Vincent Family April 2018 Missions Update

Greetings from Mexico,

Paul wrote to his young assistant Timothy in 2nd Timothy 2:2 ,  “ And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”  Paul was reminding Timothy that different generations of men and women, should be trained up to disciple and instruct new generations of men and women in a spiritual chain!  A long time dream of mine that relates to this process is being fulfilled for the first time this year in 2018, and I wanted to share about it with you in this family update!

When we started our church planting program over 10 years ago,  my dream was that those that we sent out would have a heart to also eventually send out their own church planters. Now I know this takes time (We didn’t send out our first planter until 7 years) but this year, 3 of our church plants have plans to plant their own churches!

I got to visit two of these new church plants last month as I took a church planting trip to visit the Mexican state of Sinaloa! (The home and headquarters of the captured notorious drug lord “El Chapo”) We presently have 3 church plants in the state of Sinaloa.

My first stop was to visit my good friend Pastor Hugo Limon and his church plant located in the capital city of  Culiacan.  Hugo was sent out back in 2015, and he gave me the privilege to preach and we saw 9 professions of faith during their two Sunday services. A special highlight was ordaining  2 of Hugo’s assistant pastors. One of those assistants is planning on being SENT OUT later this year, to plant a church about 30 minutes away there in Culiacan.

Our next destination was a three hour drive away to the beachside city of Mazatlan to visit our church planters Tony and Angela Carranza and their church Maranatha. We had a wonderful time hosting a “basics of the faith” conference at their church, but our focus was traveling to a town called Escuinapa (population 100,000 about an hour away from Mazatlan) to visit Tony’s recent church plant!

Just three months ago, Tony sent out his assistant pastor (Martin Moreno) and family to plant a church in their hometown of Escuinapa. The church is presently meeting in Martin’s home and once again our ministry team taught a “basics of the faith” conference. Of the 18 adults in attendance, we got to baptize 5 of them during their churches very first baptism.

Meanwhile, back at Rosarito I had some friends from our church plant in La Mision (Liberty Ranch, 1 hour south of us, planted back in 2016!) come and visit and speak at our church.

We had one of their assistant pastors share about their plans to plant a church later this summer in the famous Big Wave surfing town of Todos Santos located in South Baja!

By God’s grace our ministry in Rosarito is supporting all three of these next level church plants that are scheduled to begin in 2018!  In the language of church planting, these new church plants are not our daughter churches (those we sent out directly) but our GRANDAUGHTER CHURCHES being sent out by our church plants. I feel like a proud old grandpa seeing our church planters grab the vision to plant their own churches!

Seeing this come to pass has been a long time dream of mine, and I am so thankful to the Lord that He has allowed me to see this begin to happen before my own eyes. Ultimately, these church plants and the souls harvested there are your spiritual fruit! I feel very privileged and honored to partner with you in this great work! Thank you for your love, prayers, and financial support!

Vincent Family March 2018 Missions Update

Greetings from Mexico,

The bible says in 2nd Corinthians 5:17,  “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”  Jesus said that He  “came to seek and save the lost”. (Luke 19:10) One of the great blessings we have seen in our ministry is lost and hurting people finding faith and hope in Jesus Christ!

So far this year we are averaging over 10 first time professions of faith in our church each week. Now that is very exciting, but to be honest with you, one of the problems we have had in the past is connecting those people that profess faith to our church family. In an effort to meet that need, last year we created a New Believers class. This 4 week course that covers the basics of the faith meet during each one of our four main weekly church services. The four topics that are covered are: #1- Jesus, #2- The Bible, #3- The church, and #4- How to grow spiritually!

These courses are taught by four gifted husband and wife teaching teams, and this past week we had 29 new believers of all ages enrolled in these courses. To graduate, these new believers need to not only attend all four classes, but finish up by getting baptized at one of our church’s monthly baptisms.

In our two baptisms so far this year, we have had the honor of witnessing 28 baptisms. But the most encouraging part of this is that most of those baptized are new believers that have only a month or two in the faith! In the rest of this missions update, I wanted to share the testimony of one of these new believers with you.

Juan was invited to church by a friend of mine a broken man. Juan’s marriage was on the rocks, he was unemployed and was losing hope. That very first Sunday,  Juan responded to the Gospel presentation and made a public profession of faith in Christ. The following Sunday, Juan brought his wife and children with him to church, and his wife professed faith that 2nd week! (They had never stepped foot in a protestant church up until this time.)

Over the next month, Juan and his wife completed our new believers course and then were baptized together at our most recent baptism. It was such a joyous time to see God restoring what the enemy had stolen. Juan and his family continue faithfully at the church and are also  attending our weekly marriage builders study to strengthen their marriage.

Juan and his family are just one of many that God has allowed us to reach with His love and offer of salvation here in the mission field of Mexico. Thank you so much for partnering with us, we love you!

Con mucho amor de Mexico,  (with much love from Mexico)

Prayer Requests!

#1-  That God would continue to help us plug in and disciple these new believers!

#2-  That God would provide for the financial needs of our family and church!

Praise Reports!

#1- Praise the Lord for our new believers completing the New believers class and getting  baptized!

#2- Thank you Lord for the three new church plants we have scheduled for later on in 2018! (In Western Tijuana, and Campeche and Oaxaca (States in southern Mexico)

From Mexico to Florida, Visiting Church Planters

Grace Vincent, Mike Vincent, Aaron Smith and Robbyn Smith.

I had a fantastic time this week in Florida visiting our church planters, (Aaron and Robbyn Smith and their daughter Eliana.) It was amazing to teach at their church and lead worship for their growing congregation!  And not only is their church on fire, they are also partnering with our church on four of our Mexico church plants.

The hi-light of the week was spending time with my daughter Grace as she joined me on this church planting trip! (She served on the media during my sermons, just like she does at our church)

Vincent Family February 2018 Missions Update

Greetings from Mexico,

We hope that you and yours are being blessed as the New Year is upon us with all of it’s opportunity and challenges. In this update, I wanted to share with you about a very special ministry that we have here in Mexico.  The CCRosarito dump ministry was founded 6 years ago as a group of us began traveling periodically to the Tijuana dump!

Unlike American dumps, there are many people that live full time in the dump. These precious people live in homemade shacks and scavenge through the trash trying to collect enough to survive. Needless to say, drug and alcohol and sexual abuse is rampant. But it is in this dark place, where God has sent us with food and clothing and (most importantly) the hope and salvation that can be found in Jesus Christ!

Just this past Saturday,  a group of 30 of our church members traveled to the Tijuana dump for an outreach. We brought meals for 250, along with plenty of clothing, hygiene items, and some friends to offer free haircuts.

As always, the focus of our time there is loving those that live there unconditionally. We also provide a church service with the message of salvation. We partner with several local rehabilitation homes that allow us to rescue those that are tired of living in the dump, and bring them out to grow and heal in a safe environment.

Starting early last year, we began a weekly ministry to the (closer but smaller) Rosarito dump. Once again, many people live in this dump in impoverished and unsanitary conditions! Each week we bring an energetic team of faithful believers that are ready to pray and minister and feed those living there.

Because we travel to this dump regularly, we are able to provide them with a weekly Bible study and we have monthly baptisms for those that profess faith! I would like to tell you about the testimony of one of our friends that lives in the dump!

Sofia (pictured here with our director of outreach Carlos) is an 82-year-old Christian who has lived with her family for many generations in the dump. Every time we arrive, Sofia greets us with a smile. Because of her age, she is unable to stoop over to pick through the trash so she spends her days sitting in the trash while picking through searching for little  pieces of copper and other metal that she can sell to the recycler. Over the years, our church has helped Sofia with tarps to mend her leaky roof and gloves to sift through the trash! We have also been blessed to help meet some of her medical needs.  Through our many visits with her, Sofia  always encourages us with her sincere love for Jesus and faith that one day she will live not in a dump, but in glory with her Savior in heaven!

Please pray with us as it is my heart to plant a church right there in the dump in the near future. Wouldn’t that be amazing? Could you imagine God allowing our church to plant a permanent church right there at the dump!  Well the owner of the dump has already given us permission to do this great work. Presently, we are waiting on the finances to build a basic structure there in the dump while also training the servant leaders that are preparing to lead this new church plant.

Finally, thank you so much for partnering and supporting us as your missionaries. Together God has brought us together as a team to labor together in the ripe fields of the Lord. This fruitful work to the least of these in the Mexico dump is your fruit, as we are simply an extension of you and your support and partnership.  We love you!

Con mucho amor de Mexico,  (with much love from Mexico)

Mike, Sarah, Grace, and Daniel

Prayer Requests!

#1-  That God would help us plant a church in the dump this coming year!

#2-  That God would provide for the financial needs of our family!

#3- That God would bless our new batch of church planters that started church planting class in January!

November 2017 Vincent Family Missions Update

Dear ministry partners!

October was a busy month full of ministry and new life! We ended the month last weekend with our monthly baptisms.  It was such a blessing as we were able to witness 22 believers make their decision to follow Jesus Christ public through the waters of baptism!

A few months ago our church started a new believer’s class to better disciple those that profess faith at our church. This 4 week class focuses on the basics of the Christian faith; Jesus, the Bible, spiritual growth and the church. These new believers graduate from this class when they are baptized at one of our weekend services. It was very encouraging to see so many of these new converts who have just recently professed faith take this step and be willing to be baptized in October!

A major focus for me this month was our negotiations to finally purchase our church facility. We are so thankful for your prayers and financial support to help us get to this point, this was truly a team effort. Our church body gave sacrificially and generously and so did so many of our stateside friends and supporters. After 6 months of prayer and fundraising, together we were able to raise raised a great majority of the asking price for the building, and we are now in active negotiations to finalize the deal!

An extra blessing also popped open to us as we began negotiations on our church building. At this same time the large (empty) parking lot located directly next to our church (North side, different owner) went on the market as well.  Presently, we are averaging over 1200 attending our church each weekend,  and we cannot have a church facility without adequate parking.  So as this lot went on the market, we viewed this as another open door from  God. After praying together we realized that there are no coincidences in the Lord, so we decided to take a bigger step of faith and attempt to purchase both our church campus and the adjacent parking area at the same time!

At writing time, neither of these deals have been finalized yet and we covet your prayers as this process moves forward. Although much money was raised, we do not have the funds to make both of these deals with the resources in hand right now, so we need God’s favor and direction as we move forward!

15 years ago we would have never imagined that God would have us in a position to purchase our spacious church facility and large parking lot in the most desirable area of our city in Rosarito!  But once again, God has done much more than we could ever ask or think. We are so honored and blessed that you have chosen to partner with us on this amazing journey. We love you and appreciate you!

Con mucho amor de Mexico, (with much love from Mexico)

Mike,  Sarah, Grace, and Daniel

Prayer Requests:

#1-   Pray for our new believers class and that the students will be baptized!

#2- Pray for favor as we negotiate the land (parking) and building purchases!

#3- Pray that God will continue to provide for the financial needs of our family!

Ministering to Children

Dear ministry partners!

In this month’s update, I wanted to share with you some of the wonderful things that God has been doing through the children in our ministry! As you travel around the world on missions trips, one of the unique things that you will witness is that children are usually the first ones to come to the Lord! When missionaries move to a foreign country, it is usually the children that are open to hear about Jesus first!

Here in Rosarito, things worked that same way with our ministry! Since the very beginning back in 2002, we have been blessed to always have groups of children around the church!

At the present time, we continue with our Saturday street kids ministry, where we bring 30+children to our church each Saturday afternoon to hear about Jesus, play, do a craft, and enjoy a meal! We also minister to over 300 children every week at our weekend services!

This past month we enjoyed a very special VBS! (Vacation Bible School) In this summer’s edition, we had over children ages 5 to 12 join us this year and the racing style theme was “The Pits”! Each day the children got to race around the church campus on mini bikes and toy race cars, and throughout the day they would make “pit stops” for bible stories, crafts, and snacks!

The laughter could be heard from miles around, and each child had an amazing experience. Our ministry team did a fantastic job and over 40 teachers and youth volunteered to spend an entire week ministering to these precious children!

The highlight of our VBS week is always the final day where we present the message of salvation to the children! This year over 20 children made first time professions of faith. IN the Bible Jesus said,  “Let the little children come unto me”  and this week many of them did! Praise the Lord!

On the ministry side of things, we continue to focus on our church building fundraising project. In July we were blessed to host two fundraising dinners and many generous donors contributed, and God provided over 40,000 dollars towards our goal! Our present lease runs out at the end of this month (August), and we are still short of the purchase price,  so please keep this project your prayers!

If you were not able to attend one of our fundraising dinners and would like to give a special one-time financial gift towards the building project, the direct online giving link is below!

A New Church Plant!

Dear ministry partners!

In May we got to celebrate and send out our 17th church planting team. In this update, I want to tell you all about this wonderful event! I first met my friend Michael Hanson, his wife Melissa, and their three children (Caleb, Sarah, and Nathan) at our church over 6 years ago. They Hanson family had been sent out to Mexico from a church in their hometown of Santa Cruz (Northern California) to serve full time at a local orphanage that we partner with!

After completing their four year commitment with the orphanage, Michael sat down with me and shared that he has always felt called to teach the word in a full time ministry position! I invited Michael to join our ministry team,  and it was at that time, the Hanson family joined us as full time missionary staff. Michael also enrolled in our church planting course!

Over the past two years, the Hansons have not only been strategic ministry partners but good personal friends of ours! We eventually ordained Michael as one of our Assistant Pastors as he took on more and more ministry responsibilities! After completing our two year church planting course, Michael and Melissa both sensed that God was calling them to move back to their hometown to plant a church to reach the large Hispanic population in Santa Cruz that would be based on the bilingual model that we have at CCRosarito!

In May our church was able to have a SENDING WEEKEND service where Michael preached about God’s call to the nations and also shared the calling that God has placed on his  family to church plant! As always, it was with mixed feelings that we sent their family out! Not only have the Hanson’s become our good friends, but our children have literally grown up together. One of the blessings of being a sending hub is that many missionary families join our staff and it gives our children an opportunity to develop friendships with the children of other missions minded families!

Many tears flowed as we held our going away parties for the Hanson family! We miss them terribly, but we stand firm in our belief that God has called them back home to church plant! Just last week, the Hanson’s arrived back in Santa Cruz, and they have already seen God begin to open up doors of ministry for them. Please pray that God will bless the home Bible study that they are beginning soon, and that God will bring servant leaders alongside of them to serve in this great work! Thank you once again for partnering with us! Together God has blessed us to with the opportunity to partner together to reach so many communities through church planting!

I want to finish this update by sharing with you about the progress on our church building fundraising campaign! After 3 months of only local (Mexico/church side) fundraising, we have received over 35% of the total goal!  (180k out of 480k full asking price) The time has now come for us to visit the USA for our two planned fundraising dinners!

We hope that you will be able to join us for one of these two dinners! If you are in the Bakersfield area and would like to join us for our Friday June 30th dinner, please contact my father Mark Vincent at 714-649-3105, so we can plan on you’re attendance! If you are able to attend our Orange County Fund Raising dinner in Yorba Linda on Saturday July 1st, we have an online sign up for you to confirm your attendance. Please copy the link below into your internet browser and kindly tell us how many seats we can provide for you!

https://www.egsnetwork.com/events/?eventid=30EF7971A97D4EE#

Finally, #1- please continue to pray that God will bring those donors ready to partner with us to these two dinners. At these dinners I will share about the history of the church, everyone will enjoy a free delicious Mexican dinner, and then have the opportunity to give a tax deductible donation to help us purchase our building! #2- Pray as we continue on with our monthly local fundraising efforts in Mexico. #3- Pray about joining us for one of our fundraising dinners, and please feel free to invite other donors that you know that might be interested in partnering with us in this worthy cause! In our next month’s update, we will include sign up information for those interested in attending one of these fund raising dinners! (The dinner is free, but you and your guests will need to reserve your spot)

Thank you once again for your love, prayers, and support of our family here on the mission field of Mexico! It is through your prayers that God meets our spiritual needs, and through your financial support, that God meet’s our material needs!

Vincent Family March 2017 Missions Update

Greetings from Mexico,

In this update, I wanted to share two special stories with you! One good, one bad, both dealing with water! Let’s start with the bad news first. In February our city was hit with a flash flood! Located not to far south of California, when that mega storm hit on Friday February 17th, the eye of that storm came ashore directly over our city of Rosarito!

Within 3 hours we had such a torrential downpour that the entire city was flooded. Roads were closed, a state of emergency was declared, and a few people tragically lost their lives through drowning! Unfortunately, our church facility is located at a low point near a city drain that is designed to empty out the water from the 10,000 residents that live on the hills above our church!

As the torrents of water gushed down the hill, our little city drain could not handle the water deluge, and a lake began to gather in our parking lot next to the church! The water level continued to rise for the next two hours until it suddenly overflowed into our church facility! It was a tragically amazing site, as we had no chance to respond. The entire church was under 12 inches or more of water within 5 minutes.

Our sanctuary, children’s ministry rooms, bathrooms, and kitchen all flooded!

We had nothing to do but wait and pray for the rain to subside! The next morning, the rains had stopped and we surveyed the devastation! We put out a call for help and over 60 congregants showed up with brooms, mops and shovels in hand!

My first thought was that we were going to be forced to cancel church for the weekend. But so many worked so hard that by the time our Saturday evening service was scheduled to begin, the church was usable! This was an absolute miracle attributed to the grace of God and the hard work of his people! After calculating all of our losses, the permanent damage was minimal!

We had a second event this month that was so beautiful, so touching, that it left most of our church body in tears! I want to tell you the story of a 9 year old boy named Lucio! Lucio, was led to Christ by a missionary from our church and she brings him to church (without any friends or family) every Sunday. After accepting Jesus, Lucio asked his missionary friend if he could be baptized at one of our church’s monthly baptisms!

Because Lucio didn’t have any family present, as he prepared to get baptized I asked any children that were willing to be his friend, to come up and lay hands on him as we prayed for him before he was baptized! About 30 children under 10 ran up and laid hands on him and prayed for him with us! It was amazing to see these children run forward to lay hands on their new friend as he took this public step of faith!

Jesus said in Matthew 19:14, “let the little children come to me and do not forbid them, for as such is the Kingdom of heaven!” It is such an honor to see children that profess faith desire by their own will to take the next step of baptism!

We want to thank you once again for partnering with our family and ministry! It is through your prayers that God meet’s our spiritual needs, and through your financial giving that God meets our physical needs! We are honored and blessed to partner with you and serve as your missionaries!

Con mucho amor de Mexico, (with much love from Mexico)

Mike, Sarah, Grace, and Daniel

Prayer Requests:

#1- Pray for that God will keep the rains away! (We almost flooded again on Monday)

#2- Pray that God will continue to provide for the financial needs of our family personally!

#3- Pray that God will help us purchase our building, as our 5 year lease runs out at the end of the summer!

Vincent Family February 2017 Missions Update

Greetings from Mexico,

The Bible teaches us in Proverbs 19:17 “Whoever is kind to the poor, lends to the Lord, and He will reward them for what they have done!” Over the years, our church has become a hub to help the hurting in our city, and in this update, I want to tell you about a few of the mercy ministries that our church offers to our community!

Every month or so, we host a dump outreach. There are 100’s of people that live in shacks out at the Tijuana dump. These poor folks struggle with addiction and attempt to eek out a meager living by scavenging for trash which they sell to try and survive. This past Saturday our church sent a team to minister in the dump! This team brought with them 1000 sandwiches, gently used clothing, and they offered free haircuts and medical care. They also brought activities to play with the children that live there in the dump!

Most importantly, when we go to the dump (or anywhere else) we share the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ! We also bring along some leaders from a local Christian rehab center to invite any of the folks living in the dump a safe place to heal if they are ready to leave and come with us! (This past weekend, one man accepted our offer, left the dump and joined the discipleship home this past weekend!)

Our church also hosts two mercy ministries at our Rosarito campus. Our first ministry is a simple food ministry that provides a large box of food staples for anyone that has a need! (no questions ask) We also have emergency financial assistance funds for those that have medical needs!

Also at our church, we continue to host our Saturday morning kids club that Sarah began over 14 years ago. In this club we pick up poor children in our community and we bring them to the church where we feed them and give them a fun and safe afternoon focused around Jesus!

Our church is also honored to support and partner with a local children’s feeding kitchen that feeds children in our community! Along those lines, one of our earliest church plants located in the poor area of Tijuana (Vista del Valle) has built 2 feeding kitchens of their own that feed a combine 60 needy children every day!

Finally, we are blessed to have two orphanages whose children call our church there home! Most of these children have gotten saved in our church, then baptized, and many of them are even serving now! And up untill 6 months ago we even had a rehabilitation center joining us for our weekly services! (Until they broke away and became one of our recent church plants!- CCLiberty Ranch)

Jesus said in Matthew 25:40, “inasmuch as you did this to one of the least of these, you did it unto me” It is our honor and privilege to be merciful to the poor, the orphan and the hurting here in Mexico. And as you partner with our family, you too are spreading compassion and partnering in these wonderful mercy ministries! Thank you so much!

Con mucho amor de Mexico, (with much love from Mexico)

Mike, Sarah, Grace, and Daniel

Prayer Requests:

#1- Pray for that God will continue to open doors for different mercy ministries in Mexico!

#2- Pray that God will continue to provide for the financial needs of our family personally!

#3- Pray that God will help us purchase our building, as our 5 year lease runs out later this year!
