prayer Requests!

#1-  That God would keep our family, church, and community safe in these difficult times!

#2-  That God would bless our new church plant we are launching to the Rosarito dump in March! (Called Homex)

Praise Reports!

#1- Praise God that the people of our church have been healthy, and are returning to the fellowship!

#2- Praise God that we had 40 students enrolled in our church’s church planting program!

Vincent Family February 2021 Missions Update

Greetings from Mexico,

I hope this update finds you and your family healthy and blessed! This past month I had another birthday and I am feeling old! The older I get, the more the Lord reminds me of the importance of raising up the next generation!

In his final letter, the apostle Paul reminded Timothy of the importance of raising up the next generation to do the work of the ministry. Paul put it this way in 2 Timothy 2:2,  “And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”

One of the reasons I started our church’s live-in internship program 12 years ago was to raise up the next generation of young men to be servant leaders, pastors, and church planters. In this update, I wanted to tell you the story of three of the young men in their 20’s that He is raising up in our church!

I first met my friend Abraham Gonzalez when he professed faith and was baptized as a college student at our church. After serving faithfully, Abraham took a leap of faith, quit his job, and moved into our on-site intern apartment to train up for the ministry!

Over the past 3 years, Abraham has completed our two-year church planting program, served as a leader in our young adults group, and become one of my main translators. If you have watched our live-stream teachings, Abraham is the young man that is often translating by my side on Sundays! While Abraham serves faithfully at the church he waits for the Lord’s timing and location for a future church plant.

Samuel (Sammy) Alderete has attended our church with our family for the past 5 years. After graduating from Calvary Chapel Bible College in Ensenada, Sammy felt the call to church plant. Last year, Sammy joined up with our church staff as an intern and began our church planting program! Samuel has excelled in everything he has done and is a quick learner.

Sammy is also a key part of our new media ministry (fully staffed by young adults) that works hard to transmit our live services online each Sunday at 9am and Wednesday’s at 6:30pm. Samuel also serves as one of our main English translators that translates from the pulpit when our Spanish speaking Pastors are teaching! After just over a year, Samuel has heard the call and he believes that the Lord is calling him to plant a church in the Los Angeles area of the United States!

Oliver, his wife Rosa and their son joined our church staff two years ago after graduating from a Bible School in La Paz where he served at our church plant there. Oliver has served in a variety of ministries at our church. These ministries include translating for me on Wednesday evenings, teaching in our Bible school, and translating the text of my sermons into Spanish so they can be sent to our church planters.

Recently, Oliver took over as our church’s children’s ministry director. This is a large job as on an average (non-covid) weekend, we have around 300 children under the age of 12 in attendance. As a graduate of our church planting program, Oliver and his family recently took a church planting vision tour to his hometown of Colima! (A city of over 1 million located on the western coast of Central Mexico.) Please pray for God to reveal his perfect timing for this precious family to be sent out to church plant!

All three of these men are not only excellent translators but great Bible teachers in their own right. I am giving each one of these young men the opportunity to teach a Wednesday (mid-week) Bible study over the next three months. If you would like to hear them teach, feel free to join us for our livestream service streamed live on YOUTUBE or on our church’s facebook page!

I also wanted to share a quick update on our son Daniel. After a month Daniel tested negative for the coronavirus and was able to move back home. We are thankful that Daniel’s symptoms were mild and he has made a complete recovery! Thank you for your prayers, and we continue to pray for those of you that have had your families affected and devastated by this horrific virus.

Finally, we feel honored and blessed that you have chosen to partner with us as your missionaries in these difficult times. Thank you so much for your prayers and financial giving which allows us to serve full-time here in the mission field of Mexico!

Con mucho amor de Mexico,  (with much love from Mexico)

Mike, Sarah, Grace, and Daniel

Prayer Requests!

#1-  That God would lead these three young men in their service to the Lord and future church plants!

#2-  That God would bless our new batch of church planters beginning classes in February!

Praise Reports!

#1- Praise God that our son Daniel healed quickly and completely from Covid!

#2- Praise God that our brand new church plant in Loreto already found a new building and has been given free rent for a year!

Vincent Family January 2021 Update

Greetings from Mexico,

I hope this update finds you and your family healthy and blessed! This past month was a difficult month for many people, with COVID hitting hard all over the world! And this month the pandemic hit close to home with our family and church!

At the start of December, I was preaching at our church at our evening Bible study, when I was told the police were waiting outside. After the service, they entered our patio and closed the church down and threatened us with a fine! Even though a new law had unjustly targeted church’s and work out gym’s by the government, (leaving open the bars, casino’s and strip clubs) we decided to comply with the threat and close our church doors.

Our church is blessed to have a large parking lot, which enabled us to host another one of our outside “Car Church” services! Miraculously, after just 7 days the state legislature overturned this unjust law, and with government permission in hand, we were blessed to re-open our church with safety measures in place after just 7 days of closing.

On the home front, our family finally encountered what so many others have faced, and our son Daniel got sick and then tested positive for covid. Even though Sarah, Grace, and I felt fine, with dread in our hearts we traveled to get tested the following day. Thankfully, our three tests came out negative, so our son Daniel moved alone into a local friends beach house to quarantine through the holidays.

Over the past three weeks, we have been making twice daily trips (with masks) to visit Daniel and bring him food. We are able to chat with him through the screen door, and we brought him our big white puppy YUKI to live with him and keep him company! Thankfully, Daniel’s symptoms never got very serious, even though he retested after 20 days and was still testing positive. It was sad to have a separated Christmas and have to social distance from our precious son, but we understood that we were facing what millions of other’s have faced throughout this difficult past year. Please pray that Daniel’s quarantine will end soon, and he will be able to move back home.

One big blessing in the church was finishing up our year with another church plant (our forth church plant of the year). Our church family was blessed to send out our good friends and church staffers, Elmer and Crystal Cardenas to plant a church in a city called Loreto.

Loreto is located 2/3rds of the way down the beautiful Baja peninsula, and is famous for it’s fishing businesses in the gulf and it’s pristine beaches with clear water! We sent out two other couples and a staffer to join in this new work, so please keep them in your prayers!

Finally, we feel honored and blessed that you have chosen to partner with us as your missionaries in these difficult times. It’s through your prayers that God provides for our spiritual needs and through your financial support that God provides for our physical needs. THANK YOU!

Con mucho amor de Mexico,  (with much love from Mexico)

Mike, Sarah, Grace, and Daniel

Prayer Requests!

#1-  That God would heal our son Daniel (and the many others affected) of the Corona Virus.

#2-  That God would bless our newest church plant Calvary Chapel Loreto!

Praise Reports!

#1- Praise God that we were able to send out our 26th church plant in December!

#2- Praise God for the healthy re-opening of our church after being shut down by the local police.

Vincent Family November Update 2020

Greetings from Mexico,

I hope this update finds you and your family healthy and blessed! This past month, our church was blessed to host the national Pastors and leaders conference for Mexico. We had 100’s of friends fly in from all over Mexico along with the local ministries and churches and the conference was amazing!

The title of the conference was “The Message from Paul to the Ephesian Elders.” The Biblical text was taken from Paul’s message to the Ephesian elders found in the 2nd half of Acts chapter 20. Each one of the main sessions covered one major theme from Paul’s farewell address.

I was blessed to teach on the Importance of Preaching Repentance to Both Believers and Unbelievers. My Bible text was Acts 20:21, “testifying to Jews, and also to Greeks, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” In this teaching, I reminded the attenders of the importance of believers repenting and confessing their sins so their hearts and minds can be cleansed.

I also challenged each church in attendance to continually give a clear Gospel invitation at each service so the unbelieving guests in their church can respond in repentance and faith to the message of Jesus and receive the gift of salvation! Our church has given an invitation at every service from the very beginning in 2002, and we have seen God bless that immensely!

Personally, I was blessed by the other teachings in the conference which included my local friends, Pastors Chris Martinez of Tijuana and Juan Domingo of Horizonte Ensenada. Pastor Juan is my unofficial mentor, as he was the first gringo Missionary from the Calvary Chapel movement to move to Mexico to church plant over 40 years ago. Since Pastor Juan lives just south of us in Ensenada, he has continually offered me encouragement and counseling, especially in regards to our church planting endeavors.

One of the blessings of having a large and beautiful church campus is it allows us to freely share our facility with our friends around Mexico and beyond by hosting large national conferences. These free conferences offer both child care and meals, and are always a great blessing to everyone in attendance. It’s also fun for me to see how our church staff serves willingly and with a smile. I also want to thank you, our generous supporters who have partnered with our family and ministry so that now together we can be a blessing beyond our local borders.

On the church side of things, we did have a coronavirus scare with several of our friends contracting the virus. (Thankfully, no one in our family contracted it) Unfortunately, we had to do a temporary re-shut down of the church to keep everyone safe. During that time, we installed a large AIR SCRUBBING machine for our church’s AC/heating system!  Thankfully in the past month since we re-opened, we haven’t had any new cases of the virus in our church or on our staff, and little by little people continue to return to the church!

On a more positive church note, we were able to bring back baptisms in October for the first time since the pandemic! We weren’t sure what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised as 13 new believers made the decision to publically identify with Jesus Christ through the waters of baptism. Each one of these baby believers are so precious to our Lord Jesus, and it was fantastic to see our church family spontaneously break out into applause as each one exited the baptismal waters!

Finally, we feel honored and blessed that you have chosen to partner with us as your missionaries in these difficult times. It’s through your financial support that God provides for our physical needs, and through your prayers that God provides our spiritual needs. THANK YOU!

Con mucho amor de Mexico,  (with much love from Mexico)

Mike, Sarah, Grace, and Daniel

Prayer Requests!

#1-  That God would keep our family, church, and city from this horrible Corona Virus.

#2-  That God would bless our upcoming Holiday and Christmas outreach events!

Praise Reports!

#1- Praise God that we were able to host the national pastors and leader’s conference.

#2- Praise God for the healthy re-opening of our church after a minor corona virus scare!

Vincent Family October 2020 Missions Update

Greetings from Mexico,

I hope this update finds you and your family healthy and blessed! In our updates, you usually get a generous dose of what is going on in the church and ministry, and even my life (Mike) personally. But in this update, I am excited to focus on the rest (and better part) of my family, to give you an update on what the family is up to.

Throughout our 18 plus years of service here in Mexico, I couldn’t have done a thing without my amazing and virtuous wife, Sarah. Sarah isn’t only my partner in ministry, but my best friend and a key part of everything God has done here over the years.

Presently, Sarah is teaching Spanish to American homeschool families two days a week. This unique job connects Sarah’s love for the Spanish language along with her love for children. (You may not know that Sarah is a credentialed California teacher, who taught Kindergarten in the California public school system for our first three years of marriage!)

With the coronavirus affecting everything we do, this year Sarah’s teaching load has doubled. Not only is she offering live classes with social distancing up in Orange County, she is also doing ZOOM online classes. This adjustment has not been easy for Sarah or her students. It has been a blessing for me to witness the zoom meetings and hear these youngsters excelling in their Spanish. Please keep my favorite school teacher Sarah and her Spanish classes in your prayers.

My daughter Grace is now 20 years old and she has been staying busy finishing up her AA through the local San Diego Community College. Grace is and always has been diligent and self-motivated in her college studies, and continues to get straight A’s in her classes. (I guess she takes after her mother in that!) Grace is still deciding what her college major will be, but I know that wherever the Lord directs her, she’s going to work hard and excel.

On the church side of things, Grace enjoys spending time with her friends in our church’s young adult group Agamos! (Greek word that means “unmarried” ) She also assists me in my live preaching by being my faithful media assistant. In this important position, Grace is in charge of putting the worship slides and sermon notes up on the video screens for the services. This job has taken on added significance as much of our congregation is now tuning in online for our services. I am very thankful that God has given me a quiet, godly daughter that has brought much joy to my life.

My son Daniel just graduated from high school and also turned 18! After I jokingly posted online that he was looking for a car (while standing in front of two old junkers) a ministry partner donated their used Cadillac. I have never seen a young man more excited than Daniel was to receive this 23 year old car that was still in great condition. Daniel has now become the main errand boy in the house, as he looks for each and every opportunity to go out and take his new car for a drive.

Daniel is very focused on his basketball and he has progressed to the point where his old man can’t keep up with him anymore. This summer he tried out for and made the local youth all star team, and he has even traveled to different Mexican states with his team to compete in tournaments. As the only gringo (white guy) on the team, his opponents are amazed to see this white boy that speaks perfect Spanish. Of course they aren’t aware that Daniel has lived in Mexico since he was 2 weeks old.

Daniel is also active in ministry at the church. He leads a weekly discipleship group on ZOOM where he disciples a couple of the freshmen boys in our church youth group. Daniel also helps lead worship three times a week at the church in our men’s study, youth study, and on our main worship team. A special blessing for me was having Daniel lead worship with me on the keyboard during three of our services in September.

I am so blessed to have a family that loves Jesus and serves with me in the great work that God is doing here. We feel honored and blessed that you have chosen to partner with us through your prayers and finances which allow us to serve full time with you in the ripe mission fields of Mexico! THANK YOU!

Con mucho amor de Mexico, (with much love from Mexico)
Mike, Sarah, Grace, and Daniel

Prayer Requests!

1- That God would provide for our family’s needs, and raise up 3 new financial partners to cover our friends that are no longer able to continue!

2- That God would bless Grace as she prays about her next steps in schooling. (Her major and her new college)

3- That God would bless and strengthen Sarah in her online and live Spanish classes!

Praise Reports!

1- Praise God that He has kept our family safe from the coronavirus.

2- Praise God for our new batch of church planters who are studying and preparing to be sent out to church plant in the future!

Vincent Family September 2020 Missions Update

Greetings from Mexico,

This past month our church was blessed to host our 6th annual international church planting conference! Even though things have been crazy with the corona virus, we decided to step out in faith and have this conference live, with safe and social distancing practices in place. As we prepared for the conference, we had no idea how the attendance would be, but we were pleasantly surprised as over 350 people joined us live!

The title of this conference was, “God’s Plan for Missions,” and our main theme was to encourage those in attendance to see God’s plan to use local church plants to reach the world with the saving message of the Gospel. We had friends fly in from as far away as Florida in the USA, and Oaxaca (south Mexico)! Each person in attendance came with a heart prepared to hear from the Lord in regards to their place in church planting!

We had seven gifted speakers that shared at our main sessions. From the USA we had our church planters Aaron Smith (Punta Gorda Florida) and Donnie Aldana (Waddell Arizona) along with our church planting partners Phil Metzgar (San Diego by way of Hungary) and  Danny Hodges with over 35 years of pastoring experience in Saint Petersburg Florida! From Mexico we had our planters Hugo Limon (Culiacan) and Tony Carranza (Mazatlan) and I got to share as well! Each teaching was well prepared, related to church planters, and creatively applied to the audience.

A special blessing of this conference was our breakout session workshops. We had 15 workshops with a wide variety of topics for our attenders to choose from. Many of my friends joined us with amazing workshops including Pastors David Zamora, Greg Seymour, and my own pastor Trent Douglass from our sending church, Calvary Chapel Saving Grace.

Without a doubt, the most popular breakout sessions were our three ladies workshops taught by ladies, for ladies. I snuck into the workshop my wife Sarah was teaching along with our pastor’s wife (Debbie Douglass) and they knocked it out of the park. The ladies in attendance were so encouraged and blessed and reminded of the important part that they have in church planting!

The conference ended with a bang as we attempted something that we had never done before. We sent out a church plant together with our friends and guests at the end of the conference. What a blessing it was for each person in attendance to witness a church plant being sent out!

Although all of our 24 previous church plants have been a huge blessing, this particular church plant was special. Over the years, we have been honored to plant 24 churches in Mexico and the USA, but this plant was sent out to Guatemala. We sent out two brothers (Geovanni and Jonathan Loarca) and their families to plant in the largest city in Central America, Guatemala City!

These brothers are highly skilled bible teachers and both of them completed our two year church planting program. Geovanni who will be the Senior Pastor of the church plant, served as an intern living at the church and on our full time staff for the past 2 years.  I believe that this church plant is going to help us reach Central American and beyond. Please keep them in your prayers!

Finally, I want to thank each one of you who partner with us in the ministry! It is through your prayers that God meets our spiritual needs, and through your financial partnership that God meets our physical needs. Please know that we are extremely thankful for your partnership, and we pray often for you! THANK YOU!

Con mucho amor de Mexico,  (with much love from Mexico)

Mike, Sarah, Grace, and Daniel

Prayer Requests!

#1-  That God would provide for our family’s needs, and raise up 3 new financial partners to cover our friends that are no longer able to continue!

#2-  That God would bless our new church planters as they move to Guatemala!

#3- That God would help our congregation safely return to the church!

Praise Reports!

#1- Praise God for our 25th church plant to Guatemala!

Vincent Family August 2020 Missions Update

Greetings from Mexico,

Isn’t the world we live in strange? How many of us could have ever guessed we would be facing this pandemic that has come crashing into all of our lives? The world is changing day by day, but God remains on His throne and God’s calling for Christians and missionaries and the church remains unchanged. We are to reach people with the love of Jesus!

This past month, we have been blessed to have our congregation returning as we practice safe social distancing services. Even though our attendance has been much smaller (currently around 50%) we have been once again seeing weekly professions of faith. A special highlight was having the privilege of baptizing 12 new believers at our church’s July baptism. We hadn’t had baptisms in 5 months, and it was amazing to get back to it, although baptizing people with a mask on was a new experience!

To help us adjust to the new normal of church online, we were blessed to finish our church’s new recording studio! This 2nd story sanctuary addition serves two purposes.

#1- Our studio is being used for special bible studies, announcements, and our new “Today’s Good News” 5-minute daily devotional series available to view on our Youtube Channel!

#2- Our new studio is where our video team live-streams our services.

Even though finances were tight, our church was able to invest in new cameras and a new audio and video setup, all in an effort to help our viewers enjoy a better live-stream experience. If you ever want to tune in, we are streaming our main services on Facebook live and Youtube on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm and Sunday mornings at 9 am!

In July, I was blessed to teach at two missions schools that stepped out in faith and decided to continue even with the pandemic. First off, my sending church (Calvary Chapel Saving Grace) has their Missions school down here this summer. These 15 students are on fire, and ready to be sent out for what God has called them to do!

I am also teaching this week at the Calvary Training Centers (Tijuana) annual church planting school! The young adults in this class are open and desiring to be sent out to church plant in Mexico. It’s always a blessing when I get to step outside of our church family to pour into the new generation of believers that God is building up!

I would also like to ask you to pray for our upcoming international church planting conference on August 7th and 8th! We have friends flying in from all over the USA and Mexico to be stirred up and learn all about God’s heart for church planting. We are stepping out in faith and having this conference and praying that God doesn’t only protect us, but He speaks to each heart in attendance!

Finally, I want to thank each one of you that partner with us in the ministry! With the economic difficulties we are facing in today’s world, we have understandably had several supporters that are not able to continue partnering with us financially as their missionaries. This reminded me of the sacrifices that you are making to partner with us.

#2-  That God would bless our upcoming church planting conference (August 7th and 8th) and 25th church plant to Guatemala!

#3- That God would allow us to open up our church doors again in a safe manner!

Praise Reports!

#1- Praise God that we were able to finish our new audio/video studio!

#2- Praise God for the 12 July baptisms at the church!

Vincent Family July 2020 Mission Update

Greetings from Mexico,

We are continuing to try and adjust to this new normal of the coronavirus. We are still being radically affected here in Mexico, with churches still not being allowed to “Legally” meet live and in person. But as we continue to work hard and minister in the middle of the coronavirus, there are five clear lessons that God has shown me that I would like to share with you!

Lesson #1- Ministry and God’s Work Continue in difficult times!

Our ministry has changed but it continues. The Mexican economy has been devastated by this coronavirus and many in our church family have lost their places of employment. To fill emergency needs, we have been focused on our church’s hospitality ministry. This ministry has been busy giving out close to 100 family food bags per week! These bags are designed to feed a family of four the basics for one week, and are advertised and offered to anyone in need in our community, no questions asked. We are blessed that our church has been able to be the hands and feet of Jesus during this pandemic!

We also have continued on with our church planting training. In June, we finished our church planting spring semester, with 28 students enrolled and 6 graduates. (Including two brothers that are being sent out to church plant in Guatemala in August)

I was also able to fly out to Arizona this past month to speak at our new church plant, Refresh Church Waddell, and do some homeless ministry with their church!

Lesson #2- Technology Matters!

If you’re an old person like me, you know that technology can seem difficult and even impossible to learn! When I have to ask my 7-year-old nephew to help me with my phone, you know that I need to up my technology game. But this pandemic has shown us the importance of media in the world today!

To be honest, this was an area where our ministry had been lacking, but not anymore. We have made a deep investment in technology to purchase new cameras, computers, and even built a new recording studio at the church! As the world moves more and more into the digital realm, we are blessed that this push from the coronavirus has forced us to progress and improve in the areas of technology and video production!

Lesson #3- Life Goes on!

This past month our family was blessed with three new milestones. First off, our baby Daniel turned 18 and graduated from high school with honors. So many of this year’s seniors missed out on the normal senior activities, but our homeschooler Daniel didn’t seem to affected by it! We celebrated Daniel’s graduation, by getting a small air b-n-b in San Diego with his family and missionary friends.

Also in June, Sarah and I got to celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary, which coincided with our 18th anniversary of living and ministering here in Mexico. Yes, the world may have come to a halt with this corona virus, but just like you, our lives continue to move on!

Lesson #4- Too much news isn’t good for the soul!

This month I finally decided to turn off the news completely! I am tired of the scare tactics and depressing and hopeless newscasts that the media was attempting to force down my throat. The truth is that no matter how crazy this world gets, our Almighty God still rules and reigns on heaven’s throne!

One interesting side note of this situation is how easily the world’s masses and governments have fallen in line with the fear tactics being pushed upon us. For me, I see a world ripe for the amazing end times events laid out for us in the book of Revelation that seemed unlikely just 4 months ago!

Lesson #5- God’s People Remain Faithful!

I am so proud of our church family here in Mexico. Though scattered in our homes, our church family has proven faithful in joining us for our online services. They have also prayed for us and been faithful in their financial giving!

And it’s not only our friends here that have been faithful, we are thankful for you, our precious ministry partners who have continued to stand by us and pray for us and support us financially in these trying times. We are honored and blessed that you have chosen to partner with us in this great mission work here in Mexico! THANK YOU!

Con mucho amor de Mexico,  (with much love from Mexico)

Mike, Sarah, Grace, and Daniel

Prayer Requests!

#1-  That God would keep our family, church, city, nation, and world safe in this coronavirus, and deliver us!

#2-  That God would bless our upcoming church planting conference (August 7th and 8th) and 25th church plant to Guatemala!

#3- That God would allow us to open up our church doors again in a safe manner!

Praise Reports!

#1- Praise God for the great response to our improving online services! We have had thousands of views, and many first time professions of faith!

#2- Praise God that God’s people are continuing to give financially so we can keep our church staff employed, and continue to support our church planters!

Vincent Family June 2020 Missions Update

Greetings from Mexico,

Just like you have, we have been working hard to make the best out of this difficult CORONA VIRUS situation. And we believe that we are going to see God bring good out of it just as He has promised! (Romans 8:28)

During the past month, we have been hosting what we are calling “CAR CHURCH” services on Sundays. To prepare for this special service, we first built a 450 square foot outside stage in our large parking lot, and then we made a giant 20×30 foot banner that said “WELCOME HOME” (Bienvenido a Casa)!

We also purchased an FM radio transmitter  that transmits a live audio signal to a 5 mile radius. The end result is that people get to watch the live service onstage from their cars, while listening to the service on their fm stereo!

As we began to invite our church family we had many safety and security questions and we assured our friends that everything would be held with their safety in mind!  We have now held 6 CAR CHURCH Sundays, and each Sunday the participation has grown. This past Sunday, we had over 160 cars full of our friends that attended our two Sunday services.

We are enjoying this special service, but are looking forward to opening up the church again with live services. Would you please join us in prayer about the timing of our re-opening? (The Mexico Government has not yet made any public statements about allowing churches to re-open)

Also during this corona virus, we have been working hard on improving our live streaming for services. If you would like to tune in and watch our live services, we stream them on Wednesdays at 6:30pm and Sunday mornings at 9am! You can find our live streams at our church facebook page, and also at our church YouTube channel. (Here is a link :  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCe6XmDBjFSJ-Hjd2zBWEDfA   )

We have also taken advantage of this down time to build an audio video studio inside of our sanctuary to improve our audio and video online services. This 400 square foot addition was  built out of the 2nd floor of our sanctuary. It includes a large office for our media staff, a production area for our audio and video team that will be recording the services live, and a permanent small studio where we can record online Bible studies, interviews, and video announcements! We are excited to debut our new studio and recording equipment next month, and hope that you will tune in to our new live-stream services and let us know what you think!

Finally, once again I want to thank you our precious co-laborers for your partnership in this great work. It is through your financial giving that God provides for our physical needs, and it is through your prayers that God provides for our spiritual needs. We are honored and blessed that you have chosen to partner with us. THANK YOU!
